Moncada reacclimated himself off the injured list with a three-run blast off Jeff Hoffman in the eighth inning to extend the Angels lead. It was the first home run of the season for the 29-year-old third baseman after he missed nearly a month with a right thumb sprain.

Trout has already begun hitting, which is obviously a positive sign. The 33-year-old doesn’t have a timetable for a return, and it seems likely that he’ll need at least a week or two more before he’s ready to hit in the middle of the Angels’ lineup.

Soler was scratched from the lineup Friday, and he’ll miss at least one more game. The hope is for Soler to return for the finale against Baltimore on Sunday, but no guarantees. Matthew Lugo is in left field with Taylor Ward the designated hitter.

A very Kyle Hendricks-like start from, well, Kyle Hendricks. He was able to strike out five, but he didn’t fool Baltimore hitters for most of the contest and gave up all three runs in the first two innings. It could have been worse, but it’s pretty clear there won’t be too many starts like the 7 2/3 innings of one-run baseball like he had the last time out against the Tigers. He shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups Wednesday for his scheduled bout against the Padres.

Urías put the Athletics on the board with a solo homer off Carlos Rodon in the second inning, pulling a line drive just inside the right field foul pole. The 27-year-old infielder has filled in nicely for the injured Zack Gelof, hitting .256/.341/.487 with six homers and ten RBI across 93 plate appearances.

Mayo saw just 13 plate appearances during his brief stay with the big league club, going 1-for-12 (.083) with a single and a 6/1 K/BB ratio. He’ll return to an everyday role at Norfolk where he’ll continue to sharpen his skills until a full-time opportunity emerges with the Orioles.

Mayo has gone 0-for-8 with five strikeouts in three games since returning last weekend to the big leagues. The 23-year-old top prospect figures to be ticketed for Triple-A Norfolk once starting third baseman Jordan Westburg (hamstring) is ready to return from the injured list, which could be as early as next week. It’ll be veteran Emmanuel Rivera drawing a start at the hot corner on Wednesday night.
