The 30-year-old hurler refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake earlier in the week but ultimately after exploring the market he decided a return to the Angels made the most sense. He’ll continue to function as extra bullpen depth at the Triple-A level.

Anderson was called upon with two men on and one out in the seventh inning with the Angels leading 4-1. He got Mookie Betts on a fly ball to center field but then served up a game-tying three-run homer to Will Smith. The Angels would take the lead back in the top half of the eighth though, and Anderson retired the Dodgers in order in each of the next two innings to close it out. It’s the first win for the 30-year-old right-hander since he won three games for the Giants way back during the 2019 campaign. He now sports a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and a 9/2 K/BB ratio over 7 1/3 innings in his first three appearances with the Halos.
