Frelick missed some time in early August due to soreness in his knee and it’s an issue that bothered him on-and-off throughout the remainder of the season. Fortunately, recent imaging came back unremarkable. The 25-year-old outfielder is expected to have a normal offseason without any restrictions.

Frelick clobbered a 422-foot (104.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Sonny Gray to open the third inning, pulling the Brewers to within a run at 2-1. That would be their only run in the ballgame. Frelick has been a terrific catalyst atop the Brewers’ lineup this season, slashing .295/.361/.417 with 12 long balls, 62 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 567 plate appearances.

The Brewers enjoyed a five-run rally with two outs in the second inning on a single by Blake Perkins and then the three-run home run from Frelick which put this game out of reach early. While that was only his 11th home run of the season, he also has 19 stolen bases and a .296 batting average to complete an impressive stat line for the third year outfielder.

Stewart, making his fourth start in six games since his promotion to the majors, took fellow rookie Jonah Tong deep for a two-run homer to put the Reds on the board in the second inning. He was later replaced defensively at third base by Ke’Bryan Hayes. The 21-year-old infielder has tremendous upside after hitting 20 homers while stealing 17 bases and hitting .309 over 118 minor league games this season.

Even though they’re facing a lefty, the Reds still found no room for Stewart. He’s been out of the lineup for both games since Spencer Steer returned to third base. Matt McLain’s turnaround has complicated the situation, since the Reds had to be thinking about using Stewart at second or Gavin Lux at second and Stewart at DH before McLain went 7-for-17 with two homers and two doubles in his last five games.

In something of a surprise, Stewart’s debut came as a first baseman at the expense of Spencer Steer. He had played that position just twice in the minors, compared to 90 games at third and 17 at second. Stewart singled in his first at-bat and then struck out and grounded out before Steer replaced him for defense. A couple of other candidates to lose playing time to Stewart, Ke’Bryan Hayes (3-for-4, 2 RBI) and Matt McLain (1-for-3, BB) both had nice games today, so we’ll be curious to see who Stewart starts for tomorrow, assuming that he starts at all.

The 21-year-old Stewart will make his major league debut at first base today after hitting .309/.383/.524 with 20 homers and 17 steals between Double- and Triple-A. He ought to get a chance to play regularly, though that will ultimately be up to Terry Francona. Matt McLain, Gavin Lux, Miguel Andujar, Spencer Steer and Ke’Bryan Hayes could all lose some at-bats while Stewart probably dabbles at first, second and third and serves as a DH.

The 21-year-old slugger was a first-round selection (32nd overall) by the Reds from the 2022 draft class. Stewart has had a terrific season in the minor leagues, slashing .309/.383/.524 with 20 homers, 80 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 494 plate appearances between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville. He can play first base, second base and third base and may move around the diamond to give the Reds additional flexibility. It’s unlikely that he’s coming up to ride the bench though, so expect him to see regular action over the month of September, which makes him an intriguing addition in deeper mixed leagues. With Elly de la Cruz a star and Ke’Bryan Hayes’ contract giving him plenty of run at third base, expect Stewart to cut into Matt McLain’s playing time at second base.

Stewart clobbered a titanic 460-foot blast for his first round-tripper of the contest before capping the multi-homer effort with a 112.4 mph missile to right field. The 21-year-old third baseman is hitting .317 (38-for-120) with nine homers in just 32 games since being promoted to Triple-A last month. There isn’t a clear path to at-bats with Cincinnati at the moment, but his time is coming.

Frelick hit seventh against a left-hander once last week, but other than that, he’d led off every game he’d started since June 11, and he’s hit .301/.358/.445 with 32 runs scored in 42 games while batting first. Still, the Brewers obviously needed to shake things up in the midst of a one-game losing streak. Brice Turang, who opened the season as the leadoff man against righties, is leading off today. If the changes sticks, Turang gets a value boost and Frelick becomes more of a fringe option in shallow leagues.

The 21-year-old is now hitting .337/.400/.674 in 23 games at Triple-A with six home runs, 20 RBI, three steals, and a 12/10 K/BB ratio. It’s a shame that the Reds blocked him by acquiring Ke’Bryan Hayes at the deadline, so we’ll need to see how the organization can get Stewart into the lineup.

