Bichette opened the second inning with a walk as the Blue Jays loaded the bases against Shohei Ohtani, but Andrés Giménez struck out and they came away empty-handed. An inning later, George Springer led off with a single, was sacrificed to second, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was intentionally walked to bring up Bichette — who promptly ambushed a first-pitch slider for a 442-foot, three-run homer (110.1 mph EV) to give Toronto an early lead. He later added a one-out single off Blake Snell in the ninth before being lifted for a pinch-runner. The 27-year-old impending free agent wrapped up the World Series slashing a strong .348/.444/.478 slash line with one homer and six RBI across seven games, setting himself up for a potentially massive multi-year payday in free agency this winter.

Bichette started off the second inning with a walk as the Blue Jays loaded the bases against Shohei Ohtani, but Andrés Giménez struck out and they wound up coming away empty-handed. In the third inning, George Springer led off with a single, he was sacrificed to second base and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was walked intentionally to bring up Bichette. He then ambushed a first-pitch slider for a 442-foot (110.1 mph EV) three-run shot that gave the Blue Jays an early advantage. He also smacked a one-out single off of Blake Snell in the ninth inning before exiting for a pinch-runner. Bichette finishes the World Series slashing a healthy .348/.444/.478 with a homer and six RBI in seven games — setting himself up to land an incredibly-lucrative multi-year deal on the open market over the winter.

Bichette came off the bench as a pinch-hitter during Saturday evening’s Game 2 loss at the Rogers Centre after making his first professional start at the keystone during the Fall Classic opener. The Blue Jays will continue to manage his workload the rest of the way as the 27-year-old impending free agent is coming back from a PCL sprain in his right knee that put him on the shelf in early September. No real changes otherwise from Toronto manager John Schneider as the best-of-seven series heads to Los Angeles with Tyler Glasnow on the hill for the Dodgers. Here’s the full lineup: George Springer (DH), Nathan Lukes (LF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Bichette (2B), Daulton Varsho (CF), Alejandro Kirk (C), Addison Barger (RF), Ernie Clement (3B) and Andrés Giménez (SS).

Isiah Kiner-Falefa is at second base with Bichette on the bench to open Saturday’s showdown at the Rogers Centre. The 27-year-old impending free agent made his first-ever appearance at the keystone during the Fall Classic opener and went 1-for-2 with a walk in his first game action since September 6. It doesn’t come as a total surprise that the Blue Jays are going to be extremely cautious with his workload considering the nature of the right knee injury he’s working his way back from. The other notable change for Toronto is Addison Barger entering the lineup after slugging a pinch-hit grand slam during Friday’s series-opening victory. Here’s the full lineup: George Springer (DH), Nathan Lukes (LF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Alejandro Kirk (C), Daulton Varsho (CF), Ernie Clement (3B), Barger (RF), Kiner-Falefa (2B) and Andrés Giménez (SS).

Bichette makes his highly anticipated return to the Jays’ lineup and should provide a boost to an offense that was already firing on all cylinders heading into the fall classic. Here’s the full lineup that the Jays will roll out against left-hander Blake Snell on baseball’s biggest stage on Friday: George Springer (DH), Davis Schneider (LF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Bo Bichette (2B), Alejandro Kirk (C), Daulton Varsho (CF), Ernie Clement (3B), Myles Straw (RF) and Andrés Giménez (SS).

The 27-year-old has been shelved since early September due to a left knee sprain. It sounds like he’s still not 100 percent and it’ll be interesting to see how he’s deployed — whether it’s strictly as a designated hitter or if the Jays will slide him over to second base — but it sounds like they’ll have his bat at their disposal as they kick off the Fall Classic on Friday night against the Dodgers. Ty France was also added to the Jays’ roster for the World Series while Joey Loperfido and Yariel Rodriguez were removed.

Bichette definitely isn’t going to be moving as well as usual, and Andrés Giménez is surely the better shortstop of the two even when Bichette is 100 percent. Still, it’d be risky to throw Bichette into a new position in the biggest games of the year. The Jays do have the option of playing George Springer in the outfield to open up the DH spot for Bichette. They’ll be weakening the defense either way, but it’d be worth it if Bichette resembles his usual self offensively.

