Bieber’s return is a major boost for Toronto’s rotation, as he’s opted to stay with the Blue Jays for at least another season to rebuild his long-term value before hitting free agency. It’s a massive surprise given how strong he looked in October and how many teams likely would’ve shown interest in a far more lucrative multi-year deal. The 30-year-old former fantasy ace made just seven regular-season starts this year in his return from Tommy John surgery but posted a solid 3.86 ERA over 18 2/3 innings during the postseason. He’ll projects as a top-50 fantasy starter next spring despite some clear durability concerns.

Bieber came through with an impressive effort in a critical spot for the Blue Jays to help them to even the Fall Classic after dropping an 18-inning marathon in Game 3 less than 24 hours earlier. The 30-year-old former Guardians ace wasn’t overpowering, but he managed to settle in after giving up a second-inning sacrifice fly to Enrique Hernández, keeping Los Angeles off the scoreboard into the sixth. He was lifted with one out in the frame after giving up singles to Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernández but got some help from reliever Mason Fluharty, who stranded both inherited runners to keep the lead intact. He’s posted a strong 3.57 ERA across 17 2/3 innings over four starts this postseason and figures to be available in relief for the rest of the series, if needed.

Bieber surrendered a run-scoring single to Josh Naylor in the opening frame and a go-ahead homer to Julio Rodríguez in the third. He was lifted in the fourth inning after issuing a two-out walk to Victor Robles. The 30-year-old righty wasn’t as effective as his Game 3 outing earlier in the series, but he played a key role in helping get Toronto to the Fall Classic.

A very impressive effort. It didn’t start that way, as Bieber walked Randy Arozarena to begin the game, and with one out gave up a long homer to Julio Rodríguez and a double to Jorge Polanco. From that point on, the right-hander was excellent, striking out eight and giving up only two more hits before exiting. Bieber was shaky in his start against the Yankees, but this was the version — possibly to a lesser extent — that was so good with Cleveland prior to his injuries. He’ll likely be the starter for Game 7 if the Blue Jays can get there.

Bieber struggled in his first playoff start this season against the Yankees, allowing three runs, two earned, in 2 2/3 innings in a Game 3 loss. In his career, he has a 5.23 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 24/7 K/BB ratio in 20 2/3 postseason innings across four starts. The Blue Jays are desperate for him to shake out of that rut and deliver a big performance to keep in the series.

Bieber was staked to an early two-run advantage before taking the mound at Yankee Stadium and received a full touchdown worth of run support by the time he went back out for the third. He gave up three consecutive hits to open the frame and departed after a two-out walk with the lead slashed in half. It wasn’t the extended outing Toronto probably envisioned, but Bieber managed to avoid an all-out disaster and keep the lead intact.

Bieber punched out three batters on the evening while allowing two free passes. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball with Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda each belting solo shots in the second inning. The 30-year-old hurler got nine swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He concludes the regular season with a solid 4-2 record, 3.57 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 37/7 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings in seven starts following his return from Tommy John surgery. He has certainly set himself up for a large payday heading into the open market.

Schneider declined to name a starter for Thursday’s series finale against the Red Sox until after Wednesday’s showdown, but it sounds like José Berríos is a potential option. Bieber will get some extra rest before facing the Rays, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, with rookie Trey Yesavage being pushed back to Saturday.

The 30-year-old hurler struck out four batters on the evening while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on back-to-back solo homers from Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth inning. Unfortunately, that was enough to stick him with a loss in this one. Bieber got seven swings and misses on 87 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 23 percent. He now holds a 3.57 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 34/5 K/BB ratio over 35 1/3 innings on the season. He’ll make his final start of the regular season on Thursday against the Red Sox.

Bieber struck out four batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. He served up a two-run homer to Carlos Correa in the opening inning, then kept the Astros off the board until Yainer Diaz smacked a two-out RBI double to chase him in the sixth inning. Bieber generated 10 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the night — five on his slider — while registering a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll carry a 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 25/3 K/BB ratio (23 innings) into Sunday’s showdown against the Orioles.

Bieber hit his first speed bump after reeling off a pair of exceptional outings after making his season debut back on August 22. He deserves a ton of credit for shaking off a disastrous second inning where the Reds got to him for five runs in the frame and was able to pick up a win after Toronto’s red-hot lineup supplied him with nearly two touchdowns worth of run support. He struck out six and issued a pair of walks. He’ll face the Astros on Wednesday in his next outing.

