It makes the performance a little extra impressive that Dollander certainly didn’t expect to pitch in the first. Juan Mejia opened but then left down 2-0 with two on and two out. Dollander got Cam Smith to ground out and kept rolling from there. He’s 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA and an 18/4 K/BB in five appearances. One imagines he’ll continue to go long, whether it’s as a starter of a bulk guy, in his next couple of outings with Kyle Freeland on the IL. He’ll probably next pitch Tuesday at home against the Padres.

Dollander punched out three batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. Jimmy Herget started the game as an opener and worked a scoreless first before turning the ball over to Dollander. The lone tally against him came on a sacrifice fly by Fernando Tatis Jr. in the third inning. The 24-year-old right-hander racked up 14 swings and misses on 81 pitches — nine of those on his fastball which averaged 99.4 mph and touched as high as 100.9 mph — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. If he’s going to continue to function in this role, he may have some streaming appeal when the Rockies are on the road, which they will be his next time out in Houston on Wednesday.

Chase Dollander will be the bulk reliever and thus, more likely to pick up the win. The Rockies had an opener ahead of him in his last time through the rotation as well, though it was Brennan Bernardino at that point. Dollander is carrying a 5.4 ERA in two games pitched thus far, but 11 strikeouts and 100 mph velocity do make it feel like he’s capable of more.

Dollander came in as a bulk hurler, and while he did take the loss, that has much more to do with the Rockies stinking at the plate than anything he did. He had eight pitches go over 100 mph in the outing while striking out six, walking one and scattering four hits. Dollander is tough to trust in redraft leagues, but you can see the long-term potential. He’ll likely pitch in a similar role this weekend.

It’ll be southpaw reliever Brennan Bernardino opening the contest to face Philadelphia’s lefty-heavy top of the order before giving the ball to Dollander. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect has big-time stuff but he’s been extremely wild from a results standpoint while operating out of Colorado’s bullpen this season, surrendering runs on five hits, including three homers, with a 5/2 K/BB ratio across four innings of work. There’s huge long-term upside here if Dollander is able to put it together, but he’s a work in progress at the moment and can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues.

It was either a win or a save, since he finished the game after entering with a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Tomoyuki Sugano allowed only one run in 4 2/3 innings as the starter, but they left him ineligible for the win, of course. In this case, though, MLB’s archaic policy backfired. The league likes seeing these kinds of wins go to relievers, since starters get paid for victories in arbitration and relievers just don’t. Dollander, though, won’t be a reliever once he’s eligible for arbitration. Still, this wasn’t exactly an encouraging outing for the 24-year-old. Andrés Giménez, Davis Schneider and Kazuma Okamoto all took him deep, and he’s up to 21 homers allowed in just 102 innings as a major leaguer.

That means Ryan Feltner will begin the year as the team’s fifth starter. Dollander, 24, didn’t do himself any favors during Cactus League play, posting a miserable 6.43 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and a 10/7 K/BB ratio over 14 innings. It’s difficult to envision him working through his issues in short spurts in the bullpen though, so perhaps the Rockies would be better served keeping him stretched out at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Dollander came out of the bullpen in this one and was a bit all over the place, tallying four strikeouts while also handing out three free passes. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect appears to have a spot in Colorado’s season-opening rotation despite a rough spring. Given his immense talent, he could make a leap rather quickly, which makes him worth monitoring on early-season waiver wires.

Dollander recorded only one strikeout and was tagged for seven hits in his latest spring outing. The 24-year-old former first-round pick continues to flash elite fastball velocity, averaging 98.2 mph and topping out at 99.3 mph in this one. He certainly has the talent to stand a fighting chance at Coors Field but we’re advising more of a wait-and-see approach before trusting him outside of deeper mixed leagues when he’s pitching on the road against weaker lineups.

Dollander didn’t dominate today with his 23% CSW and seven hard-hit balls allowed. One of those was a 402-foot double from Shea Langeliers that would have been a homer in 20 MLB ballparks. Still, Dollander shouldn’t need to be more than solid to secure his spot in Colorado’s rotation, and he’s definitely done that in allowing two runs in seven innings so far.

Dollander’s velocity has been up by about one mph in his first two outings this spring, and he had a fine 35 percent CSW today. He’s not promised a rotation spot after the Rockies added three veteran starters over the winter, but the team surely wants him to claim one and he seems to be on his way to doing so.

Dollander looked extremely sharp in his spring debut, averaging a blistering 99.2 mph on his four-seam fastball and 98.3 mph on his sinker, while also showcasing a brand-new sweeper. He finished with two strikeouts, issued one walk and needed just 32 pitches (20 strikes) to navigate a pair of frames. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect struggled last year in his first taste of the majors but possesses the talent necessary to make an impact for fantasy managers, especially in road tilts away from Coors Field’s high-octane offensive environment. He’ll go undrafted in most formats, but he’s exactly the kind of young pitcher that rapidly ascends from afterthought to must-add with a couple quality regular-season outings.

Dollander was shut down in early September with a patellar tendon strain in his left knee. The 24-year-old former top prospect is expected to have a mostly normal offseason and be ready for the start of spring training after finishing his rookie campaign with a disappointing 6.52 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 82/49 K/BB ratio across 98 innings over 21 starts. The ninth overall pick from the 2023 MLB Draft has the high-octane arsenal required to overcome pitching in Coors Field, but it certainly amplifies the risk as he continues to acclimate to life in the big leagues.

