Chourio will require a few additional tune-up contests in the minors to get back up to speed before making his season debut in early May. The 22-year-old fantasy superstar has been working his way back from a fractured hand that he suffered late in spring training.

Chourio will likely play a handful of games with the Sounds. The 22-year-old has a great chance to get back into the lineup early next week, and his power/speed combination will be a welcome return for both the Brew Crew and fantasy managers.

Chourio progressed to on-field batting practice Wednesday for the first time since hitting the shelf with a fractured hand on Opening Day last month. The 22-year-old franchise cornerstone figures to be ready to get into minor league action early next week and should be ready for his season debut at some point in late April or early May.

It’ll be Chourio’s first time taking on-field swings since hitting the injured list with a fractured hand on Opening Day last month. The 22-year-old fantasy superstar will likely require a brief minor league rehab assignment to get back up to speed, but he could potentially return to Milwaukee’s lineup by the end of the month.

The 22-year-old outfielder finally appears to be making some tangible progress toward a return to action, though he’s still not expected to rejoin the Brewers until early May provided everything continues to go smoothly in his recovery. The next step should be for him to face live pitching.

Chourio is still estimated to return to the lineup for the Brew Crew near the end of April. The 22-year-old talent will likely need at least a handful of rehab games before being able to return, and when those games will take place will be largely determined by the results of said imaging.

Chourio unexpectedly hit the injured list with a fractured hand just hours before Milwaukee’s Opening Day contest last week. The 22-year-old fantasy standout has progressed to running, throwing and tracking pitches, but hasn’t been cleared to resume swinging a bat. There should be a definitive timetable for his return following his next checkup.

Well, that’s a brutal blow on Opening Day. Chourio apparently suffered the injury in the World Baseball Classic, but the X-rays didn’t show a clear fracture. However, he aggravated the injury on a check swing this week, and that’s when further imaging revealed a hairline fracture. The Brewers claim he will be out anywhere between two and four weeks, but considering how important he is to the team and that the season is just starting, we would expect him to be out closer to a month. Blake Perkins was called up to take his spot on the roster, but Jake Bauers, who is fresh off a tremendous spring, could get the first look in the starting lineup.

Chourio’s homer was the first of the spring season. Despite the lack of power, he’s performed well in his limited Cactus League action with a line of .320/.393/.480. There are very, very few players who have as much upside in their bat as Chourio does, and it’s worth noting that he just turned 22 less than two weeks ago.

Chourio was hit in the wrist Wednesday and the outfielder was unable to play Friday or Saturday with the contusion. The 21-year-old should be good to go in the contest against Nicaragua, and there’s no reason to think it’ll carry over into the regular season at this point.

Chourio was hit by a pitch in Wednesday’s game, but the imaging revealed that it was a “soft tissue” contusion, meaning none of the bones in his hand and wrist showed any damage. He will be able to run and play defense, but Team Venezuela, in conjunction with the Brewers, decided it was best to play it safe and have him not hit for at least one game. There is no reason to have any long-term concern here.

Chourio picked up a pair of the Brewers’ five hits on the game a day after leaving with cramps in his hamstring. The 21-year-old was excellent for the Brew Crew in the postseason, but the season is over for the ever-so-talented outfielder and the 97-win Milwaukee club. Chourio has fantasy superstar potential, and should be an early-round target in all eligible formats in 2026.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters afterwards that Chourio was having continual cramps after fouling off a two-strike offering from Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen in the seventh inning, which led to his exit from the contest. Murphy added that the 21-year-old superstar will continue receiving treatment and there’s optimism he’ll be ready for Friday’s win-or-go-home Game 4 showdown in Los Angeles.

Chourio was forced to exit mid–at-bat with an apparent right leg injury. He immediately grabbed at his right hamstring after fouling off a two-strike pitch from Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen in the seventh inning, with Milwaukee trailing by two runs at the time. The 21-year-old franchise cornerstone was unable to put enough weight on his leg to continue and had to be helped off the field. Chourio has been dealing with a lingering hamstring issue since re-aggravating the injury in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Cubs, and it appeared to flare up again here. The Brewers should provide an update on his status after the contest.

