Well, that was quick. Ginn struck out seven and allowed four runs over four innings on Monday against the Angels in his return from the injured list. The positive news here is that he’s not dealing with anything arm-related after missing time earlier this season with an elbow issue. He’s likely going to miss at least a couple weeks, even if it’s a low-grade strain.

Ginn was making his first start since being placed on the injured list near the end of April with elbow inflammation, and the results were mixed. The seven strikeouts are nice, but they came while allowing two homers, both two-run shots in the first and third inning, respectively. He allowed six hits in total, but didn’t walk anyone. It could’ve been worse. Ginn will take a 5.60 ERA into a start against the Phillies on Saturday.

Ginn draws the starting assignment for Monday’s series opener against the suddenly red-hot Angels after missing just over three weeks recovering from elbow inflammation. The 25-year-old righty has compiled a pedestrian 4.61 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 15/6 K/BB ratio across 13 2/3 innings (three starts) this season at the highest level. He offers some strikeout upside, but he’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes at the moment.

Ginn heads to the injured list just a couple days after allowing three home runs over 3 2/3 innings on Thursday against the Rangers. No word yet on how much time he’s going to miss. The 25-year-old righty has recorded a serviceable 4.61 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 15/6 K/BB ratio across 13 2/3 innings (three starts) this season at the big-league level.

Ginn allowed all three runs on solo homers, and gave up six hits in total. He also issued a pair of walks, and didn’t have his best control or command while throwing 41-of-71 pitches for strikes. Ginn has allowed three runs in back-to-back starts while failing to reach five innings, and he’s not a recommend fantasy option when he faces the Rangers again next week.

Ginn gave up two runs in the third, and another came across in the fifth. The 25-year-old had some control issues with two walks and 54-of-96 pitches for strikes, but he was able to miss bats and pitched better than his line indicates. Ginn will be back on the bump Thursday against the Rangers, and fantasy managers should look for more consistent (better) options.

Ginn got the call to start after two excellent outings in Triple-A and was outstanding in his season debut for the Athletics. He held the Mets scoreless through five innings before Brandon Nimmo took him deep for a solo homer in the sixth. The 25-year-old right-hander scattered three more hits and two walks while striking out six. Ginn’s fastball was notably higher at 94 mph, up from his 92 mph last season. That improvement and the early results certainly warrant some interest in deeper leagues. He’s currently lined up for a start against the Brewers in Milwaukee on Friday.
