Dobbins also struck out five in the no-decision, which St. Louis went on to win 10-5. The right-hander was making his Cardinals debut after working back from last season’s ACL tear with the Red Sox. Acquired in an offseason trade for Willson Contreras, Dobbins mostly represents pitching depth for this staff. His next start could come at home against the Brewers if he remains in the rotation.

Dobbins, who has been rehabbing from last year’s ACL surgery, will make his season debut on Thursday in a start against the Pirates. Last season with the Red Sox, Dobbins emerged as a low-strikeout streamer in fantasy baseball due to his deep pitch mix and good command of the strike zone. He could continue to be a streamer this season with the Cardinals, but we likely wouldn’t start him in his first game off the IL.

St. Louis will shift to a six-man rotation with Dobbins set to make his season debut in Pittsburgh on Thursday. The 26-year-old came over from the Red Sox in the Willson Contreras trade last December and will be making his Cardinals debut. He’s compiled a respectable 4.37 ERA and 19/9 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings over five rehab starts for Triple-A Memphis this season. He put together a 4.13 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 45/17 K/BB ratio over 61 innings for the Red Sox as a rookie last year.

This will be the third rehab start for Dobbins as he recovers from his torn ACL. The 26-year-old should be an option for the St. Louis rotation soon, but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach in redraft formats.

Dobbins also struck out seven and walked one while throwing 62 of his 91 pitches for strikes. The 26-year-old, who was acquired from the Red Sox in the offseason, is still working his way back from a torn ACL that ended his season last year. He has looked good to start the year, allowing four runs on eight hits in 10 1/3 innings while posting a 10/3 K/BB ratio. A couple more good starts and he could push for a call-up to join the Cardinals’ rotation.

Dobbins will spend a couple weeks down in the minors building up his pitch count and stamina as he works his way back from last year’s surgery to repair a torn ACL in his knee. The 26-year-old hurler figures to be ready to make his Cardinals debut at some point in late April or early May, assuming there’s an open rotation spot at the highest level.

Dobbins is throwing, but the Cardinals didn’t want to risk a setback by having him pitch in games this spring. He’s at least a month away from being a candidate for the team’s rotation.

The 26-year-old hurler is still recovering from the ACL tear in his knee that he suffered last July. He has been able to build up his arm strength this spring, but is still limited when it comes to fielding his position. No timeline yet on when exactly he may be ready to join the Cardinals.

As a 25-year-old rookie, Dobbins had a solid 4.13 ERA in 11 starts and two relief appearances for the Red Sox before tearing his ACL while going to cover first base in July. If he’s not ready for the start of 2026, he shouldn’t be far behind, and he’ll definitely get a look in the rotation at some point. While his ceiling seems limited, Dobbins has the varied arsenal, above average command and solid groundball rate of a No. 4 starter. Contreras’s exit leaves a big hole in the St. Louis lineup, but the Cardinals are rebuilding anyway and now there’s another 600 plate appearances freed up for Jordan Walker, Nolan Gorman and Thomas Saggese. Or maybe they’ll want to give Iván Herrera a look at first, which would open the door for catcher Jimmy Crooks to play a significant role.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Daniel Cooper in Texas. The 25-year-old hurler is expected to be fully recovered and ready to participate in spring training, though it’s unclear how his regular offseason routine will be limited.

The 25-year-old right-hander has been shelved since mid-July due to a torn ACL in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the 2025 season. He’s expected to be fully recovered in time for spring training.

Dobbins suffered the season-ending knee injury during Friday’s start against the Rays. He previously tore his ACL while playing high school football. The 25-year-old righty is facing a lengthy rehabilitation process following surgery, but there’s a chance he’s able to make it back to Boston’s rotation at some point in the early stages of next season. He finishes his abbreviated rookie campaign with a solid 4.13 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 45/17 K/BB ratio across 61 innings (13 appearances, 11 starts). It’s a tough hit to Boston’s rotation depth for the next few months, but it’s easy to envision Dobbins returning next season as a mid-rotation arm.

Cotillo adds that the Red Sox are still evaluating Dobbins, but the initial belief is that he’s dealing with a serious knee injury. The 25-year-old rookie right-hander suffered the ailment on Friday night against the Rays in his return from the injured list. There should be a definitive update on his status shortly, but his season is most likely over. Depending on the exact diagnosis, there’s a chance he’s ready for next spring, but we’re not close to being able to speculate on that frontier. We’ll have updates on the developing situation as it unfolds.

Dobbins sustained the injury while covering first base on a ground ball to the right side of the infield in the second inning. He’ll head for further evaluation. The 25-year-old hurler wound up allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out a pair in his first start back off of the injured list.

Dobbins is back to make a start against the Rays on Friday. The right-hander looked good in his rehab outing Saturday, and has had some success at the highest level. He’s worthy of streaming consideration.

