DeGrom surrendered a run to the Yankees in the first inning on two hits. He locked in on the mound from that point, going five more scoreless frames while giving up just one more hit and no walks with five strikeouts on 13 whiffs. The 37-year-old right-hander has gone five straight starts allowing one run or fewer. He ends his day with a 2.01 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and a 40/7 K/BB ratio across 31 1/3 innings. DeGrom lines up for a rematch against the Yankees in New York next Tuesday.

DeGrom scattered just five hits and one walk on the evening. The only blemish on his day came on a solo blast off the bat of Oneil Cruz in the fifth inning. DeGrom piled up a whopping 20 swings and misses on 89 pitches on the night — nine of those on his heater which averaged 97.5 mph — while registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. He has been terrific through his first five starts, posting a 2-0 record, 2.13 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 35/7 K/BB ratio across 25 1/3 innings. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he takes on the Yankees at home on Tuesday.

DeGrom threw 32 pitches in the first and 88 through four while allowing four hits, walking two and striking out three. It’s likely that another team would have managed at least a couple of runs off him, as he wasn’t particularly sharp. The best the Mariners could do, though, was deny him a victory. DeGrom figures to face the Pirates on Thursday.

After giving up a homer to Cal Raleigh in the first inning in his last outing, deGrom gave up another solo dinger early, this time to Shohei Ohtani. From that point on, the 37-year-old was fantastic, allowing only three more hits and generating 15 swings and misses in the contest before exiting. His fastball averaged 97.2 mph, so the minor knee discomfort he was dealing with clearly didn’t have a major affect during Sunday’s bout. He’ll have a good chance to miss more bats when he faces the Mariners on Friday in Seattle.

It’s a massive relief for the Rangers, and fantasy managers, after deGrom experienced right knee discomfort while warming up for Monday’s start against the Mariners where he struck out six and allowed one run over five innings. The 37-year-old fantasy ace will make his next start on Sunday against the Dodgers.

Schumaker added that they expect to receive the MRI results at some point Tuesday evening before they determine his next steps. It’s a notable development after deGrom managed to complete five innings against the Mariners on Monday, despite pitching through a minor knee issue that cropped up while warming up in the bullpen before the game. It sounds like the Rangers are merely proceeding with an abundance of caution in advance of deGrom’s next start on Sunday against the Dodgers. There should be an additional update on his status shortly.

The only hit deGrom allowed was on a solo homer from Cal Raleigh, and that came after a 12-pitch at-bat. The 37-year-old dominated Seattle from that point on with six strikeouts, 14 swings-and-misses generated, and a fastball that touched 99.1 mph. He was only able to go five innings, however, as manager Skip Schumaker told reporters after the game that deGrom was dealing with a “minor” knee issue that he picked up warming up in the bullpen prior to the game. Schumaker suggested the right-hander was fine after the game and could have kept going, so he should be fine for Sunday’s start against the Dodgers.

It would have been one run in five innings if Wyatt Langford hadn’t terribly misread Gunnar Henderson’s shot to left with two outs in the fifth. DeGrom struck out seven and walked none while throwing 79 pitches, which is right where the Rangers said they wanted him before the game. He was making his first start of the season after being scratched Saturday with neck stiffness.

The veteran was scratched from his start over the weekend with a stiff neck, but rather than wait till his next turn the rotation, the Rangers will send him to the mound tonight. Make sure he’s in your lineups in all league types. Kumar Rocker will start on Wednesday.

DeGrom told reporters he was confident that he’d be able to to start Tuesday against the Orioles on Saturday, and the fact he was able to throw is a positive sign. He’s also a hurler with a significant injury history and it’s not even April yet, so it won’t be a surprise if he is skipped at least one turn. Fantasy managers should pay close attention for updates Monday, and be prepared for the worst.

DeGrom added that he woke up with neck stiffness and underwent treatment in an effort to start on Saturday against the Phillies before the decision was made to not to take any risks by pushing it. It certainly sounds like things are trending towards the 37-year-old veteran fantasy ace making his season debut during a three-game road series against the Orioles, which gets underway on Monday at Camden Yards. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on the situation but initial reports seem to indicate that this isn’t a potential injured list situation. There should be some additional clarity on his status at some point later this weekend.

Jacob Latz will start on Saturday afternoon in his place. The Rangers do not believe the issue is serious and that deGrom could potentially start early next week against the Orioles, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. It certainly sounds like a precautionary decision and that deGrom isn’t facing an extended absence or potential trip to the injured list. The 37-year-old veteran ace’s checkered injury history suggests this is a developing situation worth monitoring closely. There should be a clearer idea of his availability once he attempts to throw a bullpen session either this weekend or early next week. Stay tuned.

It was a vintage deGrom outing as he scattered three baserunners and got his pitch count up to 43 (28 strikes) in his second Cactus League outings. The 37-year-old veteran fantasy ace generated nine swinging strikes and averaged a crisp 97.4 mph on his heater. The ever-present durability concerns remain, but few fantasy arms are more impactful on a per-start basis than deGrom. He’s a back-end SP1 in fantasy drafts this spring.

DeGrom threw 39 pitches, of which 27 were strikes. His fastball velocity was right at his 2025 average (97.7 mph vs. 97.5 mph), and his slider velocity was actually up by 1.5 mph (91.9 mph vs. 90.4 mph). Two healthy seasons in a row from deGrom might be too much to ask, especially at age 37, but there are no red flags at the moment.

It’s happening. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told reporters over the weekend that deGrom was close to making his spring debut following a 30-pitch bullpen session. The 37-year-old veteran managed to stay healthy last year for his first 30-start season since 2019. We’re skeptical he’ll repeat the feat but the Rangers clearly have a plan in place to slow-play his ramp-up process.

