Bliss was making his way back from a torn biceps suffered in April before suffering torn meniscus cartilage while playing for Triple-A Tacoma. It makes for an entirely lost season that the 25-year-old could ill afford. Bliss, who made the Mariners out of spring training, went 7-for-35 in 11 games before getting hurt. He’ll be an underdog to win a spot with Cole Young and Leo Rivas likely lined up at second base next spring.