The right-hander allowed two hits and didn’t walk a batter while striking out eight. He pounded the strike zone with his entire arsenal and had 14 whiffs on the day. With Walker Buehler struggling, Dobbins could potentially push him for a spot in the rotation or be recalled as a long reliever. The Red Sox do have seven games this week, so perhaps Dobbins comes up for a spot start in one of those.

Dobbins was placed on the IL on Sunday with an elbow strain, but the Red Sox never seemed overly concerned. The rookie experienced diminished velocity in his start on Saturday, but he was still able ot throw 75 pitches. The Red Sox had Richard Fitts ready to be activated off the IL, so they were able to put Dobbins on and give him some time to rest. Dobbins will likely make a rehab start this weekend and could remain in Triple-A or perhaps come back to take Walker Buehler’s spot in the rotation if the Red Sox want to give Buehler some time to fix whatever is ailing him.

No word yet on how much time Dobbins is going to miss, but elbow issues typically lead to lengthy absences. It’ll be Richard Fitts taking his spot in Boston’s rotation to start on Wednesday against the Angels out in Los Angeles. The 25-year-old righty walked five batters and allowed five runs — four earned — over four innings on Friday in a lackluster outing against the Giants.

No word yet on the exact injury or severity. Dobbins heads to the shelf after handing out five walks and allowing five runs — four earned — over four innings on Friday in a lackluster outing against the Giants. The 25-year-old rookie right-hander wasn’t scheduled to take the ball again until Wednesday against the Angels. It’ll be Richard Fitts coming up to take his spot in Boston’s rotation.

Dobbins has been a nice little surprise for the most part, but this one was ugly, as he got just one missed swing and one strikeout in the 75-pitch outing. He’ll probably make another start Wednesday against the Twins, but with Tanner Houck having started a rehab assignment and Richard Fitts and Kyle Harrison awaiting opportunities, his time in the rotation might soon come to an end.

Dobbins didn’t come close to matching his six shutout innings from his previous outing Saturday against the Yankees, as he walked five and struck out just one batter. Fortunately for him and the Red Sox, Boston gave him plenty of run support. Dobbins has had some solid moments as a member of the rotation — see his previous start for proof — but there’s a pretty low floor here. He’ll take a 4.10 ERA into a start scheduled against the Angels on Wednesday.

Impressive. Dobbins struck out five, and two of those punchouts came against Aaron Judge. He gave up only two hits — both singles — and issued one walk while throwing 52-of-82 pitches for strikes. Dobbins has been a quality find for the Boston rotation, and now has a 3.74 ERA and 42/11 K/BB for his trouble over 55 1/3 innings. Assuming the rotation order doesn’t change, he’s set to face off against the Giants in San Francisco on Friday.

The 25-year-old right-hander surprisingly did not walk or strike out a batter in the ballgame. He served up a mammoth two-run homer to Aaron Judge before he had even recorded an out in the contest, but settled in nicely afterwards and allowed just a solo shot to DJ LeMahieu in the fifth the rest of the way. Dobbins got four whiffs on 64 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent. Now 3-1 on the season, he’ll tote a 4.20 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 37/10 K/BB ratio (49 1/3 innings) into a rematch against the Yankees on Saturday evening at Fenway Park.

Filling in for Alex Cora as manager tonight, Ramon Vázquez pulled Dobbins one out short of qualifying for a win in a 3-1 game. It was a tough call but probably the right one, as the Mets had two on and Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto were about to come up for the third time. Justin Wilson entered and got Lindor to ground out to end the threat. Dobbins, who is 2-1 with a 3.62 ERA in seven starts, should stay in the rotation for now and face the Orioles next time out.

Dobbins struck out six and walked none. With a 2.78 ERA and a 19/4 K/BB in 22 2/3 innings, he’s definitely looked like one of Boston’s top five starters so far, though it seems highly unlikely that the team will bounce Walker Buehler, Tanner Houck or Lucas Giolito in order to make room for him. He could stick for now and make one more start before Buehler comes off the IL.

Dobbins started off well, tossing three scoreless frames before a single, double, and groundout brought a run in to score for the Twins in the fourth inning. After a scoreless fifth, Dobbins gave up a two-run homer to Kody Clemens in the sixth and left with two runners on and two outs at 92 pitches. One more inherited runner would come in to score. The 25-year-old right-hander should be in line to start against the Royals in Kansas City.

The 25-year-old hurler will join the Red Sox to fill the rotation spot vacated by Walker Buehler (shoulder). He’ll start on Saturday against the Twins and if he pitches well he could stick around to make at least one additional start while Buehler is shelved. On the season, Dobbins is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and an 11/2 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in two spot starts for the Red Sox.

He’s filling in for Walker Buehler, who still aims to avoid the IL and pitch next week. Dobbins is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his two spot starts for the Red Sox this season. This should be another brief stint for the 25-year-old.
