The 27-year-old outfielder was able to walk off the field under his own power on Friday after suffering the injury and the Reds are hopeful that he was able to avoid any serious injury. He’ll be re-evaluated on Saturday.

No surprise here. Hunt went unclaimed on waivers after being removed from Seattle’s 40-man roster earlier this week. The 26-year-old backstop will remain with the club as emergency catching depth in the minors.

The Mariners needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Casey Lawrence on Thursday and unfortunately Hunt drew the short straw this time around. The 26-year-old backstop was hitting just .231/.271/.407 with two homers, five RBI and a 29/5 K/BB ratio over 96 plate appearances at Triple-A Tacoma. It seems likely that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as extra depth for the M’s.

Dunn really struggled with the bat during his time with the Reds, slashing a woeful .150/.320/.233 with one homer, seven RBI, one stolen base and a 25/8 K/BB ratio over 75 plate appearances. He should get another opportunity with the big league club at some point before the summer is through. Will Benson was recalled from Triple-A Louisville to replace him on the active roster.
