Camargo latches on with Atlanta just a few days after being released by the Twins. The 26-year-old backstop doesn’t have much of a path to at-bats in the big leagues with rookie Drake Baldwin and veteran Sean Murphy splitting the catching duties in the majors. He’ll serve as valuable organizational depth at the Triple-A level.

Camargo, who got into five games for the Twins last season, had spent all year at Triple-A St. Paul and hit .212/.258/.319 in 31 games. This is his first time on waivers, so he’ll have to stay with the club if he clears.
