The 27-year-old left-hander underwent surgery in June to repair a UCL injury in his left elbow. He underwent the internal brace procedure instead of the traditional Tommy John surgery, which is why his timeline to return is a bit quicker. Even on the conservative side, it sounds like he’ll be back with the Rangers before the All-Star break in 2026.

The 27-year-old southpaw underwent the internal brace procedure instead of the traditional Tommy John surgery, which should shave a couple of months off of the timeline for his return. It will be determined at the time of the surgery whether it’ll be Tommy John or an internal brace. Either way, he figures to miss the start of next year, though internal brace surgery could have him back in May or June. Tommy John would likely put him out at least through September. Bradford hadn’t pitched this season after hurting his elbow this spring. He had a 3.54 ERA in 13 starts and one relief appearance last year.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters they’re aiming to have Bradford built up to handle roughly five innings by early July. The 27-year-old lefty would presumably be an option for the club’s rotation mix at that point. He’s been out since spring training recovering from an elbow sprain.
