Burger has raised his average from .232 to .275 by going 9-for-24 with three homers and 10 RBI in his last six games. We’d still expect him to wind up closer to .232 at season’s end, but even then, he might be enough of a run producer to contribute in mixed leagues.

Burger draws his first off day of the season following 17 consecutive starts at the cold corner. The 30-year-old slugger has put together a resurgent campaign so far with four homers and 12 RBI during that span. Joc Pederson makes a rare appearance at first base in his absence.

It’s always nice to enjoy a double burger every once in a while. Burger took Luis Severino deep twice; once on a solo shot, the other a three-run blast. The 30-year-old’s second season with Texas is off to a better start than his first campaign, and he’s now up to 11 RBI with a .492 slugging percentage through 15 games.

Burger is enjoying a good start at the dish. After going deep in Thursday’s opener, he went yard again Saturday with a two-run blast off Aaron Nola in the third inning. He later added a single in the eighth for his second hit of the game and fifth through two contests. Burger was limited to 103 games last season, but still managed 16 homers. There’s plenty of power here if he can stay off the injured list.

The Rangers were scoreless until Burger took Kyle Backhus deep in a 5-0 game in the ninth. Burger, though, had already had a pretty nice day by that point. It’s his first three-hit game since last Aug. 16. The 29-year-old needs to take a step forward against righties to be a useful regular for the Rangers, but as the likely everyday cleanup hitter for now, he should offer mixed-league value.

Burger is up to four homers this spring as looks to bounce back from a 2025 in which he missed time with injury and hit just .236/.269/.419. He’s probably never going to be a very good regular unless he can do something about the K/BB ratio, but the Rangers are committed to him and his 30-homer power could give him some value in mixed leagues.

The 29-year-old slugger clobbered a 388-foot (104.4 mph EV) three-run shot off of Cole Ragans in the top half of the first inning, increasing the Rangers’ early lead to 4-0. He also added an RBI single fourth inning that tied the score at 8-8. With his two-hit attack, Burger is hitting .333 (6-for-18) with a pair of homers and five RBI to start the spring.

Burger’s titanic blast to straightaway center field left his bat at 110.6 mph and traveled 434 feet, per Statcast. The 29-year-old first baseman dealt with oblique, quad and wrist issues that limited him to just 103 games during his Rangers debut last season. Avoiding prolonged absences make it relatively easy to envision a return to the 30-homer plateau for the first time since 2023.

The agreed upon amount comes in slightly under the $3.5 million that Burger was projected to earn by MLBTradeRumors.com. His first season with the Rangers didn’t go according to plan, as the 29-year-old slugger slashed a meager .236/.269/.419 with 16 round trippers and 53 RBI in 376 plate appearances. He’s still locked in as the team’s starter at first base though and should be a popular bounce-back candidate heading into 2026 fantasy drafts.

This was a lingering issue for Burger that stems from an injury he suffered in mid-August. The first baseman received a cortisone injection for the wrist injury, “which gave him some relief, but when the anti-inflammatory effects ebbed, he could once again feel the tendon popping in and out of place for the final weeks of the season.” Injuries piled up for Burger this season, as he went to the IL three times with oblique, quadriceps, and wrist injuries. Assuming he heads into spring training healthy, Burger could be a solid value in fantasy baseball drafts, given how injuries derailed his 2025 season

Even with the Rangers out of contention, they’d rather start Rowdy Tellez than Burger against right-hander, which, unless Burger is limited by injury and no one is saying, would seem to suggest that the 29-year-old doesn’t have much of a future in Texas. The Rangers parted with three prospects to acquire Burger from the Marlins last winter, but he’s hit just .237/.267/.422 in 367 plate appearances this season. On the other hand, he’s only eligible for arbitration for the first time this winter, so he won’t be overly expensive ($4 million?) to keep.

Burger also walked. He’s 8-for-28 with four homers and a triple since coming off the injured list last week, and his OPS is up to .729, which is the highest he’s been after any game this season.

Burger is back as the Rangers’ everyday first baseman, so he’s worth considering in mixed leagues, especially since he’s batting cleanup of late. He’s 5-for-18 with two homers and five RBI in five games this month. He was also 9-for-21 with one homer last month in between IL stints, so overall, he’s hit .359/.390/.667 in 14 games since the All-Star break.

