The exact timeline for Betts to make it back to Los Angeles from an oblique strain that put him on the shelf earlier this month remains a bit murky. The fact that he’s swinging a bat again is an extremely encouraging development. The 33-year-old fantasy stalwart is probably going to need a minor league rehab assignment to get his timing back before he’s ready to return.

Betts remains without a definitive timetable to return from a right oblique strain that he suffered while running the bases over the weekend, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts estimated it would be somewhere in the 4-6 week range. The fact that he’s back participating in baseball activities in a limited fashion is an encouraging sign, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until at least early-to-mid May in a best-case scenario.

Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts was hesitant to put a timeline on Betts’ potential return to action, but said he was hopeful that it would be less than the 4-to-6 weeks that is typically seen with an oblique injury. Hyeseong Kim was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his place on the active roster.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called the injury more “moderate than significant” but it sounds like Betts will miss at least the next couple of days. Whether or not this will require a stint on the injured list will largely be determined by the results of the imaging. Miguel Rojas will likely get the starts at short as long as Betts is out.

Betts must have experienced pain while crossing home plate on a run-scoring double by Freddie Freeman. The 33-year-old will miss the rest of Saturday’s contest with Miguel Rojas taking over at shortstop. Betts likely won’t be in the lineup Sunday, either, but his status is one that should be updated prior to that contest.

Miguel Rojas took over at shortstop in the bottom of the first frame after Betts scored a run on a Freddie Freeman double. There should be an update on why Betts needed to leave the game in the coming innings, but logic suggests there was some sort of injury for the 33-year-old while rounding the bases.

Betts smacked a 388-foot (99.5 mph EV) three-run shot off of Ryne Nelson in the third inning that gave the Dodgers a 4-2 lead. That would wind up being his only hit on the night, but it played a key role in the come-from-behind victory. The 33-year-old shortstop is now 2-for-8 (.250) with a homer and four RBi through his first two ballgames.

Betts worked a one-out walk off of Grant Taylor in the sixth inning and ultimately scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Alex Freeland. He bounced into a double play and struck out in his other two plate appearances. For the spring, the 33-year-old shortstop is hitting a solid .313 (5-for-16) though he has just one RBI and has yet to hit a home run or steal a base.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will stick with Betts in the cleanup spot for the winner-take-all affair in Toronto after he delivered a two-run single in Game 6 to help Los Angeles keep their season alive. Here’s the full lineup as the Dodgers attempt to repeat as World Series champions: Shohei Ohtani (P/DH), Will Smith (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Betts (SS), Max Muncy (3B), Teoscar Hernández (RF), Tommy Edman (CF), Enrique Hernández (LF) and Miguel Rojas (2B).

Betts extended the Dodgers’ lead to 3-0 with a two-run single in the third off Kevin Gausman. He also drew a walk. It has not been a great postseason for the 33-year-old star, as seen in a .657 OPS over October, but that hit — and the Dodgers’ pitching — now has Los Angeles just a win away from back-to-back championships. He’ll

With their backs up against the wall and looking to stave off elimination, Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts has opted to shake up his lineup a bit. Miguel Rojas will start at second base while Tommy Edman will move out to center field. Here’s the full lineup that the Dodgers will send out against Jays’ right-hander Kevin Gausman: Shohei Ohtani (DH), Will Smith (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Betts (SS), Teoscar Hernández (RF), Max Muncy (3B), Kiké Hernandez (LF), Tommy Edman (CF) and Miguel Rojas (2B).

The biggest Wild Card mismatch was the one to produce a 2-0 result. Betts wound up 6-for-9 with three doubles in the series, which saw the Dodgers rack up 28 hits and 18 runs in the two games. The Dodgers will move on to play the Phillies in a five-game NLDS beginning on Saturday.

Betts continues to scorch the baseball in September, and he hit one of three homers for the Dodgers on Friday off Robbie Ray. It gives him 20 on the season, and six of those have come since the start of the month. No one was hoping for a .260/.328/.413 slash from Betts, but when you consider just how bad he was for the majority of the season? It’s a little more impressive. Disappointing, to be sure, but a little more impressive.

