Joshua Palacios homered to start the game, but that was the lone run the A’s surrendered through nine innings. Bido was effective despite striking out just one. He’s totaled three strikeouts over 16 innings in his last three starts, compared to 14 in 15 innings in his first three. That he’s been successful in two of these recent outings anyway was undoubtedly influenced by the competition — two starts against the White Sox will help anyone’s overall line. He has another rather easy matchup coming up against the Marlins, making him a decent streaming option.

Jung reportedly sustained the injury on a swing in which he shattered his bat, then he appeared to open the wound further while making a bare-handed play in the field. It doesn’t seem like the type of injury that should lead to an extended absence, but with Jung you can never be too sure. Expect the Rangers to provide an update on his status after the game.

Katie Woo of The Athletic confirms the report and adds that Thomas Saggese will be optioned out to create the spot on the team’s active roster. Barrero has been swinging a hot bat at the Triple-A level, slashing .299/.396/.517 with four homers, 13 RBI and five swipes through his first 23 ballgames. He’s unlikely to see enough playing time to gain relevancy from a fantasy perspective.

Lodolo had a no-hitter going until Jordan Beck was credited with an infield single in the bottom of the sixth. Elly De La Cruz made the tough play initially, but his throw pulled Spencer Steer off the bag. The other hit in the seventh was a roller down the third base line that Noelvi Marte hoped would go foul but wound up hitting the bag. The Reds probably didn’t mind, though, as they weren’t going to want Lodolo throwing the 110+ pitches it likely would have taken to complete a no-hitter. He struck out nine and walked one on the day. Lodolo is 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA, and he should remain one of the NL’s top lefties for as long as his body holds up. He’ll face the Nationals next.

The Reds probably can’t release Candelario when he’s not even halfway through his three-year, $45 million contract, but he was bad last year and he’s been considerably worse while opening this season 9-for-80 with 29 strikeouts. He might lose even more playing time when Tyler Stephenson is activated, since Stephenson will likely DH at least once or twice per week.

The Cardinals’ offense has struggled a bit of late, but Nootbaar continues to perform and is slashing .272/.409/.427 on the season. The power hasn’t quite come with the consistency that many were hoping for, but he has been a great value for anybody who took him in drafts.

He may not have overpowering stuff, but he knows how to pitch, and when his command is on, he’s going to have stretches of solid production. However, he is a really risky play next week against the Cubs.

Peña has been moving up in the order, hitting cleanup in seven straight games before being the leadoff man on Sunday. He’s currently sporting a career-high walk rate and pull rate, which has led to a 10.3 percent barrel rate and really strong quality of contact. Peña made some changes to his swing in the off-season, and he could be reaping the rewards of that.

Brown struck out nine and walked one while posting a 28 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. Interestingly, it wasn’t the curve that led the way for Brown today but his changeup, which produced a 42 percent whiff rate and 42 percent CSW. One of the knocks on Brown has been that he doesn’t have a true “out” pitch, and while that may be true, as long as one pitch in his six-pitch arsenal shows up every game to complement his fastball, he should continue to produce solid results. He should continue to roll next week against the White Sox.

The Mets were being cautious with Edwin Diaz, who secured a save on Saturday, so he was not available today. Stanek started the frame by allowing a double to Alex Call, then got a groundout before CJ Abrams tied the game with a single. After a walk, Pete Alonso committed a throwing error on a ball hit by Luis Garcia, and Abrams came around to score the winning run. Stanek has now blown his last two save chances when Diaz is not available, and the Mets may need to re-think that strategy.

Vientos now has hits in 11 of his last 12 games and has gone 14-for-46 (.304) over that span with two home runs and 10 RBI. The process stats and plate discipline have been good for Vientos all season, so it’s nice to see the results start to fall into place. There is still some time to buy low in fantasy leagues.

Megill entered the seventh inning with a 7-1 lead and was allowed to start the inning despite being at 92 pitches. He allowed a double and a single while getting one strikeout before being pulled from the game. Jose Butto would then allow that inherited runner to score in addition to three more runs before the Mets’ bullpen blew the game for good in the ninth. Megill posted a 28 percent whiff rate and 37 percent CSW and deserved a far better fate in this one. He’ll look to rebound in St. Louis next week.

The expectation had been that Marsh should be ready to rejoin the Phillies at some point next week, so we’ll see if this minor setback changes that timeline at all. Marsh had played six innings in the outfield before exiting. He’ll be re-evaluated on Monday.

Volpe swatted a pitch from Paxton Schultz into the bleachers for his fifth home run of the season. However, even after the strong game, he’s still slashing .216/.319/.443 on the season. Volpe is still young, and it’s easy to fantasize about his development, but at this point in his career, he has proven himself to be a solid power/speed fantasy asset who will hit for a low batting average and go through cold stretches throughout the season. That can still be a valuable player for your teams, but you need to be ready to ride the rollercoaster all season long.

Despite a hot spring, Wells has gotten off to a slow start and is slashing just .213/.275/.450 on the season with 15 RBI. However, today is a good reminder of what he’s capable of doing, and we saw last season that he will endure some cold streaks over the course of a long season. We’d still be holding in almost all league types.

Straw is off to a good start for the Blue Jays, slashing .326/.370/.465 so far in the season. However, Daulton Varsho (shoulder) is set to return from the IL on Tuesday, which will force Straw to a bench role in Toronto.

Fried has made some minor movement tweaks to his fastballs this season, taking off movement on his sinker but adding movement to his cutter. The adjustments have dropped his swing-and-miss on those pitches a bit this season, but they’ve been more effective at inducing weak contact. Overall, the strikeouts haven’t been there for Fried so far this season, but that’s about the only complaint you can make. He’s a must-start in any matchup, including against Tampa Bay next week.

That’s never what you want to hear. Glasnow gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in the opening inning of this one, then returned to throw warm-up pitches prior to the second inning when something didn’t feel right. That prompted a visit from the training staff and his ultimate removal. He’ll head for further testing to see exactly what’s going on there. Fantasy managers should have a contingency option in plan for next week as it wouldn’t be surprising to see Glasnow land on the injured list.
