Dingler could have had an even bigger game in his second career start at DH; his 413-foot triple in the first would have been a homer in 17 ballparks and his 394-foot flyout in the fifth would have left 13. Dingler, who was behind Jake Rogers on the depth chart initially this season, is batting .274/.321/.432 and has probably been the AL’s second or third best catcher behind Cal Raleigh and maybe Alejandro Kirk.

Dingler had three hits including a double in the win over the Blue Jays. The 26-year-old catcher is hitting .286 with a .765 OPS this year. While he’s established himself as a better hitter than Jake Rogers at this point, Dingler is still likely to lose some playing time when Rogers completes his rehab assignment. Rogers caught every pitch from Tarik Skubal during his Cy Young season in 2024 and is still considered the better defensive option.
