Denzel Clarke struck out all four times up against the Astros on Wednesday.

Clarke’s first five major league games have seen him go 1-for-17 with 13 strikeouts and no walks. The A’s made the switch to Clarke in center field in large part because he’s an outstanding defender, and they’re not expecting a ton of offense here. Still, they can’t keep running him out there if he’s truly this overmatched at the plate.