Toronto manager John Schneider told reporters prior to the winner-take-all affair that Bichette has been making significant progress behind the scenes. It appears the 27-year-old shortstop will be on the club’s World Series roster, barring an unexpected development. His return would provide a definite spark to the top of the order. He’s been on the shelf since early September recovering from a PCL sprain in his right knee. The Blue Jays won’t have to make an official decision on his status until later this week.

Bichette was left off Toronto’s ALCS roster earlier this month but it sounds like there’s growing optimism he could return if the Blue Jays win Game 7 on Monday and advance to the World Series. The 27-year-old impending free agent has been working his way back from a PCL sprain in his right knee that put him on the shelf back in early September.

It’s a borderline shocking development considering Bichette progressed to running the bases earlier this weekend and figured to be available in some capacity at some point during the forthcoming best-of-seven series against the Mariners. The 27-year-old impending free agent has been on the shelf since early September recovering from a PCL sprain in his right knee. He’ll be out until at least the World Series, if Toronto manages to advance past Seattle to the Fall Classic.

Bichette, out with a sprained knee, succeeded in running the bases during workouts Saturday, but was definitely hampered in the process. If he’s activated, it will likely be as a DH or pinch-hitter initially.

Bichette had not resumed running as of Tuesday, so this seems like real progress as he returns from a knee sprain. That said, he did still seem to be limping some while walking, according to The Athletic’s Mitch Bannon.

Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt (back) are also absent from Toronto’s ALDS roster in favor of additional relief depth. Ty France, who has been battling an oblique issue, was also left off. It’ll be Kevin Gausman, Shane Bieber and likely top prospect Trey Yesavage doing the heavy lifting in the best-of-five series. Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Bichette won’t be officially cleared to return until he’s resumed running at full speed and faces some high-velocity pitching again as he continues to recover from a PCL sprain in his left knee that put him on the injured list back in mid-September. The 27-year-old shortstop’s absence should lead to an increased role for switch-hitting slugger Anthony Santander at DH with Ernie Clement taking over at shortstop.

Bichette was placed on the IL with a PCL sprain on September 9th. He sought multiple opinions on the best course of action for his recovery, and while surgery was not recommended, he has been forced to rest and slowly build up his workload. Bichette has been running but has apparently not been progressing as quickly as the Blue Jays had hoped. The team has not officially ruled Bichette out, but his teammate, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., did say, “I hope we win this series and he comes back for the next one.” Manager John Schneider seemed to echo that statement: “That’s another thing you want to play for, to keep going and get him back hopefully in the next round.” Bichette’s absence would be a big one as the Blue Jays face either the Yankees or Red Sox in the ALDS.

Schneider did offer some positivity that Bichette could resume running “hopefully soon.” The hope is that the 27-year-old can return in the ALDS, but the fact that he hasn’t yet been able to put that pressure on his knee suggests that this is far from a lock.

“I’m feeling better. Every day, I’m feeling better,” Bichette said during Sunday’s postgame celebration after Toronto clinched their first AL East division title since 2015. “I don’t know. I don’t have a date, but I will be doing everything that I possibly can to get back.” The 27-year-old shortstop, who is working his way back from a knee sprain, would’ve missed a Wild Card Series matchup this week, but it sounds like he’s optimistic that he’ll be ready in time for Toronto’s ALDS matchup against either New York or Boston.

Schneider added that there’s hope Bichette would be ready to return in time for a Division Series matchup. The 27-year-old shortstop remains limited to light hitting and throwing and has yet to resume running, which would be the final hurdle to clear before a potential return. There should be some additional clarity on his status at some point in the coming days.

It’ll come down to how Bichette’s knee responds while running the bases and moving around during defensive drills before the Blue Jays decide that he’s ready to return. The 27-year-old shortstop is expected to miss the final week of the regular season, but is progressing towards potentially being ready for the start of the playoffs.

