As in the first two games of the series, it’s Randy Arozarena (LF), Cal Raleigh (C), Julio Rodríguez (CF), Jorge Polanco (2B), Josh Naylor (1B), Eugenio Suárez (3B), Canzone (DH), Victor Robles (RF) and J.P. Crawford (SS). Canzone is 0-for-6 in the series and 1-for-12 overall in the postseason, but the Mariners aren’t looking to try anything different while being up 2-0.

The Mariners are going with their typical lineup against righties. It’d be interesting to know if any thought was given to starting Game 5 hero Leo Rivas at second and putting Jorge Polanco at DH, stregthening the defense some. The team, though, is sticking with Canzone, who went 1-for-6 with one RBI during the ALDS. The lineup: Randy Arozarena (LF), Cal Raleigh (C), Julio Rodríguez (CF), Polanco (2B), Josh Naylor (1B), Eugenio Suárez (3B), Canzone (DH), Victor Robles (RF) and J.P. Crawford (SS).

The Mariners had gotten shut out through four innings before Canzone put the team on the board with a solo homer in the fifth off McCade Brown. It was the 11th homer of the season for the 28-year-old outfielder. He’s slashing .297/.353/.485 with 28 runs scored and 30 RBI across 252 plate appearances.

It feels really weird not to lead the recap with this kind of performance, but Canzone’s homers were his eighth, ninth and 10th of the season, which doesn’t quite measure up to Cal Raleigh hitting his 55th and 56th. Still, it’s a remarkable performance from a 28-year-old with an excellent .304/.363/.491 line in 237 plate appearances. He joins Kyle Stowers, Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers in collecting five hits and three homers in a game this season. It’s actually happened as many times this season as it had the previous six years combined. He’s just the second Mariner ever to do it; Mickey Brantley went 5-for-6 with three homers against Cleveland in 1987.

Canzone is back in right field and batting seventh following a six-game absence after being hit by a pitch on the left wrist. The 28-year-old received a cortisone injection a couple days ago and is feeling much better. The hope here is that he should be ready to roll moving forward, which is important with Victor Robles, who is out of the lineup on Tuesday night, likely to have the appeal for his league-issued 10-game suspension heard in the coming days.

Canzone is available off the bench on Monday night but remains out for the sixth straight contest since being hit by a pitch last week on the left wrist. He’s feeling better after receiving a cortisone injection a couple days ago. His starting role has ostensibly gone to Victor Robles, who remains in Seattle’s lineup while awaiting a ruling on the appeal for his impending 10-game suspension. There’s a lot going on here, but the short version is that the Mariners have the ability to give Canzone an extended break to rest and recover at the moment.

Canzone has managed to avoid a trip to the injured list, but he’s out of the lineup for the fifth straight contest after being hit by a pitch earlier this week on the left wrist. His ongoing absence is a bit easier to absorb with Victor Robles back in the outfield mix.

Canzone sat out his third consecutive game on Friday night after being hit by a pitch on the left wrist earlier this week. X-rays didn’t reveal any fractures at the time, so he’s presumably day-to-day heading into the weekend.

No surprise here after Canzone was drilled by a pitch on the left wrist during Monday’s contest. The 28-year-old outfielder will get some extra time off to rest and recover with an off day before Friday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Canzone had his left wrist wrapped and is dealing with some residual stiffness after being drilled by a pitch during the late stages of Monday’s game. He’ll likely need a couple days off until the swelling subsides, but should avoid a trip to the injured list after initial X-rays came back negative for any fractures. Dylan Moore is in right field on Tuesday night.

Canzone was drilled in the lower left arm by a pitch during the seventh inning of Monday’s lopsided defeat at the hands of the Phillies. He remained in the contest initially, but appeared to be in a great deal of pain. He was eventually lifted in the ensuing frame. It’s likely he’ll get some extra time off to rest and recover.

Canzone has seven hits the last two days and is now hitting .333/.355/.589 with six homers in 93 plate appearances. It’s tough projecting him for lasting fantasy value, given that he’s a platoon player who doesn’t steal bases and plays in a notoriously difficult ballpark for offense. Still, he’s making a lot of hard contact while striking out only 17% of the time since his callup.

Canzone’s home run was his fifth of the season and fourth in his last seven games. The 27-year-old outfielder is playing regularly against right-handed pitching and the homers make him somewhat interesting in deeper formats.

Canzone returns to the majors with Seattle moving on from Leody Taveras ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks. The 27-year-old outfielder appeared in two games earlier this season and has been extremely productive at Triple-A Tacoma, slashing .296/.360/.564 with 13 homers and three steals across 45 games in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

Canzone went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts over two games with Seattle after being called up earlier this week. The 27-year-old will head back to the minors to allow the Mariners to bring up some infield depth.
