Bido bounced around to a few organizations over the offseason and allowed seven runs on seven hits in 10 innings to start the year in Atlanta. If he clears waivers, he could be brought back on a minor league deal.

Bido fortifies Atlanta’s wafer-thin starting pitching depth, which has been ravaged by injuries to Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow), Joey Wentz (knee) and Hurston Waldrep (elbow) this spring. The 30-year-old righty has bounced around between several organizations over the last few months but seems likely to stick with the Braves as a viable swingman capable of gobbling up multiple innings out of the bullpen.

It’s the fifth time since the 2025 season came to a close that Bido has changed teams via waivers — going from the Athletics to the Braves, to the Rays, to the Marlins, to the Angels and now to the Yankees. He’s talented enough that he’s going to keep getting opportunities, though if the Yankees need a 40-man roster spot in the coming weeks, Bido could be on the move once again.

The Angels just claimed Bido off of waivers from the Marlins on Tuesday, but they needed to clear a roster spot after acquiring Jayvien Sandridge from the Yankees on Thursday so Bido got the boot once again. The 30-year-old right-hander has been claimed off of waivers four times already since the 2025 season ended — by the Braves, Rays, Marlins and Angels — so it seems likely that he’ll generate interest once again this time around.

Since the end of the season, Bido has been with the Athletics, Braves, Rays, Marlins, and Angels. We’ll see if it sticks this time. The 30-year-old has flashed some intriguing skills at times and could try to win a spot in the Angels’ rotation out of spring training, but we’d consider him a long shot.

Well, that was quick. Bido’s stint with Atlanta lasted only a couple weeks as he loses his spot on the club’s 40-man roster with shortstop Ha-Seong Kim returning to the fold. The 30-year-old righty posted a calamitous 5.87 ERA — 6.07 FIP — across 79 2/3 innings over 26 appearances (10 starts) this past season for the Athletics. He figures to latch on somewhere as a versatile swingman heading into next season.

Bido, 30, was successful in 2024 with a 3.47 ERA for the Athletics, but struggled in 2025 with a 5.87 mark over 79 2/3 innings. The right-hander will have a chance to earn a spot on the Atlanta staff in spring training.

The 26-year-old right-hander spent the previous two seasons in the Cardinals’ organization. In 2025, he registered an underwhelming 5.12 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and a 62/24 K/BB ratio across 58 innings between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis. He’ll function as added bullpen depth for the Red Sox.

Bido was lit up for six runs over 1 2/3 innings in Thursday’s loss to the Dodgers, so this move doesn’t come as a major surprise. He’ll attempt to work through his issues at the Triple-A level for the time being before potentially rejoining the A’s rotation later in the season.

Bido allowed one of the three homers by Jasson Dominguez, and also gave up a roundtripper to Paul Goldschmidt. He allowed eight hits in the contest while walking two, but he was at least able to pick up six strikeouts. Bido is a tough sell when he’s pitching in a literal Triple-A ballpark, and he’s struggled in his last two outings to see his ERA push up to 4.75. He likely won’t have much fun next week when he squares off against the Dodgers.

Bido surrendered a two-run homer to Kyle Stowers in the third inning. The Marlins would later put two more runs on the board in the fifth on a walk, double, and sacrifice fly. Bido’s day would be done after five frames. He struck out four. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 4.71 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and a 21/14 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings into a start against the Yankees in Sacramento on Friday.

Joshua Palacios homered to start the game, but that was the lone run the A’s surrendered through nine innings. Bido was effective despite striking out just one. He’s totaled three strikeouts over 16 innings in his last three starts, compared to 14 in 15 innings in his first three. That he’s been successful in two of these recent outings anyway was undoubtedly influenced by the competition (he also held the White Sox to one run on Apr. 16). He has another rather easy matchup coming up against the Marlins, making him a decent streaming option.

The Rangers put two runs on the board against Bido with a walk, two hits, and a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Wyatt Langford then took him deep for a solo homer to lead off the third inning. Josh Smith added a run with a solo shot in the fifth before Marcus Semien piled on with a three-run blast. The barrage continued into the sixth with Jake Burger adding a solo homer before Bido was relieved with one out at 91 pitches. The 29-year-old right-hander saw his ERA rise from 2.61 to 4.85 with a 1.58 WHIP and a 16/10 K/BB ratio across 26 innings. He’ll take on the White Sox in Sacramento on Sunday.

You don’t often see a pitcher not get a single strikeout and give up just a run in five-plus innings, but Bido showed it’s possible Wednesday. It probably helps when you’re facing a team as bad as the White Sox, but it still counts. Bido has gotten quality results so far with a 2.61 ERA, but his inability to miss bats makes him a risky venture whenever he’s on the mound. That next time comes against the Rangers on Tuesday.
