After a scoreless first inning, Freeland surrendered a three-run blast to Casey Schmitt in the second. He settled in to toss four more scoreless frames, ending his day with four strikeouts over six innings. The 32-year-old left-hander ends the season with a 4.98 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and a 124/38 K/BB ratio across 162 2/3 innings.

The 32-year-old southpaw piled up seven strikeouts in the ballgame while allowing just one base on balls. The only damage done against him came on an RBI single off the bat of Jo Adell in the opening inning. After that, Freeland blanked them for the remainder of his afternoon. He generated seven swings and misses on 85 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll try to finish the season strong as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and a 120/37 K/BB ratio (156 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s battle against the Giants in San Francisco.

Freeland tossed two scoreless innings before giving up three runs in the third, including two on a double by Jakob Marsee. Five more hits in the sixth would bring three more runs in to score for Miami before Freeland was chased with two outs at 73 pitches. He struck out just one. The 32-year-old left-hander will take a 5.14 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and a 113/36 K/BB ratio across 150 2/3 innings into a start against the Angels in Colorado on Sunday.

All four runs Freeland allowed in the second were unearned after Kyle Karros committed an error to start the frame. The loss leaves Freeland 4-15 with a 4.97 ERA, and he’s now tied with Mitchell Parker and teammate Antonio Senzatela for the most losses in the leagues. He’ll make his next start at home against the Marlins.

Uhh, what? Freeland has been one of the most consistently ineffective starts in baseball, but this an exceptional effort from the 32-year-old. He threw only 88 pitches, so it was a little surprising the Rockies didn’t give him a chance for the shutout. It’s almost assuredly just a one-off, but it was an awfully good one. Freeland will try and shut us up again versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

After a clean first inning, Freeland surrendered a two-run homer to Andrew McCutchen to start the second. Jared Triolo added two more runs on Freeland with a homer in the third. A triple and a double would make it five runs for the Pirates in the fifth. Freeland’s day would be done after five innings with six strikeouts. The 32-year-old left-hander will take a 5.31 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and a 91/34 K/BB ratio across 125 1/3 innings into a start against the Cubs in Colorado on Friday.

Freeland was pitching decently before the injury, but was unable to continue. The left-hander allowed six hits and one walk before exiting. The 32-year-old’s scheduled to face the Pirates on Saturday, but there’s obviously no guarantee that he’ll be able to make that start.

We’re just as surprised as you are. Freeland has been wholly ineffective for the overwhelming majority of 2025, but he worked around five hits and two walks and pitched into the eighth inning. It’s hard to imagine this setting a new trend, but it happened. Freeland will take a 3-12 record and 5.18 ERA into a start scheduled for Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Colorado’s pitching staff was unable to solve the Blue Jays during any of the three games in this series and Freeland became the latest buzzsaw victim in this one. He served up seven hits, including a three-run homer to Bo Bichette, which accounted for most of the damage. He struck out four and issued two walks. He’ll aim for better results on Tuesday in a road outing against the Cardinals.

Clearly uncomfortable from the start, Freeland’s velocity was down significantly and he was constantly keeled over in this abbreviated outing. Pulled after three innings with what the team called “illness effects,” it’s clear he may not have been well enough to start this game at all. Hopefully he feels better before his next turn at home against the Blue Jays.

This game started off just about as bad as a game could for Freeland. He allowed four solo home runs to the first eight batters of the game and it looked like the wheels were about to fall off. However, he wouldn’t allow a run through the rest of his start and provided great length for a Rockies’ rotation that could certainly use it. He did allow a shocking 14 hard-hit balls in total, but that’s neither here nor there. His next next is scheduled to come on the road against the Guardians.

Freeland struck out three batters on the evening while issuing three free passes. The only blemish on his day came on a solo blast off the bat of Byron Buxton in the fifth inning. Aside from that, he was fantastic. The 32-year-old southpaw got eight swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. Now 2-10 on the season, he’ll carry a 5.19 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and a 70/25 K/BB ratio (95 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Cardinals.

Freeland allowed two hits through five scoreless innings before giving up a single, a walk and a bloop RBI single with one out in the sixth. The latter hit probably would have been caught by a better right fielder than Tyler Freeman, and Freeman himself might have caught it if not for his hamstring issue. Freeland exited then, and both inherited runners came around to score against Juan Mejia. Freeland dropped to 1-10 with a 5.44 ERA. He’ll likely start again Sunday against the Reds.