Bichette remains without an official return timetable, but Schneider confirmed that he won’t return before the postseason. The 27-year-old shortstop has been diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his left knee and will continue with a rest and rehabilitation approach. There’s optimism he’ll resume baseball activities later this week, which would give him a shot at being ready for the outset of the playoffs. He can be safely dropped in all re-draft fantasy leagues.

While second opinions are usually bad news, Bichette’s recent doctor’s visit for his PCL sprain confirmed that his injury is “expected to improve with rest and rehabilitation.” There is hope that he will be ready to go when the Blue Jays take the field for the postseason, so Toronto getting a bye would be extremely important for them. Of course, we also need to see just how quickly Bichette’s injury responds to the rest, so this is a situation to monitor, but he can be dropped in all redraft leagues.

Bichette hit the injured list last week after being diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his left knee. The 27-year-old shortstop will continue receiving treatment as the club gathers multiple medical opinions before determining his next steps. With only two weeks left in the regular season it’s challenging to envision a scenario where he makes it back before the postseason. He remains without an official return timetable at the moment.

Schneider added that Bichette underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed the sprain after experiencing leg soreness over the weekend. It sounds like he’s going to wind up missing a significant portion, if not all, of the remaining two-plus weeks of the regular season. It’ll be Ernie Clement taking over as Toronto’s primary shortstop with recently added veteran Isiah Kiner-Falefa getting opportunities as well.

Bichette was able to resume playing Saturday after hurting his leg sliding into catcher Austin Wells in the game against the Yankees, but he sat out Sunday. The word then was that it was his shin, which sustained a cut, that was the problem, but it turns out that wasn’t the whole truth. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will likely play pretty regularly while Bichette is out.

Bichette’s absence is notable considering he appeared to suffer an apparent left leg injury on a tag play at home plate during Saturday’s rain-soaked affair at Yankee Stadium. The 27-year-old appears to be fine physically since he remained in the contest following a lengthy rain delay, but he’s likely getting some extra time off out of an abundance of caution. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status heading into next week.

After catching the throw, Austin Wells legally blocked home plate as Bichette was sliding in, resulting is an out and an apparent shin injury that Bichette was struggling to put weight on while limping off the field. However, there was a 106-minute rain delay prior to the start of the next inning, and Bichette was able to take the field once play resumed. He doubled, walked and scored the Jays’ only run in the contest.

Bichette’s homer gave the Jays a 3-2 lead before they went on to lose 5-4. It was his fourth four-hit game during the second half. He’s batting .374/.420/.557 since the break, and he’s the major league leader with 176 hits on the season.

Bichette led off the fourth inning with a base hit, then singled and scored in the sixth before collecting his third hit with a single in the seventh. Bichette would start as the runner on second in the tenth inning and score his second run to put the Blue Jays ahead. And with the game extended into the 12th, he drove in the winning run on a single for his fourth hit. The 27-year-old shortstop is having a tremendous season, slashing .302/.345/.468 with 16 homers, 69 runs scored, 83 RBI, and four steals across 574 plate appearances.

Bichette spearheaded Toronto’s relentless offensive onslaught at high-octane Coors Field by taking Rockies starter Kyle Freeland deep for his 16th round-tripper of the season. The 27-year-old impending free agent tallied seven hits in 17 at-bats, including three homers and 10 RBI during the three-game series in which Toronto set franchise records for runs (45) and hits (63). He’s shown zero signs of slowing down during his bounce-back campaign, hitting .386 (32-for-83) in 19 games since last month’s All-Star break.

The Jays had 25 hits, including two from every spot in the lineup. It’s Bichette’s first two-homer game since 2022. He had eight such games from 2019-22, including one with three homers, but he’d gone nearly three seasons since without one. He also doubled his season-high RBI total and pushed his OPS over .800, to .809, for the first time since the sixth game of the year. It’d be nice if he stole a base once in a while — he had four in his first 34 games but none in 77 games since — but he’s otherwise met expectations in a rebound campaign.