Chourio’s storybook playoff run continued as he took Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto deep for a leadoff homer on the first pitch of the ballgame. The 21-year-old prodigy is poised to re-write Milwaukee’s postseason record books as he’s already tied the franchise record with four big flies in just 10 games. Unfortunately, Milwaukee’s offense was unable to get anything else going against Yamamoto, who wound up going the distance, reeling off eight consecutive scoreless frames to close the contest.

The 21-year-old franchise cornerstone told reporters his right hamstring is feeling close to full strength again after aggravating the issue during last week’s NLDS opener against the Cubs. The Brewers scored all of their runs on homers, with Andrew Vaughn hitting a three-run blast in the first and William Contreras following with a solo shot in the third. Chourio then gave the Brewers a 7-3 lead in the fourth, and that was it for the scoring tonight. The Brewers will go for a three-game sweep of the series Wednesday in Chicago. They still have both Quinn Priester and Jose Quintana available to start after using neither tonight. Jameson Taillon figures to get the ball for the Cubs.

It’s a massive relief for the Brewers after Chourio suffered a right hamstring injury during Milwaukee’s series-opening rout over the weekend. The 21-year-old outfielder went through pregame drills without any issues and has apparently been cleared to return to game action after an initial MRI came back inconclusive, according to Brewers manager Pat Murphy. Here’s the full lineup set to face Cubs southpaw Shota Imanaga in this one: Chourio (LF), Brice Turang (2B), William Contreras (C), Christian Yelich (DH), Andrew Vaughn (1B), Sal Frelick (RF), Caleb Durbin (3B), Blake Perkins (CF) and Joey Ortiz (SS).

Murphy added that Chourio isn’t believed to be dealing with a significant right hamstring injury, but he’ll need to undergo further evaluation to determine his availability for Monday’s pivotal Game 2 showdown in Milwaukee. The 21-year-old franchise cornerstone made a precautionary exit from Game 1 of the best-of-five series with hamstring tightness. There should be a definitive update on his status heading into Monday night’s contest, but it doesn’t sound like he’s going to wind up facing an extended absence, which is a massive relief for the Brewers.

Chourio noted that he feels good and that he’s happy the Brewers came away with a victory on Saturday. He did undergo an MRI after the game, the results of which are not yet known. The dynamic 21-year-old suffered the injury while legging out an infield single in the second inning on Saturday. The built in off-day plays to his advantage here as he should be ready to roll for Game 2 on Monday evening against the Cubs.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed during an in-game interview that Chourio left the early stages contest with a right hamstring injury after legging out an infield single during the second inning of Saturday’s one-sided NLDS opener. The 21-year-old franchise cornerstone missed nearly all of August with a right hamstring strain. He was 3-for-3 with three RBI prior to leaving with Milwaukee leading 9-1 at the time. He’ll undergo further evaluation and imaging to determine the severity of the ailment. An update on his outlook for the remainder of the series should be available following the contest.

Chourio came up limping after beating out a second-inning single for his third hit of the lopsided affair. The 21-year-old franchise cornerstone was immediately lifted for a pinch-runner with Milwaukee holding a commanding 9-1 lead at the time. It’s possible his exit was merely out of an abundance of caution, but it’s certainly a situation worth monitoring closely, especially since he missed nearly one month earlier this season with a hamstring injury.

Chourio tagged Reds’ southpaw Andrew Abbott for a 411-foot solo shot in the sixth inning, pulling the Brewers to within four runs at 7-3. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the night. Chourio drew a one-out walk in the first inning and deftly swiped second base — giving him his 20th stolen base of the season. That made him the youngest player in MLB history to post consecutive seasons with at least 20 homers and 20 stolen bases. The 21-year-old budding superstar is now slashing .269/.308/.458 with 20 homers, 77 RBI and 20 swipes in 579 plate appearances on the year.
