Bichette led off the home half of the first inning with a single and rode home on Brett Baty’s three-run blast. He then reached on a passed ball in the second inning, swiped second base and scored on an RBI double off the bat of Luis Robert Jr. The 28-year-old infielder then smacked a bases-clearing three-run double off of Anthony Banda with two outs in the eighth inning, snapping a 7-7 tie and proving to be the difference in the ballgame. With the three-hit attack, Bichette is now hitting .238/.270/.314 with one homer, 12 RBI and one stolen base through his first 111 plate appearances with the Mets.

Bichette crushed a 111.5-mph liner to center in the fourth today, but Pete Crow-Armstrong caught it pretty easily. It was the hardest-hit ball of the season for Bichette, so that’s something. Still, it hasn’t really been exit velocity that’s been his problem to date; that he’s striking out and hitting grounders more than usual are his issues. He’s also seemingly been pretty unlucky; he entered today with a .227 average but a .290 xBA.

Bichette had an excellent day at the plate, starting with a base hit in the first inning to put the Mets on the board with a run. He then drew a walk in the third before taking Jacob Lopez deep for a two-run blast in the fifth for his first home run as a Met. Bichette drew another walk in the seventh to reach for a fourth time. The 28-year-old third baseman is hitting .250/.300/.328 with nine RBI over his first 70 plate appearances.

Deep breaths, Bichette is starting to find his swing a bit. Two hits in this game give him 10 across his last seven games and his batting average thankfully no longer starts with a one. There still hasn’t been much power, but he’s beginning to get his sea legs under him with his new ball club.

No boos Monday. Bichette drove in a run on a fielder’s choice in the first, and then singled home a run in the fifth. The long-timer Blue Jay has not had much success in his first four games as a Met as seen in a .105 average and slugging percentage, but there’s very little reason to think Bichette won’t be just fine in 2026.

We wonder if Bichette is a little too worried about his defensive play right now, because it’s really not like him to rack up eight strikeouts in three games like this. Last year, he never had consecutive games in which he struck out more than once. Now he’s started off three, two and three and picked up just one hit in the process. He might be in line for an early day off this week against the Cardinals. The Mets need to get Mark Vientos a start one of these days anyway.

Bichette manufactured all of New York’s runs in this one, scalding a two-run double against Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara in the third inning before taking top pitching prospect Robby Snelling deep in the seventh. It was his first round-tripper of the spring. The 28-year-old will make the transition to third base in his Mets debut and will be a top-10 fantasy option at shortstop in drafts this spring.

It’s way too early to draw any firm conclusions, but the social media chatter hasn’t been overly positive as Bichette transitions to the hot corner in his Mets debut. His defense will be picked apart throughout spring training but there are few reservations from an offensive standpoint, which is the primary concern for fantasy managers. New York has already confirmed that he won’t take over at shortstop temporarily while Francisco Lindor recovers from a hamate injury. The other notable developments here are fellow offseason acquisition Marcus Semien in the leadoff spot with Juan Soto heading over to left field. Here is the full lineup: Semien (2B), Soto (LF), Bichette (3B), Tyrone Taylor (CF), Ronny Mauricio (SS), MJ Melendez (RF), Austin Barnes (C), Jose Rojas (1B) and Chris Suero (DH).

The order, assuming Francisco Lindor is healthy enough to play on Opening Day, would be Lindor, Juan Soto batting second, and then Bichette hitting third. Presumably, Jorge Polanco would follow Bichette in the cleanup spot. It seems likely that Bichette will get plenty of RBI opportunities batting behind Soto, should this order come to fruition.

Bichette will make $42 million per year, with opt outs after each season, and he gets a full no-trade clause. The Mets intend to deploy Bichette at third base, a position he’s never played before as a pro. That’ll likely result in Brett Baty logging outfield time, though he should remain very much a part of the Mets’ plans. Bichette is a little weaker of a fantasy bet in Citi Field than he would have been in Philly or back in Toronto, but hitting next to Juan Soto in the top-third of the order is still pretty nice. He’s a borderline top-10 fantasy shortstop.

