It’s a bit surprising to see García return to Texas’ lineup with nothing at stake during the final weekend of the regular season, but he’s back at DH and batting cleanup for Saturday’s nationally-televised showdown in Cleveland. The 32-year-old power-hitter sat out three consecutive games earlier third week due to a lingering quad issue.

The 32-year-old slugger has been dealing with a nagging quad injury and with nothing left to play for there’s no real reason for the Rangers to push him, much to the chagrin of Tigers’ fans who would like to see the Rangers put their best effort forward against the Guardians. Billy McKinney will make his third straight start in right field and will bat eighth against Guardians’ right-hander Slade Cecconi.

García was on the bench on Wednesday, as well, after starting on Tuesday; however, he also missed both games over the weekend due to a quad injury. It remains to be seen if the Rangers will feel the need to play the 32-year-old while he’s at less than 100 percent, but he doesn’t need to be on rosters in redraft fantasy leagues anymore. Billy McKinney will start in right field for the second straight game since being called up from Triple-A.

Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy has admitted that García is still not back to 100 percent yet and will continue to get sporadic days off for the remainder of the season. Ezequiel Duran will start in his place in right field on Saturday and will bat eighth against Adam Mazur and the Marlins on Saturday evening in Arlington.

It’s a bit surprising to see García in there after Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that he’s still not back at 100 percent yet and would probably need another day off. The 32-year-old is back in right field and batting fifth in Wednesday’s pivotal showdown against the Astros.

García takes a seat after going 0-for-8 with two strikeouts in a pair of contests since returning from the injured list over the weekend. It’ll be rookie Alejandro Osuna getting the nod in right field in this one to face Astros righty AJ Blubaugh.

García is back in right field and batting cleanup in Sunday’s series finale against the Mets after missing nearly two weeks recovering from a quad strain. It’s been a down year overall for the 32-year-old veteran slugger, but he remains a strong power/speed combo source for fantasy managers with 18 homers and 13 steals over 125 games.

García also did some running as well, which is a significant step in the right direction after he landed on the injured list last Friday with a quad strain. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters earlier this week that it’s possible the slugging outfielder makes it back to the lineup by the end of the week.

It’s not surprising to see García ultimately land on the injured list here, as the Rangers want to make sure that he gets right before rushing him back into action. Dustin Harris was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place on the active roster.

The encouraging news, at least as of now, is that the 32-year-old slugger has not been placed on the injured list. That means the Rangers still think it’s a day-to-day type of injury. If he doesn’t make progress by Saturday though, something may ultimately have to give. Ezequiel Duran will start in his place in right field and bat seventh against Colton Gordon and the Astros on Friday night.

García, 32, will miss a third-straight game while dealing with his quad injury. The Rangers don’t believe García needs a trip to the injured list, but it’s likely he’ll miss at least another game or two before returning.

No word yet on the severity of the ailment that García suffered during the late stages of Monday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks. It appears the Rangers are going to give him a chance to avoid the injured list since they don’t exactly have a replacement option at this time. There should be a more definitive update regarding the 32-year-old slugger’s outlook at some point this week. He’s likely to miss some time, but it doesn’t sound like an injured list stint is in the cards for now.

So, it’s a new injury for García, rather than an aggravation of his sprained ankle. It sounds like he might go back on the IL, which could lead to a callup for Justin Foscue. Alejandro Osuna would probably be the biggest beneficiary when it comes to playing time.

Garcia, just back from a sprained left ankle, was hurt beating out a potential double-play ball in the ninth, and it might have been that he aggravated the previous injury. He stayed in after a visit from the trainer, but he was in obvious discomfort and not running well while scoring on Jake Burger’s triple afterwards. He was replaced by Alejandro Osuna when the game went to the bottom of the ninth.

The second double and last two RBI did come on one of Oswald Peraza’s 37-mph offerings, but Garcia was already having an excellent game before that, having opened the scoring with a 421-foot homer in the first. The five-RBI game was the eighth of his career. He’s hit in five straight games with two homers since coming off the injured list on Saturday.