This comes after deGrom threw a 30-pitch side session. The goal according to Schumaker is for deGrom to make three-to-four spring training starts before the regular season. The 37-year-old was fantastic in 2025 with a 2.97 ERA and 185/37 K/BB over his 172 2/3 innings, and as long as he can stay healthy, he still has the stuff to be a fantasy stalwart.

It’s the second time deGrom has taken home the award in his career. The 37-year-old veteran ace wrapped up his first 30-start campaign since 2019 with a stellar 2.97 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 185/37 K/BB ratio across 172 2/3 innings of work. He was limited to just three late-season starts during the 2024 season while working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He’ll open next season as a top-10 range starting pitcher and an early-round selection in all fantasy drafts despite his lingering durability concerns.

The decision to pull back from a velocity standpoint this season in his return from elbow surgery paid dividends for deGrom, who completes his first 30-start campaign since 2019 with a stellar 2.97 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 185/37 K/BB ratio across 172 2/3 innings of work. The 37-year-old veteran’s return to fantasy ace status puts him near the top of the starting pitcher landscape heading into drafts next spring, despite his omnipresent durability concerns.

It was apparent from the first inning that deGrom didn’t have his best stuff here. He fell behind Jeremy Peña 3-0 to start the game before he laced a double. The Astros would score two runs in that first inning, two more in the third on a home run from Jose Altuve, and another in the fifth when Peña took him deep. deGrom’s slider command wasn’t up to his usual standards as more than often missed way out of the zone and hung in the lower half of the strike zone. He made due with more curveballs, but it still wasn’t enough to keep these runs off the board. Next up is what should be his final start of the season against the Twins.

Openly emotional about returning to his former home park, deGrom benefited from a level of run support he rarely received as a Met. The Rangers put up six runs before he ever took the mound and deGrom seemed to pitch to that lead. It was the first time since June 1st that he didn’t strike out at least five batters, but he worked efficiently and was able to complete seven innings for the first time since June 25th. He also allowed a whopping 13 hard-hit balls and was fortunate most of them found gloves. Still, he helped secure an important win as his Rangers kept pace with both the Astros and Mariners to stay two games behind each in the playoff race. deGrom’s next start is scheduled to come against those Astros in Houston.

Two of the runs deGrom gave up were solo homers, as he gave up roundtrippers to Christian Walker and Yordan Alvarez in the third and fifth, respectively. The 37-year-old struck out eight, and he issues two walks while allowing three additional hits. It’s a slightly disappointing start, but once that still showed how good deGrom has been for the overwhelming majority of 2025. Friday will be a fun one, as he’ll face the Mets in New York.

The 37-year-old right-hander punched out six opposing hitters on the afternoon. Both of the hits that he allowed were singles and only once did the A’s have anyone reach second base against him. The Rangers’ ace piled up 10 swings and misses on 79 pitches in the contest — eight of them on his slider — while registering a CSW of 25 percent. Now 11-6 on the season, deGrom will carry a brilliant 2.69 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 161/33 K/BB ratio (150 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Astros.

deGrom struck out seven and walked two while posting a 33 percent whiff rate and 28 percent CSW. He struggled to find the zone with his secondaries tonight, but did get plenty of swings and misses on his slider. His velocity remains there, and deGrom can be counted on in every start going forward.

There was some lingering uncertainty after deGrom was unexpectedly scratched from his scheduled start earlier this week against the Royals with shoulder fatigue. The fact that the 37-year-old fantasy ace is feeling well enough to take the ball early next week puts those concerns to bed. It’s a variable fantasy managers should continue monitoring closely, especially given his checkered injury history, but deGrom appears ready to roll for Monday’s outing at Globe Life Field.

It’s never what you want to see. However, the decision appears to be precautionary in nature since deGrom has already eclipsed 100 innings for the first time since the 2019 campaign. There should be a definitive update on his status at some point in the coming days, but it sounds like merely a workload management situation and not a cause for alarm. Stay tuned.

deGrom gave up two hits, walked none and struck out five. The 37-year-old right-hander was excellent, though he came out of the game after 84 pitches over five scoreless innings. deGrom was in line for the win until the Rangers bullpen blew the lead in the eighth inning. He has a 2.76 ERA and 148/30 K/BB ratio in 140 1/3 innings this year. deGrom is lined up to face the Royals on the road next week.

DeGrom pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings before surrendering a single, a walk and a two-run double in the seventh. He got one more out afterwards before being pulled with the Rangers down 2-1, and Danny Coulombe allowed an RBI single before finishing the inning. It’s a third straight loss for deGrom, who signed with a team that has declined to go all-in after winning the World Series in 2023. He fell to 10-5 with a 2.86 ERA ahead of a date with a Blue Jays team that has done its best to pursue elite talents.

The 37-year-old right-hander allowed five runs on four hits and three walks over his five frames while punching out five batters on the afternoon. All of that damage came via the long ball, with Jorge Polanco smacking a solo shot in the second inning, Julio Rodriguez adding a two-run blast in the third and then J.P. Crawford adding a go-ahead two-run bomb in the fourth inning. He got nine swings and misses on 95 pitches on the day, posting an underwhelming CSW of just 22 percent. Now 10-4 on the season, deGrom will bring a 2.80 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and a 135/29 K/BB ratio (128 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Phillies.

DeGrom served up a solo homer to leadoff man Lawerence Butler to start the first inning. He’d give up just two more hits and walk one batter over five more scoreless innings. deGrom collected nine strikeouts as he tossed 60-of-89 pitches for strikes and induced an incredible 28 whiffs. The 37-year-old right-hander will take a 2.28 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 122/25 K/BB ratio across 118 1/3 innings into a start against the Angels in Anaheim on Monday.