Betts led off the third inning with a single and scored on a ground out off the bat of Tommy Edman. He also worked Robbie Ray for a walk to open the fifth inning and scored on an RBI double by Freddie Freeman. Betts then started the sixth inning with single and scored on a two-run knock by Miguel Rojas. The 32-year-old infielder has been sizzling at the plate over the past five weeks and is now slashing .263/.332/.410 with 18 homers, 75 RBI and eight stolen bases over 611 plate appearances on the season.

Betts had five RBI in all, reaching that mark for the first time this year and 14th time as a major leaguer. He’s hitting .385/400/.821 with four homers and 15 RBI in nine games this month after already having turned things around by batting .337/.412/.472 in his final 23 games of August.

Betts took Germán Márquez deep for a two-run homer in the third inning, his third homer this month. He later doubled in the sixth for his second hit of the game. The 32-year-old is hitting .255/.324/.397 with 17 homers, 85 runs scored, 69 RBI, and eight steals across 590 plate appearances.

Betts came up huge in the seventh inning to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead with his two-run single, and it also meant that Tyler Glasnow was able to get a win after throwing seven no-hit innings in his return to the bump. Betts has looked oh-so-much better over the past few weeks, and the fact that his slash is still just .253/.323/.389 tells you just how bad the former MVP was prior to the start of August.

Betts’ home run was his 16th of the year. The 32-year-old shortstop has hit two home runs in his last three games. Betts has seen his power drop-off this year. He hit 39 home runs two years ago, but is on pace for a slugging percentage below .400 this year. Betts is hitting .253 with a .713 OPS and 65 RBI.

All three of Betts’ balls in play tonight topped 100 mph, which is encouraging from someone with a career-low hard-hit rate. Still, he’s been trending up there: August was his second-best month of the season there and first in terms of OPS. Through five games this month, he has a 56% hard-hit rate (10-for-18) and three extra-base hits.

The Dodgers get swept by the Pirates, but at least they weren’t blanked twice in a row? Betts’ 15th homer raised his OPS to .701. It’s the first time he’s finished a game over .700 since June 12.

The 32-year-old shortstop singled off of Brandon Pfaadt in the opening inning and scored on a ground ball off the bat of Andy Pages. He also singled in the fifth inning and scored on an RBI single by Pages. Betts has obviously been a disappointment in 2025, but things have looked considerably better as of late. His solo homer off Sam Moll in the seventh gave the Dodgers a 6-0 lead and Betts his 14th homer of the year. The 32-year-old is still hitting a disappointing just .250 with a .698 OPS over 476 at-bats, but Betts is a good bet — pun absolutely intended — to finish the year on a good run.

It’s a rare off day for Betts, who has finally started to show some signs of life at the dish of late, hitting .295 (18-for-61) with two homers, 10 RBI and one steal over his last 15 games. There’s been some speculation that he’ll be moved to right field in the wake of Teoscar Hernández’s lackluster efforts of late, but that doesn’t appear likely. Miguel Rojas is at shortstop on Wednesday night at Coors Field.

Betts drew a walk off of Yu Darvish in the opening inning on Sunday and rode home on Freddie Freeman’s three-run blast. He then played the role of hero in the eighth inning, clobbering a 2-0 fastball from Padres’ closer Robert Suarez for a 394-foot (102.5 mph EV) solo shot that gave the Dodgers a 5-4 lead and proved to be the difference. Betts finished the day 1-for-3 and is now hitting .242/.312/.371 with just 13 homers, 57 RBI and eight stolen bases across 503 plate appearances in what has been a disappointing campaign for the 32-year-old superstar.

Betts got the Dodgers on the scoreboard with a two-run homer in the fifth off an otherwise-excellent Max Scherzer. He extended the lead for the Dodgers to 3-1 with a fielder’s choice in the seventh. Betts has disappointed in 2025, as he’s hit just 12 homers with 51 RBI combined with an OPS of just .680. There’s still a quarter of the season to improve those numbers, and history suggests he’ll do just that.

Betts is back at shortstop and leading off Sunday afternoon’s showdown at familiar Fenway Park following a two-game absence due to a personal issue, although he did strike out as a pinch-hitter to end Saturday’s game. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart has been mired in an extended offensive tailspin for several weeks and hasn’t shown too many signs that he’s coming out of it. He’ll continue batting leadoff for a loaded Dodgers’ lineup until Max Muncy (knee) is back from the injured list at some point in August.
