Bibee issued a pair of walks, and the second free pass saw him leave the contest. The right-hander did strike out five, but after 87 pitches Cleveland decided to turn to their bullpen. It wasn’t a terrible start, and it certainly kept the Guardians in the must-win game. Bibee will likely start Game 3 in Cleveland against the Mariners if the Guardians win Thursday.

This always seemed like a logical option once Gavin Williams was announced as the Game 1 starter. Joey Cantillo should be able to provide bulk innings out of the bullpen for this series.

That’s back-to-back wins for Bibee against the Tigers. He concludes September 3-0 with a 1.30 ERA to finish the regular season 12-11 with a 4.24 ERA. Back in early July, before he remembered how to win, he was at one time 4-9 with a 4.20 ERA.

A three-game sweep has brought the Guardians within 3 1/2 games of the Tigers in the AL Central and 1 1/2 games back of the Red Sox for the third wild card spot. Bibee and Tarik Skubal pitched to a draw today, but the Guardians got two runs in the top of the seventh to put Bibee in line for the win, which evened his record at 11-11. He has a 1.25 ERA in his last three starts. Most likely, he’ll be matched up again with Skubal with the Tigers in Cleveland next week.

Bibee gave up two hits, walked none and struck out 10. The 26-year-old right-hander allowed three total baserunners with two hits and a hit batter. Bibee entered play Friday with a 4.69 ERA, far worse than the 3.47 and 2.98 ERAs he had in his first two seasons. He has a 4.44 ERA and 149/50 K/BB ratio in 170 1/3 innings this year. Bibee is lined up to face the Tigers on the road next week.

Bibee held the Rays scoreless over four innings before giving up a solo homer to Josh Lowe in the fifth. A double, bunt, and groundout put a second run on the board for Tampa in the sixth. Bibee recorded the first two outs in the seventh and was relieved with a runner on at 92 pitches with three strikeouts. The 26-year-old right-hander will take a 4.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 139/50 K/BB ratio across 161 1/3 innings into a start against White Sox in Cleveland on Friday.

Bibee gave up six hits, walked two and struck out four. The 26-year-old right-hander has allowed at least four runs in his last eight consecutive starts. Bibee has a 4.77 ERA and 136/49 K/BB ratio in 154 2/3 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Rays on the road next weekend.

Bibee kept Tampa Bay scoreless in the early stages of the contest before issuing a bases-loaded walk to Hunter Fedduccia and giving up a run-scoring single to Bob Seymour. Things went downhill from there as Junioe Caminero and Yandy Díaz connected for homers before a rain delay ended his evening at the outset of the seventh. He finished with three strikeouts and issued three walks. He’ll aim for better results next time out when he faces the Mariners at home on Sunday.

Bibee tossed two scoreless innings, then surrendered a solo homer to Jake McCarthy to lead off the third. A triple and a groundout brought a second run in to score in the fourth before the Diamondbacks plated two more runs on three hits in the fifth. Bibee would record the first two outs in the sixth, ending his day at 92 pitches with five strikeouts. The 26-year-old right-hander will carry a 4.62 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 129/44 K/BB ratio across 142 1/3 innings into a start against the Rays in Cleveland on Monday.

With Bibee’s stuff having declined this year, he really needs to be much sharper in terms of limiting walks. However, he issued four for a second straight outing against a non-powerhouse offense tonight (it was the White Sox last time out). Bibee had a 26.3% strikeout rate and a 6.2% walk rate last year. He’s at 21.4% and 7.6%, respectively, right now. He’s due to face the Diamondbacks next.

Bibee gave up five hits, walked four and struck out seven. The 26-year-old right-hander allowed four runs for the third consecutive start and issued multiple walks for the third time in his last five starts. Bibee was the beneficiary of nine runs of support, otherwise he wouldn’t have won his eighth game of the season. He has a 4.60 ERA and 119/39 K/BB ratio in 131 innings this year. Bibee is lined up to face the Marlins at home next week.

Bibee wasn’t great, but he also wasn’t very fortunate in giving up four soft hits, including a couple with xBAs of .010 and .050. He struck out five and finished with a nice 32% CSW. He’ll still be a nice play next week against the White Sox.

Bibee, who gave up two-run homers to Freddy Fermin and Bobby Witt Jr., got the win, making him 7-9 with a 4.39 ERA. It’s the third time this season that he’s struck out at least eight, though his 21.2% K rate is way off last year’s mark of 26.3%. Still, a 107/33 K/BB isn’t too bad. He’ll face the Twins next week.

All of the runs came in the first three innings. After that, Bibee faced the minimum through the seventh, with the only batter reaching being immediately erased on a double play. Bibee struck out four and walked none. It’d be nice if he were getting more strikeouts, but he is still missing bats; he had 15 whiffs in the 86-pitch outing tonight. He’ll get the Royals next.

