Chisholm smacked a two-run single off of Lance McCullers Jr. in the opening inning that increased the Bombers’ early edge to 3-0. He then led off the fourth inning with a 393-foot solo shot that made it 5-1. Chisholm then drew a walk in the sixth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly. He also added an RBI single during the Yankees’ four-run rally in the seventh inning before scoring on a double play ball. After being held without a home run in his first 23 games, Chisholm has now gone deep in two consecutive games and has upped his season slash to .213/.300/.337 to go with with the aforementioned two long balls, eight RBI and eight stolen bases.

Chisholm was the only player on the Yankees who was able to do anything against Red Sox’ southpaw Payton Tolle, crushing a 333-foot (98.0 mph EV) solo shot to get the Yankees on the board and even the score at a run apiece in the fifth inning. The dynamic 28-year-old also singled in the seventh inning and scored on Cody Bellinger’s go-ahead two-run single. He’s still off to a rough start overall this season, slashing .188/.274/.282 with one long ball, four RBI and eight stolen bases.

After going hitless against Ranger Suarez, Chisholm is just 2-for-24 with no extra-base hits and nine strikeouts versus lefties this season. He’ll surely bounce back, but with the way he’s looked so far, he might deserve to lose some starts against southpaws after Anthony Volpe returns and José Caballero turns into a utilityman.

It’s just a routine day off for both, but it does come against a left-handed pitcher, so it makes sense for Aaron Boone to choose today as a rest. It’s a little shocking that Jazz has a day off, but struggling Ryan McMahon will be in the lineup against a lefty. Amed Rosario will play second base, and Randal Grichuk will play left field with Cody Bellinger in center.

The game was scoreless until the fifth, when Brazil took a 1-0 lead. Great Britain, though, got a two-run homer from Ian Lewis Jr. in the bottom of the inning and just kept going from there. Great Britain finishes the WBC 1-3, while Brazil was winless in four games. Chisholm, who went 4-for-18 with no extra-base hits and six strikeouts, could be back with the Yankees as soon as Tuesday.

Chisholm’s big fly came against journeyman reliever Eli Villalobos in the eighth inning of this one. The most prominent name on Great Britain’s roster by a considerable margin, the 28-year-old speedster will lead them into their World Baseball Classic opener on Friday against Mexico.

Chisholm, who made $5.85 million last year, is entering his final year of arbitration. There’s been some talk of the Yankees perhaps signing Bo Bichette and trading Chisholm, but even if they do add Bichette, there could be room for both. Chisholm hit .242/.332/.481 with a career-high 31 homers and 31 steals last year. Durability is a concern, but he’s very obviously a top fantasy second baseman.

The dynamic 27-year-old infielder singled and scored on an error by Nathaniel Lowe during the Yankees’ four-run uprising off of Connelly Early in the fourth inning. He also led off the sixth inning with a single but was ultimately erased on a fielder’s choice. The Yankees will now travel to Toronto where they’ll match up against the Blue Jays in the ALDS.

New York forces a winner-take-all showdown on Thursday night at Yankee Stadium by narrowly staving off elimination in this one. Chisholm, who opened Tuesday’s series-opening loss on the bench, drew a two-out walk against Red Sox relief ace Garrett Whitlock in the bottom of the eighth inning and raced around to score the go-ahead run when ensuing batter Austin Wells poked a well-placed hit down the right-field line. The 27-year-old speedster figures to be in the lineup for the series finale even if the Red Sox go with rookie southpaw Connelly Early.

Chisholm didn’t start Tuesday’s game with Garrett Crochet on the bump, but with right-hander Brayan Bello on the mound for Boston, the 27-year-old is hitting in the middle of the lineup for the must-win game. Ben Rice is also back in the lineup, as is Ryan McMahon with Paul Goldschmidt out and Jose Caballero also on the bench. The full lineup for the Yankees: CF Trent Grisham, RF Aaron Judge, LF Cody Bellinger, 1B Rice, DH Giancarlo Stanton, 2B Chisholm. C Austin Wells, SS Anthony Volpe and 3B McMahon.

Manager Aaron Boone confirmed that the decision to sit Chisholm was about the matchup and not a product of the forearm contusion Chisholm suffered when he was hit by a pitch Saturday.

This is probably the right call, but Chisholm has played against most lefties this season. It might also be that Chisholm is still bothered by the forearm contusion he suffered when he was hit by a pitch Saturday. The Yankees are also sitting Ryan McMahon in favor of Amed Rosario, but that’s typical. Caballero potentially could have started at shortstop over Anthony Volpe if not at second.

New York has a chance to win the AL East division title, if Toronto loses to Tampa Bay. Still, they’re not going to take an unnecessary risks with a postseason berth already locked up after Chisholm was hit by a pitch on the left forearm earlier this weekend. The positive news for the Yankees is that preliminary X-rays and a CT scan didn’t reveal a major injury. The 27-year-old power/speed combo infielder should be ready when the playoffs get underway.

It’s a massive relief for the Yankees that X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Chisholm, who will undergo a precautionary CT scan to rule out any structural damage, was drilled on the left forearm by a pitch from Orioles reliever Grant Wolfram during the fifth inning of Saturday afternoon’s contest. The dynamic 27-year-old power/speed combo infielder may need to sit out Sunday’s regular-season finale to rest and recover, but he appears unlikely to miss any time at the outset of the postseason.

Not good. Chisholm appeared to get hit on the inside of his left forearm by a pitch from Orioles reliever Grant Wolfram in the fifth inning. He walked straight to the dugout and headed into the clubhouse. The 27-year-old infielder, who has delivered an impressive 30-homer, 30-steal campaign in his first full-season with the Yankees, will head for X-rays to determine whether he suffered any fractures. An additional update on his status should come shortly.

Chisholm led off the second inning with a walk off of Shane Smith. He then swiped second base and scored the game’s first run on an RBI double by Austin Wells. Chisholm gets his 30/30 season and now has six more homers than he’s ever hit previously. He also has a chance to join the 15/15 club; he needs just one more double after committing his 15th error last week (he added a 16th tonight).

Chisholm didn’t end up missing any additional time following an early exit from Thursday’s series finale against the Astros with bilateral knee contusions. The 27-year-old power/speed threat didn’t require any imaging after suffering the injuries on separate plays. He should be fine for the rest of the weekend series against Toronto.

Chisholm suffered the injuries on separate plays while in the field on Thursday night. It doesn’t sound like anything that should require an extended absence, but fantasy managers should make sure that he’s active before locking him into lineups for the weekend.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone will roll with a righty-heavy approach against Red Sox lefty ace Garrett Crochet during Saturday afternoon’s matinee with Chisholm in addition to fellow lefties Ben Rice and Ryan McMahon on the bench. It’ll be speedster José Caballero and veteran Amed Rosario on the infield with Giancarlo Stanton heading out to right field.
