The Astros only had three hits and one run on the day, so Correa was essentially their whole offense. The veteran went 3-for-12 with three runs scored and a home run in his first three games back with his old team. Having shortstop and third base eligibility will be a nice boost to his fantasy value.

Correa officially rejoins the team that he broke into the big leagues and became a superstar with before joining the Twins prior to the 2022 season. This time around, he’s expected to function as the team’s primary third baseman with Isaac Paredes (hamstring) done for the season. Those cash considerations isn’t likely to be substantial, as the Astros are picking up most of the money remaining on the 30-year-old’s six-year, $200 million contract. Correa has hit just .267/.319/.386 with seven homers, 31 RBI and zero stolen bases in 364 plate appearances on the season.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today had reported earlier in the day that the talks between the two sides were “all but dead”, which seems to have injected just enough life back into the deal for the Astros and Twins to push it across the finish line. No word yet on what the Twins will be receiving in return for the 30-year-old shortstop, but those details should come out shortly. MLB Network’s Jon Morosi adds that the Astros are picking up the majority of the remaining salary on Correa’s six-year, $200 million contract, which runs through at least 2028 before hitting a series of team options.

He adds that the Astros wanted the Twins to pay about $50 million of the $102.5 million is owed through 2028 and to also send them an unnamed outfielder. The Twins would want to shed more salary that that to make a deal palatable.

Correa was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox after feeling lightheaded, and Brooks Lee promptly replaced him and hit two home runs. Lee will start at shortstop and bat second on Wednesday with Correa on the bench. We should also note that Correa has been linked to the Astros with the trade deadline looming, so there’s a chance that he has played his last game for the Twins.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli confirmed to Twins broadcaster Audra Martin that Correa was lifted from the contest after feeling some lightheadedness. He was replaced at shortstop by Brooks Lee in the third inning after recording a single in his lone plate appearance. There should be an update on his status following the game.

Correa is back at shortstop and batting cleanup on Sunday afternoon at Target Field following a one-game absence due to a mild right ankle sprain. It’s an extremely encouraging development for Minnesota, and fantasy managers, that he’s feeling well enough to get back in the lineup ahead of next week’s extended All-Star break. It looked scary initially when the 30-year-old got hurt on Friday night, but he should be a full-go for the start of the second half.

No surprise here after Correa was diagnosed with a mild right ankle sprain that he suffered during Friday’s series opener. The 30-year-old shortstop seems like a virtual lock to sit out Sunday’s first-half finale for precautionary reasons, but there’s a decent chance he’s ready to return following next week’s extended All-Star break. It’ll be former top prospect Brooks Lee filling in at shortstop in his absence.

The positive news for fantasy managers is that Correa appears to have avoided significant injury after suffering a scary-looking right ankle injury during Friday night’s contest against the Pirates. The Twins plan to keep him out of Saturday’s lineup as a precautionary measure and it wouldn’t be surprising if he sat out Sunday’s first-half finale as well. He’ll have plenty of time to recover during next week’s extended All-Star break.

The Twins plan to keep him out on Saturday as a precautionary measure after suffering a scary ankle injury during Friday night’s contest against the Pirates, but fortunately it sounds like he was able to avoid serious injury. Look for him to be available off the bench on Saturday before returning to the Twins’ lineup for Sunday’s first half finale.

Correa took a throw from the outfield at the second base bag and made a nice tag on Tommy Pham sliding in, but Pham slid into what looked like his ankle causing his injury. He required assistance from the training staff to hobble off the field afterwards. The 30-year-old shortstop will head for additional evaluation and the Twins should have an update on his status shortly.

It’s just a routine day off for the veteran, who hit .269 in 24 games in June with two home runs, 11 runs scored, and 10 RBI. He will be replaced at shortstop by Brooks Lee today as Lee continues to play every day by moving all around the infield.

Correa went back-to-back with Trevor Larnach in the sixth inning to get the Twins to within five runs at 7-2. It’s just the sixth homer of the season for the 30-year-old shortstop, and he’s still slugging just .392 after the roundtripper. Correa has been known to go on power streaks, so perhaps this will be the start of one. It’s hard to count on at this point, however.

Correa is at shortstop and batting third for Saturday afternoon’s matinee at Target Field following a three-game absence due to back tightness. Correa has been battling a lingering back issue for the past few days, but it doesn’t sound like he’s heading back to the injured list. The 30-year-old shortstop figures to return to Minnesota’s lineup at some point this weekend. He’s day-to-day for now.

Correa was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with a sore back, and the Twins claim they’re being extra cautious with their starting shortstop and plan to have him back in action on Friday. However, Correa has battled injuries throughout his career, and back injuries tend to linger, so even though Correa has blamed the batter’s box in Detroit for his back pain, it’s a situation we should monitor. Brooks Lee will start at shortstop and bat eighth on Thursday.

It’ll be Brooks Lee taking over at shortstop on Wednesday night against the Athletics. Correa has started 11 of 12 contests since returning from the concussion injured list back on May 23. The move sounds precautionary in nature since he was in the club’s original lineup. Back issues can be tricky matters so fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on his status heading into Thursday’s series finale.

Correa launched a 417-foot shot off of reliever Garrett Cleavinger at 108.8 mph for his fourth home run of the season. He also had a 109.8 mph lineout in this one and seems to be seeing the ball well in just his second game off the concussion IL.

The Twins were playing shorthanded without Correa, Byron Buxton and Harrison Bader, so eventually something had to give. He’ll have to pass through the concussion protocol before he’s cleared to rejoin the team. Brooks Lee should continue to see action at shortstop while Correa is shelved.

Both Correa and Buxton are out of the lineup a day after leaving Thursday’s game against the Orioles after a head-on collision in the field. Both are in the concussion protocol, and there’s a good chance they won’t be available for Saturday’s game as well. Brooks Lee is playing shortstop and hit third against the Brewers.

Correa capped off a five-run uprising off of Cade Povich in the third inning with a 458-foot (109.0 mph EV) two-run shot that made it a 5-0 ballgame. He also tacked on a run-scoring single in the seventh inning for good measure. With the three-hit attack, Correa is now hitting .233/.270/.341 to go along with two homers and 12 RBI through his first 35 ballgames on the season.