Frelick also stole his 18th base of the season. It’s the first time in his career that he’s scored four runs. He’s scored seven times the last two days, and a total of 31 times in his 40 games as a leadoff man.

Stewart is the 31st-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. The 21-year-old is hitting .313/.383/.614 with five home runs, 15 RBI, and a 12/10 K/BB ratio in 22 games since being promoted to Triple-A. While it’s unlikely that Stewart will get lots of at-bats in Cincinnati this season, the larger question is where he fits in 2026 with Ke’Bryan Hayes now on the team at third base. Stewart has played 10 games at second base this season, so that may be his path to a roster spot in 2026, but the Reds would need to figure out where to play Matt McLain.

He also walked twice. Frelick got the party started early with a leadoff homer off Paul Skenes to give Milwaukee a 1-0 lead. That would be all the offense the Brewers would need, but they scored 13 more runs anyway. For fun. Frelick is now hitting .293/.353/.411 with nine homers in his 382 at-bats, and he should continue to be a solid fantasy option for the foreseeable future.

Frelick returns to right field and will lead off Wednesday night’s contest in Atlanta following a three-game absence due to left knee soreness. The 25-year-old has been a key component of Milwaukee’s improbable National League-best record this season with a career-best .765 OPS along with eight homers and 17 steals in 98 games.

Frelick will sit out his second straight game after exiting Saturday’s contest against the Nationals with left knee soreness. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern since he hasn’t been placed on the injured list after a couple days. It’ll be rookie Brandon Lockridge taking over in right field once again on Monday evening.

The encouraging news here for the Brewers, and fantasy managers, is that Frelick hasn’t been placed on the injured list after exiting Saturday’s game with left knee soreness. It’ll be rookie Brandon Lockridge taking over in right field for now. There should be some additional clarity on his status at some point later this weekend or early next week, but early indications are that he isn’t facing a lengthy absence.

The Brewers are calling Frelick’s exit precautionary, so the 25-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. Milwaukee may need to have the outfielder undergo further testing just to confirm there’s no structural damage, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he sits Sunday’s finale against Washington.

It’s not yet known what Frelick’s status is, but it’s worth noting that he returned from the injured list less than a week ago from a hamstring injury. There should be an update on his status soon.

Stewart has homered four times in 10 games since being promoted the Triple-A Louisville. The 21-year-old power-hitting prodigy would likely get a look with the Reds at some point down the home stretch if their infield mix wasn’t already overcrowded. He possesses enough over-the-fence power upside to be interesting from a long-term fantasy perspective and figures to finish the year as a top-25 range prospect for dynasty purposes.

Frelick returns to Milwaukee’s outfield mix following a nearly two-weeks absence recovering from a mild hamstring strain. The 25-year-old former top prospect has put together a strong campaign so far, hitting .294/.354/.404 with seven homers and 17 steals in 385 plate appearances over 93 games.

Frelick is aiming to return to Milwaukee’s lineup on Friday after hitting the injured list during the All-Star break with a hamstring strain. He’ll need to clear some additional hurdles, including running the bases at full strength, before he’s cleared to be activated.

This move doesn’t come as a complete surprise as Frelick exited Sunday’s game with the issue and a subsequent MRI exam revealed that he’s dealing with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain. Blake Perkins was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move to take his place on the active roster.

The Brewers want to keep an eye on his progress before making a decision on whether Frelick will need a trip to the injured list. The 25-year-old suffered the strain during Sunday’s game against the Nationals. There’s a good chance he won’t be in the lineup for Friday’s game against the Dodgers, but his long-term status is still very much up in the air.

Murphy also noted that Frelick had been battling through a hamstring injury before aggravating it while making a sliding catch during Sunday’s contest. It sounds like even with the All-Star break afoot, that Frelick could require a stint on the injured list. Expect the Brewers to provide another update on his status once that imaging is completed.

Frelick was lifted from the contest after making a sliding catch in right field during Sunday’s first-half finale. His departure came a couple frames after he appeared to suffer some sort of injury on a stolen base attempt earlier in the contest. There should be an additional update on his status at some point in the near future concerning whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list coming out of the All-Star break.