García got the party started for the Rangers in this one as he smacked an RBI double off of Yusei Kikuchi in the top half of the first inning. He then came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Cody Freeman. The 32-year-old slugger also singled in the fifth inning. His bat has perked up since his return from the injured list on Saturday and he’s now hitting .228/.272/.398 with 17 homers, 67 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season.

The 32-year-old slugger took live batting practice on the field on Friday without issue and declared himself ready to return. Before he was sidelined, García was hitting .224/.266/.388 with 16 long balls and 64 RBI over 473 plate appearances.

The 32-year-old slugger took live batting practice on the field before Friday’s game and declared himself ready to return. García has been shelved since August 12 due to a mild left ankle sprain. Before landing on the injured list, he was slashing a disappointing .224/.266/.388 with 16 homers, 64 RBI and 10 stolen bases over 473 plate appearances on the season.

It’s known when García picked up the ankle sprain, but the 32-year-old will be out of action for at least a week-plus, and likely longer. Evan Carter (back) was activated off the injured list in a corresponding move.

Rosenthal mentions that the Rangers are pushing for a postseason spot after their strong production over the last two weeks, but they also would prefer to stay under the luxury-tax threshold. As a third-time offender, the Rangers would be taxed at 50 percent for every dollar they spend over the threshold, so it’s a steeper price to pay than most other teams. That could lead to Rangers to trade García right-hander Jon Gray or one of their catchers, Jonah Heim or Kyle Higashioka to free up salary to acquire “another right-handed hitter as well as a high-leverage reliever, such as the St. Louis Cardinals’ Ryan Helsley or Pittsburgh Pirates’ David Bednar.”

The 32-year-old outfielder drew a walk off of Bryce Elder in the opening inning and then came all the way around to score on Wyatt Langford’s bases-clearing three-run double. García then led off the third inning with a single and scored on a two-run knock by Josh Jung. Garcia is hitting a reasonable .250/.300/.429 in July with four homers in 90 plate appearances. It’s only been enough to elevate his season line to 231/.278/.397 with 14 homers, 59 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

García drew a walk to lead off the second inning and scored on a triple by Evan Carter. He then knocked a base hit in the third to drive in two runs. The 32-year-old outfielder is hitting .229/.273/.396 with 14 homers, 39 runs scored, 59 RBI, and ten steals across 403 plate appearances.

Passan reports that the Phillies are looking to “add a right-handed-hitting outfielder with power,” and García would certainly fit the bill there. The 32-year-old outfielder is hitting .230/.273/.402 with 14 homers, 57 RBI, and 10 steals this season, but his fantasy value would improve significantly with a move to Citizens Bank Park and hitting in that lineup.

The 32-year-old slugger smacked a one-out double off of Tarik Skubal in the eighth inning and ultimately scampered home with the tying run on a wild pitch by Tyler Holton. That would be the only run that the Rangers would scratch out in the contest. For the season, García is now hitting .232/.276/.400 with 13 homers, 56 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

Garcia’s home run was his second in the last three games and No. 13 on the year. The 32-year-old annihilated a solo shot off Hunter Brown in the third inning. Garcia is hitting .234 with a .683 OPS and 56 RBI on the season. While Garcia has been mentioned in trade rumors, the Rangers aren’t definitively selling just yet and may as well keep Garcia as long as he’s hitting like this and the team is within reach of the playoffs.

Garcia’s home run was No. 12 on the year for him. The 32-year-old outfielder crushed a solo shot off Lance McCullers in the third inning. He’s hitting .234 with a .675 OPS and 54 RBI on the year. The subject of recent trade rumors, Garcia could be the team’s most valuable trade chip.

García ripped a two-run homer in the eighth inning to cement a blowout victory by making it an 11-3 game. The 32-year-old also singled in a run to bump his RBI total to 53 on the season. García is the subject of trade rumors, and while he hasn’t been a great option the last year and a half, there’s no question the talent is there for him to provide fantasy fireworks.