Bichette opened the second inning with a walk as the Blue Jays loaded the bases against Shohei Ohtani, but Andrés Giménez struck out and they came away empty-handed. An inning later, George Springer led off with a single, was sacrificed to second, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was intentionally walked to bring up Bichette — who promptly ambushed a first-pitch slider for a 442-foot, three-run homer (110.1 mph EV) to give Toronto an early lead. He later added a one-out single off Blake Snell in the ninth before being lifted for a pinch-runner. The 27-year-old impending free agent wrapped up the World Series slashing a strong .348/.444/.478 slash line with one homer and six RBI across seven games, setting himself up for a potentially massive multi-year payday in free agency this winter.

Bichette came off the bench as a pinch-hitter during Saturday evening’s Game 2 loss at the Rogers Centre after making his first professional start at the keystone during the Fall Classic opener. The Blue Jays will continue to manage his workload the rest of the way as the 27-year-old impending free agent is coming back from a PCL sprain in his right knee that put him on the shelf in early September. No real changes otherwise from Toronto manager John Schneider as the best-of-seven series heads to Los Angeles with Tyler Glasnow on the hill for the Dodgers. Here’s the full lineup: George Springer (DH), Nathan Lukes (LF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Bichette (2B), Daulton Varsho (CF), Alejandro Kirk (C), Addison Barger (RF), Ernie Clement (3B) and Andrés Giménez (SS).

Isiah Kiner-Falefa is at second base with Bichette on the bench to open Saturday’s showdown at the Rogers Centre. The 27-year-old impending free agent made his first-ever appearance at the keystone during the Fall Classic opener and went 1-for-2 with a walk in his first game action since September 6. It doesn’t come as a total surprise that the Blue Jays are going to be extremely cautious with his workload considering the nature of the right knee injury he’s working his way back from. The other notable change for Toronto is Addison Barger entering the lineup after slugging a pinch-hit grand slam during Friday’s series-opening victory. Here’s the full lineup: George Springer (DH), Nathan Lukes (LF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Alejandro Kirk (C), Daulton Varsho (CF), Ernie Clement (3B), Barger (RF), Kiner-Falefa (2B) and Andrés Giménez (SS).

Bichette makes his highly anticipated return to the Jays’ lineup and should provide a boost to an offense that was already firing on all cylinders heading into the fall classic. Here’s the full lineup that the Jays will roll out against left-hander Blake Snell on baseball’s biggest stage on Friday: George Springer (DH), Davis Schneider (LF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Bo Bichette (2B), Alejandro Kirk (C), Daulton Varsho (CF), Ernie Clement (3B), Myles Straw (RF) and Andrés Giménez (SS).

The 27-year-old has been shelved since early September due to a left knee sprain. It sounds like he’s still not 100 percent and it’ll be interesting to see how he’s deployed — whether it’s strictly as a designated hitter or if the Jays will slide him over to second base — but it sounds like they’ll have his bat at their disposal as they kick off the Fall Classic on Friday night against the Dodgers. Ty France was also added to the Jays’ roster for the World Series while Joey Loperfido and Yariel Rodriguez were removed.

Bichette definitely isn’t going to be moving as well as usual, and Andrés Giménez is surely the better shortstop of the two even when Bichette is 100 percent. Still, it’d be risky to throw Bichette into a new position in the biggest games of the year. The Jays do have the option of playing George Springer in the outfield to open up the DH spot for Bichette. They’ll be weakening the defense either way, but it’d be worth it if Bichette resembles his usual self offensively.

Toronto manager John Schneider told reporters prior to the winner-take-all affair that Bichette has been making significant progress behind the scenes. It appears the 27-year-old shortstop will be on the club’s World Series roster, barring an unexpected development. His return would provide a definite spark to the top of the order. He’s been on the shelf since early September recovering from a PCL sprain in his right knee. The Blue Jays won’t have to make an official decision on his status until later this week.

Bichette was left off Toronto’s ALCS roster earlier this month but it sounds like there’s growing optimism he could return if the Blue Jays win Game 7 on Monday and advance to the World Series. The 27-year-old impending free agent has been working his way back from a PCL sprain in his right knee that put him on the shelf back in early September.