The 30-year-old right-hander racked up nine strikeouts in his return from Tommy John surgery and didn’t walk a batter. The only blemish on his night came on a solo blast from Javier Sanoja on the 10th pitch of his at-bat in the second inning. Aside from that, Bieber was in complete command. He generated 15 swings and misses on 87 pitches on the night — seven of those on his slider — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to replicate this terrific effort when he takes on the Twins at home on Wednesday.

It’s time. Bieber makes his long-awaited return from last year’s Tommy John surgery on Friday night against the Marlins at loanDepot park. The 30-year-old former fantasy ace gets a tasty matchup right out of the gate and should be rostered in all fantasy formats based on how he looked during his extended minor league rehab assignment. There shouldn’t be a governor on his workload with Toronto chasing a playoff berth over the final five weeks of the season.

It’s official. Bieber will make his long-awaited return from last year’s Tommy John surgery later this week at loanDepot park. The 30-year-old former fantasy ace will be making his first big-league start since April 2, 2024. He’s an intriguing pickup for fantasy purposes, even in shallow mixed leagues, since he’s flashed some strikeout upside in recent rehab outings.

The 30-year-old hurler didn’t walk a batter while striking out four batters in the contest. Now it’s just up to the Blue Jays to decide who to bump from their rotation to accommodate Bieber’s return or if they’re going to roll with a six-man rotation for the time being. Fantasy managers should be able to welcome Bieber back to their lineups next weekend.

Bieber got up to 78 pitches in his latest rehab outing with Blue Jays manager John Schneider telling reporters afterwards that he probably needs one additional tune-up start before making his Toronto debut. The 30-year-old righty should make his long-awaited return to the big leagues at some point in late August.

Schneider added that Bieber will make his next minor league rehab start on Saturday for Triple-A Buffalo. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers stashing the former fantasy ace since it pushes back his potential Toronto debut until at least mid-to-late August. The 30-year-old righty struck out si over five innings on Sunday in his latest rehab outing, throwing 62 pitches in the process.

Bieber made a strong impression during his first rehab outing in Toronto’s organization, throwing 62 pitches (47 strikes) and allowing just six baserunners over five frames. He averaged 92.9 mph on his fastball and touched 94 mph a couple times. The 30-year-old right-hander could potentially make his next start in the majors as he’s pretty much wrapped up his lengthy rehabilitation process from last year’s Tommy John surgery.

The 30-year-old right-hander threw a bullpen on Friday without any issues. Beiber is expected to need at least two rehab starts with his new ballclub before he’s ready to join the Jays’ rotation for the stretch run. He could wind up being an impact addition in fantasy leagues over the final month and a half of the season.

The gambling investigation into Luis L. Ortiz and Emmanuel Clase has pushed the Guardians to sell, and now they’ll say goodbye to their long-time ace. Bieber is probably two or three weeks away from returning to the MLB mound as he returns from Tommy John surgery, but he will immediately be the most-talented pitcher on the Blue Jays staff if healthy.

Bieber just completed a rehab start at Double-A that saw him strike out seven over four innings and 57 pitches. With the Blue Jays sitting pretty in the playoff race, they can be cautious with their plan for Bieber and give him another two or three starts in the minors before activating him. If healthy, Bieber will give the Blue Jays another top-tier arm in their rotation, and with a $16 million player option for next season, there’s a chance that he stays in Toronto next year as well.

Bieber was slated to make his latest minor league rehab outing over the weekend for Triple-A Columbus, but that contest was postponed due to rain. The 30-year-old former fantasy ace, who has garnered some buzz as a potential trade candidate of late, will draw plenty of attention during his next tune-up as he draws closer to making his season debut.

Bieber (elbow) has restarted his rehab process after undergoing Tommy John surgery in the off-season and experiencing a setback in June. He looked good in his start at High-A Lake County on Tuesday, and Passan believes that, if his stuff looks good enough, “high-payroll teams could see him as a risk worth taking.” The biggest hurdle is that Bieber has a $16 million player option for next season, so if there’s a risk that he is not the same pitcher as he was before the surgery, teams may not want to be on the hook for that salary in 2026.

Bieber looked sharp in his first game action since suffering a setback last month during the late stages of his rehabilitation from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old righty is going to need a handful of additional rehab outings to continue building up his pitch count and stamina, but he should make it back to Cleveland at some point in August.
