Bibee finished with six strikeouts and handed out three free passes. He gave up only four hits with a fifth-inning single by Jonathan Aranda representing the lone tally against him. Unfortunately, he got zero run support and was saddled with a tough-luck loss. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 32/14 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings over seven starts into a road tilt against the division-rival Royals on Monday to open a two-start week.

The Astros opened the top of the first with a Carlos Correa double and a Yordan Alvarez homer for what turned out to be the only runs in a 2-0 game. Bibee fell to 0-3, with the Guardians having scored a total of two runs in his losses. His ERA stands at 4.45, though eight of his 15 runs allowed came in one outing. He’ll pitch at home against the Rays next time out.

Bibee and Chris Bassitt traded zeroes through the early part of this game in a finesse pitcher’s duel. He leaned on his cutter as primary pitch and it beautifully set up his changeup and curveball. Combined, those three pitches accounted for 15 of his 17 total swings-and-misses and it’s great to see his cutter back working as a plus pitch. His results on the season haven’t been great so far – even still with a 4.81 ERA after six scoreless innings – but that cutter is the key to him regaining something near his 2024 form. He’s scheduled to face the Astros next time out.

Bibee, who struck out four and walked one, wasn’t quite crushed in a game in which the Guardians decided to punt defense. (David Fry caught for only the second time this season, and Steven Kwan sat against Chris Sale.) He allowed 11 hits but eight hard-hit balls, only one of which topped 102 mph. It was the bottom half of the Braves order that did most of the damage tonight, as Ozzie Albies, Dominic Smith, Mauricio Dubón and Jorge Mateo combined for seven hits off Bibee, including the lone homer from Smith. Bibee’s ERA stands at 6.38, but his 18/6 K/BB in 18 innings is fine. He still figures to offer some mixed-league value in a nice situation in Cleveland, but his ceiling isn’t what it was. He’ll face the Orioles next.

Bibee retired the eight and nine hitters to open the fifth but then gave up a double to Maikel Garcia and an infield single to Bobby Witt Jr. while facing them for the third time. The Guardians lifted him, and Tim Herrin retired Vinnie Pasquantino to preserve a 1-1 tie. Bibee has a nice enough 3.29 ERA after three starts, but after leaving his first start with shoulder inflammation, he hasn’t had the chance to complete five innings in his last two outings. He’ll likely face the Braves on Sunday.

Bibee got the go-ahead to make his scheduled start after exiting his Opening Day game with shoulder inflammation. He stranded one baserunner in each of the first three innings before the Dodgers brought a run in on three hits in the fourth. Bibee’s day would be done after four frames at 74 pitches. He struck out four on seven swinging strikes. Bibee’s fastball velocity was one to watch. The four-seamer seemed to wane after the first inning, falling from 95 mph to 92 mph, but it might have been a classification issue as his sinker held strong at 95 mph. Rain throughout the game could also have played a role. Still, it was a good result overall. The 27-year-old right-hander should go back into fantasy lineups when he takes on the Royals in Cleveland on Monday.

Bibee completed a 26-pitch bullpen session over the weekend without any issues and has been cleared to take the ball against the two-time defending World Series champions in Los Angeles. It’s such a daunting matchup that fantasy managers were likely strongly considering alternatives to begin with this week. The positive news is that Bibee won’t require a trip to the injured list after exiting his season-opening start against the Mariners last week with shoulder inflammation.

If his arm bounces back on Sunday, he’s likely to make his next start as scheduled Tuesday against the Dodgers. Of course, that is a tough assignment, and since the Guardians are off Thursday, it’s likely to be Bibee’s only start of the week. It probably makes sense to sit him in mixed leagues.

“He’s doing much better,” Vogt told reporters on Friday after Bibee was removed from Thursday’s season-opening start against the Mariners with right shoulder inflammation. The 27-year-old right-hander is officially day-to-day for now, but it sounds like there’s a realistic chance he takes the ball on Tuesday night. He’s scheduled to throw a bullpen session this weekend to determine whether he’s ready. It’s a tough spot for fantasy managers since Bibee is likely to have some workload restrictions while also facing an extremely challenging Death Star-caliber lineup. It’s a positive sign that he might avoid a trip to the injured list, but fantasy managers should probably leave him on the bench next week.

That’s no good. Bibee was removed while warming up for the sixth inning tonight. After the game, he said the injury was a new one, and he got to the point where he felt like he “couldn’t battle through it.” Given his comments, even if the injury proves to be relatively minor, we imagine he’ll spend some time on the IL. Logan Allen is the obvious choice to replace him in the Cleveland rotation, though the Guardians could recall Codi Heuer until a start is needed against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Bibee came back out for the sixth after allowing three runs in five innings, but something happened during warmups that resulted in a visit from the trainer. Manager Stephen Vogt followed and lifted Bibee from the tie game. Bibee struck out seven before leaving. Three solo homers accounted for all of the damage against him. If Bibee misses some time, Logan Allen would presumably be recalled to replace him in the rotation.

Bibee was left in to get the pitch count up, and thankfully it happened in exhibition season. The right-hander allowed two homers, and in his final two spring starts he gave up a total of 23 hits and 14 runs. Not great. Bibee’s next outing comes Opening Day against the Mariners.

Bibee gets the nod after going 12-11 with a 4.24 ERA in 2025 for the Guardians and helping Cleveland secure a postseason berth. He’s a solid if unspectacular fantasy option for 2026, and it’s worth noting that first start will come in the cool Seattle weather in a pitcher-friendly park.