Bibee held the White Sox scoreless through three innings before running into some trouble in the fourth. Chicago strung together four straight hits to bring in two runs. Bibee tossed one more inning, ending his day with five strikeouts over five frames. The 26-year-old right-hander will end the first half with a 4.29 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and a 95/33 K/BB ratio across 109 innings.

All of the runs came in the fifth on 368- and 373-foot homers from Taylor Trammell and Isaac Paredes. Bibee actually had a no-hitter going through four, though it wasn’t shaping up as a particularly long outing for him anyway. He should bounce back against the White Sox on Saturday.

Bibee cruised through the first two innings of this one without allowing a hit while his team spotted him a three run lead. Then, the Cubs rallied for two runs in the third inning with runners on first and second with nobody out. Bibee had to bear down in that moment to strike out the next three batters and end the threat. It took him more than 30 pitches to get through that frame though and they put up three more the following inning to knock him out of this game early. He could not get anyone to chase his sweeper which forced him into too many long at-bats and late count fastballs, which the Cubs were able to fight off or hit through a hole. His poor season will forge on next time out against the Astros.

All three runs scored in a third inning that opened with a soft flyball single and featured two HBPs, three Kyle Manzardo errors and a wild pitch. Outside of that inning, Bibee allowed just one hit and no walks. Bibee fell to 1-6 over his last nine starts, even though he has a 3.49 ERA and a 54/10 K/BB over that span. He’s set to face the Cubs next.

Calling this start a mixed bag is an understatement. He struck out 10 and went the distance, but he also allowed 11 hits. One of those hits was a two-run homer by Nick Kurtz in the first inning, and he also allowed runs to score in the second, seventh and eighth. Weird. Bibee now has a 4-7 record with a 3.86 ERA, and he’ll try to improve both against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Bibee allowed just two hard-hit balls tonight, but the Mariners managed to scrape together two runs in the first and that was enough to leave Bibee with a no-decision. He’ll bring a 3.79 ERA into his next start against the A’s.

It’s deja vu all over again for Bibee. Just like earlier this week against the Yankees, Bibee was cruising into the seventh inning before starting to give up contact. Bibee had thrown six shutout innings, allowed just two hits, and struck out six while keeping his pitch count under 80 total pitches heading into the seventh inning. He then gave up a one-out single to Yainer Diaz before a jam-shot 66 mph single off the bat of Jake Meyers moved Diaz to third base. After Meyer stole second, Cam Smith got the benefit of a friendly two-strike ball call and then laced a double to the wall on the next pitch. Despite not having a win to show for it, these last two outings have been a step in the right direction for Bibee, who will take a 3.81 ERA into a start in Seattle next week.

Bibee was outstanding for six innings before giving up back-to-back homers to Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Anthony Volpe in the seventh. The Guardians couldn’t pick him up, so he lost for the fourth time in his last five starts, even though he has a 3.45 ERA during that stretch. At least he’s throwing considerably better than he did at the beginning of the year. He’ll be worth using in mixed leagues versus the Astros this weekend.

Shohei Ohtani’s homer accounted for two of the runs. It wasn’t the ideal result for Bibee, but it’s still nice to see him striking out seven against a top offense. He has a 2.93 ERA over his last six starts, and he’s 4-5 with a 3.86 ERA overall. He’ll likely face the Yankees in New York next time out.

Bibee bounced back nicely after giving up all five runs and eight hits in the first three innings, but the damage was done in what turned out to be a 5-4 loss. With four strikeouts today, he still hasn’t fanned more than five batters in any of his nine starts this season. He’s keeping the Guardians in games with his 4.06 ERA, but his ceiling seems so much lower than it did last year. He’ll face the Twins next.

Bibee allowed five hits, walked none and struck out three before coming out. It’s the fourth time this season that he’s allowed one or no runs, but he’s won just one of those games. He’s 3-3 with a 3.80 ERA overall ahead of a date with the Reds in Cincinnati.

Bibee came out to warm up for the sixth inning, but wound up signaling for a trainer and immediately departed the contest. The 26-year-old righty was charged with three runs — two earned — over five innings before departing. He struck out three and issued two walks. The hope for the Guardians and fantasy manager is that his early exit was merely for precautionary reasons. There should be an update on his status shortly.

It’s a more effective outing for Bibee, but he recorded just four missed swings tonight. On the other hand, his 95.5 mph average on his fastball was his season best by a full 1.2 mph, and he got 30 foul balls in the 106-pitch outing. We’ll choose to be encouraged. He’s 2-2 with a 5.19 ERA overall as heads into a home start against the Twins next week.

Bibee allowed only six hard-hit balls, but three of those turned into homers. A couple of those homers would have stayed in play in other parks (one was a homer in 15 parks, another a homer in six), but that’s not to say Bibee was good. He again lacked command, and four walks tonight gave him a 12.6 percent walk rate through four starts. That’s double last year’s mark of 6.2 percent. At least his new cutter was effective tonight. Maybe Bibee will wind up being a disappointment this year, but it’s hard to see him remaining bad like this. He is benchable with the Yankees next on the schedule.