Freeland departed with a two-run lead, but that was blown right away in the seventh. It’s the fifth time this season that he’s exited in line for a win, but he’s just 1-9 in 16 starts. He’ll make his next start in Boston against the Red Sox.

Freeland looked the exact same as he did prior to his two-week stint on the injured list. Not a compliment. He’s now 1-9 on the season with an ERA of 5.56. He will have a great chance to get his 10th loss against the Astros on Thursday.

Freeland made it through Sunday’s bullpen session without any issues and will take the ball on Friday against the Brewers. The 32-year-old lefty hit the shelf last weekend with lower back stiffness.

Freeland has been scratched from Monday’s scheduled start against the Nationals and will likely wind up missing a couple weeks. It’ll be Carson Palmquist taking his spot in Colorado’s rotation.

Freeland gave up a two-run homer to Willy Adames in the first and a sac fly to Adames in the third. From that point out, the southpaw held San Francisco scoreless in a solid — if unspectacular — start from the 32-year-old. Freeland remains impossible to recommend from a fantasy perspective and that includes his scheduled start next week against the Nationals.

Both runs came in the seventh after an Orlando Arcia error got things started. Freeland gave up his third and fourth hits of the afternoon afterwards and was lifted. Fortunately, the Rockies pen was able to limit the damage from there. It’s the team’s second win in Freeman’s 13 outings this season. His ERA sits at 5.19, but he has a solid enough 52/13 K/BB in 67 2/3 innings. Freeland’s next start will come at home versus the Giants.

A rare quality start for a Rockies pitcher, Freeland had his swing-and-miss stuff working here. Each of his fastball, sweeper, knuckle-curve, and cutter forced at least three whiffs. He deserved more than his four strikeouts, the Mets came ready to hit though. The trio of Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Starling Marte each contributed a hard-hit extra-base hit and were tough outs in all of their at-bats. Freeland is scheduled for a rare great matchup next time out on the road against the Marlins.

All but one of those runs came as part of a 10-run fifth inning. Freeland entered 0-6 with a 5.68 ERA, but he at least had a 41/10 K/BB. Today, he struck out three and walked a season-high three. He’s 0-7 now, and he’s lined up to face the Mets next time out.

Freeland pitched well. The Rockies bullpen did not. The southpaw did allow seven hits, but the only run he gave up was on a single in the fifth inning. He left with a 3-1 lead, but the Rockies would give up the next eight runs, because they are, in fact, the Colorado Rockies. Freeland still has an ERA of 5.68 and cannot possibly be trusted against the Yankees over the weekend.

Freeland also walked a batter while striking out two in the ballgame. The Tigers got to him early and often in this one, scoring twice in the opening inning, five times in the second and twice more in the third before he mercifully exited. All of the damage was done without the benefit of a home run, though the Rockies’ defense made three errors behind him which made four of the runs unearned. Freeland got six swings and misses on 65 pitches on the afternoon, registering a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll carry an unappealing 6.41 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and a 30/7 K/BB ratio (39 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Rangers in Arlington.

The 31-year-old southpaw punched out five batters on the evening while issuing two free passes. He served up a leadoff homer to Heliot Ramos to start the game, then kept the Giants at bay until they pushed two more runs across in his final frame. Freeland got eight whiffs on 91 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll carry an unappetizing 5.70 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 28/6 K/BB ratio (36 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Tigers.

The Reds were simply all over Freeland in this one. Nearly half of the balls they put in play were hit hard and they put traffic on the bases in every inning. He threw the kitchen sink at them, mixing six pitches and it was still to no avail. Such is life for a Rockies pitcher in Coors Field. He’s scheduled to pitch the last game of Colorado’s homestand next week against the Braves.

It’s a tough break for the Rockies as Freeland’s departure came after just two frames in the front-end of Sunday’s doubleheader at Coors Field. He was charged with three runs — one earned — over two innings of work.

Freeland, who came in with a 15/0 K/BB in three starts, had two strikeouts and two walks today. He’s 0-3 with a 4.88 ERA on the season, though he deserves better than that record. He’ll pitch at home against the Nationals next.