Bibee had been looking pretty strong this spring, but his fastball was down one mph today and the A’s really punished him for hanging around the strike zone. He threw 85 pitches to 30 hitters, with 25 of those getting put into play for 15 hard-hit balls and three homers. Hopefully, his velocity will return next time out.

Bibee struck out six and didn’t hand out a free pass, scattering four hits. He built up his workload to 71 pitches (52 strikes) in his latest outing and holds a microscopic 2.13 ERA across 12 2/3 innings of work this spring. There seems to be a wide range of opinions on the 27-year-old righty but he’s comfortably in the top-50 range among starting pitchers this spring and fits nicely as a SP3 in fantasy rotations.

The 27-year-old right-hander punched out four batters on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. He plunked Luisangel Acuna to start the game, then didn’t allow another baserunner until Brooks Baldwin singled with one out in the third. That would be it. Bibee generated five whiffs on 46 pitches on the night, posting a solid CSW of 30 percent. Through his first three spring starts he now holds a 3.00 ERA, 0.56 WHIP and a 5/0 K/BB ratio over nine innings.

Bibee allowed all three runs in the first, with one coming on a solo homer from Sam Antonacci. He settled down over his final two frames to end the outing on a good note. Bibee will likely get a chance to work up to four frames in his next Cactus League outing.

Bibee recorded one strikeout and allowed just one baserunner, needing 32 pitches (17 strikes) to spin a pair of frames. His fastball velocity – 94.6 mph – was right in line with last year’s average, which is a positive sign. The 26-year-old righty underwhelmed last season with a 4.24 ERA – 3.62 xERA – and 162/54 K/BB ratio across 182 1/3 innings over 31 starts. He projects as a low-upside top 60 range starting pitcher that will go right around pick 200 in most fantasy drafts this spring.

Bibee issued a pair of walks, and the second free pass saw him leave the contest. The right-hander did strike out five, but after 87 pitches Cleveland decided to turn to their bullpen. It wasn’t a terrible start, and it certainly kept the Guardians in the must-win game. Bibee will likely start Game 3 in Cleveland against the Mariners if the Guardians win Thursday.

This always seemed like a logical option once Gavin Williams was announced as the Game 1 starter. Joey Cantillo should be able to provide bulk innings out of the bullpen for this series.

That’s back-to-back wins for Bibee against the Tigers. He concludes September 3-0 with a 1.30 ERA to finish the regular season 12-11 with a 4.24 ERA. Back in early July, before he remembered how to win, he was at one time 4-9 with a 4.20 ERA.

A three-game sweep has brought the Guardians within 3 1/2 games of the Tigers in the AL Central and 1 1/2 games back of the Red Sox for the third wild card spot. Bibee and Tarik Skubal pitched to a draw today, but the Guardians got two runs in the top of the seventh to put Bibee in line for the win, which evened his record at 11-11. He has a 1.25 ERA in his last three starts. Most likely, he’ll be matched up again with Skubal with the Tigers in Cleveland next week.

Bibee gave up two hits, walked none and struck out 10. The 26-year-old right-hander allowed three total baserunners with two hits and a hit batter. Bibee entered play Friday with a 4.69 ERA, far worse than the 3.47 and 2.98 ERAs he had in his first two seasons. He has a 4.44 ERA and 149/50 K/BB ratio in 170 1/3 innings this year. Bibee is lined up to face the Tigers on the road next week.

Bibee held the Rays scoreless over four innings before giving up a solo homer to Josh Lowe in the fifth. A double, bunt, and groundout put a second run on the board for Tampa in the sixth. Bibee recorded the first two outs in the seventh and was relieved with a runner on at 92 pitches with three strikeouts. The 26-year-old right-hander will take a 4.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 139/50 K/BB ratio across 161 1/3 innings into a start against White Sox in Cleveland on Friday.

Bibee kept Tampa Bay scoreless in the early stages of the contest before issuing a bases-loaded walk to Hunter Fedduccia and giving up a run-scoring single to Bob Seymour. Things went downhill from there as Junioe Caminero and Yandy Díaz connected for homers before a rain delay ended his evening at the outset of the seventh. He finished with three strikeouts and issued three walks. He’ll aim for better results next time out when he faces the Mariners at home on Sunday.

Bibee tossed two scoreless innings, then surrendered a solo homer to Jake McCarthy to lead off the third. A triple and a groundout brought a second run in to score in the fourth before the Diamondbacks plated two more runs on three hits in the fifth. Bibee would record the first two outs in the sixth, ending his day at 92 pitches with five strikeouts. The 26-year-old right-hander will carry a 4.62 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 129/44 K/BB ratio across 142 1/3 innings into a start against the Rays in Cleveland on Monday.

With Bibee’s stuff having declined this year, he really needs to be much sharper in terms of limiting walks. However, he issued four for a second straight outing against a non-powerhouse offense tonight (it was the White Sox last time out). Bibee had a 26.3% strikeout rate and a 6.2% walk rate last year. He’s at 21.4% and 7.6%, respectively, right now. He’s due to face the Diamondbacks next.

Bibee gave up five hits, walked four and struck out seven. The 26-year-old right-hander allowed four runs for the third consecutive start and issued multiple walks for the third time in his last five starts. Bibee was the beneficiary of nine runs of support, otherwise he wouldn’t have won his eighth game of the season. He has a 4.60 ERA and 119/39 K/BB ratio in 131 innings this year. Bibee is lined up to face the Marlins at home next week.