Burger’s home run was his 13th of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Colton Gordon in the third inning. Burger has appeared in only 87 games for the Rangers this year as he’s dealt with injuries and been sent down. He’s hitting .243 with a .703 OPS and 44 RBI.

It sounds like Burger will be one of the additions for the injury-plagued Rangers when rosters expand on September 1. The 29-year-old first baseman has been out since mid-August recovering from a left wrist sprain.

Rangers president Chris Young told reporters Burger underwent an MRI that revealed a sprain after his early exit from Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays. The 29-year-old slugger heads back to the injured list for the third time this season as he’s been unable to shake the injury bug.

The encouraging development here is that Burger hasn’t been placed on the injured list heading into a four-game set against Kansas City. The 29-year-old power hitter exited Sunday’s game with left wrist discomfort and is set to undergo an MRI to determine whether he’s dealing with any structural damage. It’ll be Rowdy Tellez filling in at the cold corner in his absence.

Burger was pulled from Sunday’s game due to left wrist discomfort, but it appears that it could be something more serious than that. Look for the Rangers to provide another update on his status prior to Monday’s series opener against the Royals.

Burger finished 1-for-3 with an RBI before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the late stages of the contest. The 29-year-old power-hitter will presumably head for further evaluation and testing to determine the extent of the issue. There should be an update on his status ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Royals.

Burger sat in favor of Rowdy Tellez the last three days before getting the nod against Zac Gallen today. His homer came off Gallen, and he later added a single against fellow righty John Curtiss. We’ll have to wait and see whether this keeps him in the lineup against the Jays’ Chris Bassitt on Friday. Burger might still be of interest in mixed leagues if he resumes playing regularly.

Rowdy Tellez is batting .303/.333/.485 in 15 games since joining the Rangers, and until he cools off, it looks like Burger is going to be stuck on the short side of a platoon role. He can’t really complain, either, given that he’s hit .220/.248/.376 with a 61/5 K/BB in 226 plate appearances against righties this season.

The 29-year-old slugger had been sidelined since July 13 due to a strained quad. Prior to being shelved, he had been hitting .228/.259/.401 with 11 homers, 35 RBI and one stolen base in 286 plate appearances. He’ll add some thump to the middle of the Rangers’ lineup.

This was Burger’s first game at Triple-A after going 0-for-8 in two games for Double-A Frisco. He Rangers may not want to rush him back since Rowdy Tellez is playing well, but Burger is certainly almost ready.

Burger went 0-for-8 in two games for Frisco. Had he hit right away on the rehab assignment, maybe he’d have been activated during the current series against the Yankees. As is, the Rangers will go a little longer with Rowdy Tellez, who has an .883 OPS in 12 games for his new club.

Burger has been snake-bitten by injuries this season with his latest physical ailment putting him on the shelf during the All-Star break. The 29-year-old slugger should be ready to return at some point next week.

Burger is making progress from the quad injury that has sidelined him two weeks ago, and Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that Burger is aiming for a return to the lineup August 8. It’s possible that the 29-year-old will need a rehab assignment, but this doesn’t appear to be an injury that will cause Burger to miss the rest of 2025.

No surprise here after Burger missed the final two games of the first half with a lingering quad issue. The 29-year-old slugger has been snake-bitten by injuries this season in his Rangers debut, landing on the injured list on three separate occasions already. No word yet on the severity of the strain, which will determine how much time he misses, but it doesn’t figure to be a lengthy absence. It’ll likely be some combination of versatile Josh Smith and bench infielder Ezequiel Duran filling the void at the cold corner for a couple weeks.

Ezequiel Duran will take over at first base. Burger was in Texas’ initial lineup for Sunday’s first-half finale, but he’s going to sit out his second straight game after exiting Friday’s contest with left quad discomfort. The 29-year-old slugger should be ready to roll following next week’s All-Star break.

Burger is back at DH and batting seventh on Sunday afternoon following a brief one-game absence with left quad discomfort. The 29-year-old corner infielder has been snake-bitten by injuries during his Rangers debut. Hopefully next week’s All-Star break gives him some extended downtime to rest and recover.