This will be the top prospects, MLB debut, and it couldn’t come in a bigger spot with the Guardians facing elimination. The guardians have easily the lowest team batting average of any team in the postseason, so manager Stephen Vogt has been pretty clear that DeLauter is playing for his offensive upside: “He can hit -- everywhere he’s ever been, he’s hit. We’re looking for offense. We have been all year. And this gives us a really good opportunity to have an impact bat.”

We discussed this as a possibility yesterday, and now it’s official. The Guardians have the lowest team batting average for a postseason team in MLB history with a .226 mark, so it makes sense that they’re trying to bring some offensive upside onto the roster. If DeLauter gets into a game in the series, it will be his MLB debut, so this is certainly a unique move for Cleveland.

DeLauter underwent surgery to repair a right hamate fracture back on July 23rd, but he resumed baseball activities in August. The 23-year-old is in Cleveland as a member of the taxi squad and could be an option for this upcoming series against the Tigers. DeLauter hit .278/.383/.476 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 34 games at Triple-A before getting hurt this season. This would be a major jump for him, but he has the talent to be an impactful bat for the Guardians, like Evan Carter was for the Rangers a few years back.

As anticipated, the 23-year-old right-hander lands on the injured list with the knee injury that he suffered during Tuesday’s outing against the Dodgers. He’s expected to miss the remainder of the season. Bradley Blalock was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move on Saturday.

The 23-year-old hurler injured his left knee during Tuesday’s start against the Dodgers. He underwent an MRI exam earlier in the week, the results of which are not yet known. Regardless of the severity, it seems like this injury will end Dollander’s rookie season. He finishes the year with a 2-12 record, 6.52 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and an 82/49 K/BB ratio over 98 innings in his first 21 big league starts.

Dollander was solid for the second time in three outings, with a clunker against the Giants on Monday between these two outings. The 23-year-old rookie struck out five while allowing just one hit and two free passes. Dollander still is the owner of a 6.52 ERA, but there have been just enough outings like this to believe in him in the long-term. He’ll try and repeat this effort over the weekend when he faces the Padres in San Diego on Saturday.

Dollander took a loss despite pitching well against the Astros last time out. This was just a deserved loss. The 2023 first-rounder has not held his own for the most of 2025 and now has a record of 2-12 with an abhorrent 6.77 ERA over his 93 innings. It’s probably obvious to state that it’d be a mistake to start him against the Padres, but it’ll be stated anyway.

Dollander threw 61-of-98 pitches for strikes while walking four. The only run he allowed came on a run-scoring single from Jesus Sánchez in the first, and from that point on the 23-year-old pitched exceptionally. That’s now back-to-back strong outings for Dollander, but his ERA is still a less-than-desirable 6.55 with a ghastly 2-11 record. Dollander has significant upside even pitching in Coors Field, and but it’d still be hard to justify using him as a fantasy option against the Giants on Monday.

DeLauter is trending towards returning to action at Triple-A Columbus in late August or early September after undergoing surgery back in late July to repair a hamate fracture. The 23-year-old top prospect has the talent to make a serious impact in the big leagues, but injuries have prevented him from reaching Cleveland.

Dollander, who was recalled before the game, struck out five in one of his best starts to date as a major leaguer. He averaged 98.5 mph with his fastball, which is a little better than his 97.7-mph average for the season, and he allowed only four hard-hit balls. It’s nothing that should get him picked up in fantasy leagues, but it is encouraging. He’ll face Arizona at home this weekend.

Dollander gave up 11 earned runs and walked eight over 11 1/3 innings in his three starts for Albuquerque, but the Rockies must think they have no one else worth a look. And they’re probably right. Dollander will start against the Cardinals tonight.

The 23-year-old right-hander has gone just 2-9 with a 6.68 ERA over 15 starts for the Rockies this season, but they really don’t have any better alternatives to turn to right now. If you don’t care about your ratios, he could potentially be worth a look for fantasy purposes in deeper mixed leagues.

DeLauter has dealt with numerous injury setbacks since being selected 16th overall in the 2022 MLB Draft, with this latest procedure extinguishing any chance he’ll make it to Cleveland until next season. The 23-year-old top prospect’s offensive talent is undeniable, but he’s been snake-bitten by injuries, mostly foot issues, the last few years.

Not great. DeLauter was shut down last weekend with right wrist soreness just as he appeared to be on the verge of making it to Cleveland for their second-half playoff push. There should be a definitive update on the 23-year-old top prospect’s status this week, but typically a visit to a specialist involves determining whether a surgical procedure is required.

DeLauter can’t seem to catch a break. The 23-year-old top prospect, who has battled foot injuries the past few years, is set to undergo further evaluation after experiencing symptoms earlier this week while playing for Triple-A Columbus. He’s one of the most talented hitting prospects left in the minors and has a chance to make a serious impact for Cleveland, if he’s able to stay healthy enough to make it to the majors. There should be an update on his status at some point during next week’s All-Star break.

DeLauter’s home run was a 412-foot shot that left the bat at 109 mph. He’s slashing .279/.386/.475 with five home runs and 20 RBI in 33 games at Triple-A. The 23-year-old and fellow left-handed-hitter C.J. Kayfus both homered on Wednesday and are pushing for MLB at-bats in a season where it seems like the Guardians could trade away big league hitters like Carlos Santana and Lane Thomas at the trade deadline.