It’s a borderline shocking development considering Bichette progressed to running the bases earlier this weekend and figured to be available in some capacity at some point during the forthcoming best-of-seven series against the Mariners. The 27-year-old impending free agent has been on the shelf since early September recovering from a PCL sprain in his right knee. He’ll be out until at least the World Series, if Toronto manages to advance past Seattle to the Fall Classic.

Bichette, out with a sprained knee, succeeded in running the bases during workouts Saturday, but was definitely hampered in the process. If he’s activated, it will likely be as a DH or pinch-hitter initially.

Bichette had not resumed running as of Tuesday, so this seems like real progress as he returns from a knee sprain. That said, he did still seem to be limping some while walking, according to The Athletic’s Mitch Bannon.

Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt (back) are also absent from Toronto’s ALDS roster in favor of additional relief depth. Ty France, who has been battling an oblique issue, was also left off. It’ll be Kevin Gausman, Shane Bieber and likely top prospect Trey Yesavage doing the heavy lifting in the best-of-five series. Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Bichette won’t be officially cleared to return until he’s resumed running at full speed and faces some high-velocity pitching again as he continues to recover from a PCL sprain in his left knee that put him on the injured list back in mid-September. The 27-year-old shortstop’s absence should lead to an increased role for switch-hitting slugger Anthony Santander at DH with Ernie Clement taking over at shortstop.

Bichette was placed on the IL with a PCL sprain on September 9th. He sought multiple opinions on the best course of action for his recovery, and while surgery was not recommended, he has been forced to rest and slowly build up his workload. Bichette has been running but has apparently not been progressing as quickly as the Blue Jays had hoped. The team has not officially ruled Bichette out, but his teammate, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., did say, “I hope we win this series and he comes back for the next one.” Manager John Schneider seemed to echo that statement: “That’s another thing you want to play for, to keep going and get him back hopefully in the next round.” Bichette’s absence would be a big one as the Blue Jays face either the Yankees or Red Sox in the ALDS.

Schneider did offer some positivity that Bichette could resume running “hopefully soon.” The hope is that the 27-year-old can return in the ALDS, but the fact that he hasn’t yet been able to put that pressure on his knee suggests that this is far from a lock.

“I’m feeling better. Every day, I’m feeling better,” Bichette said during Sunday’s postgame celebration after Toronto clinched their first AL East division title since 2015. “I don’t know. I don’t have a date, but I will be doing everything that I possibly can to get back.” The 27-year-old shortstop, who is working his way back from a knee sprain, would’ve missed a Wild Card Series matchup this week, but it sounds like he’s optimistic that he’ll be ready in time for Toronto’s ALDS matchup against either New York or Boston.

Schneider added that there’s hope Bichette would be ready to return in time for a Division Series matchup. The 27-year-old shortstop remains limited to light hitting and throwing and has yet to resume running, which would be the final hurdle to clear before a potential return. There should be some additional clarity on his status at some point in the coming days.

It’ll come down to how Bichette’s knee responds while running the bases and moving around during defensive drills before the Blue Jays decide that he’s ready to return. The 27-year-old shortstop is expected to miss the final week of the regular season, but is progressing towards potentially being ready for the start of the playoffs.

Bichette remains without an official return timetable, but Schneider confirmed that he won’t return before the postseason. The 27-year-old shortstop has been diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his left knee and will continue with a rest and rehabilitation approach. There’s optimism he’ll resume baseball activities later this week, which would give him a shot at being ready for the outset of the playoffs. He can be safely dropped in all re-draft fantasy leagues.

While second opinions are usually bad news, Bichette’s recent doctor’s visit for his PCL sprain confirmed that his injury is “expected to improve with rest and rehabilitation.” There is hope that he will be ready to go when the Blue Jays take the field for the postseason, so Toronto getting a bye would be extremely important for them. Of course, we also need to see just how quickly Bichette’s injury responds to the rest, so this is a situation to monitor, but he can be dropped in all redraft leagues.
