Gil struck out two batters on the afternoon and didn’t allow a base on balls. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball as he served up a solo shot to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the opening inning and another to Alejandro Kirk in the second. The 27-year-old hurler got eight whiffs on 48 pitches on the day, registering a CSW of only 19 percent. With his limited workload in this one, it’s possible that Gil could resurface out of the bullpen later in the series depending on how long the Yankees can push it.

Gil allowed two homers, one of which was a 355-foot fly from Gunnar Henderson that would have been out of only Yankee Stadium and Steinbrenner Field. It was a solid final showing as he tries to make himself a candidate for a potential ALDS roster. In spite of a 4-1 record and a 3.32 ERA in 11 starts since returning from a lat injury, he’ll be left off the Wild Card squad after throwing 79 pitches today.

The 27-year-old right-hander issued a pair of walks in the contest while recording three strikeouts. He twirled five scoreless frames to start the game before allowing a one-out single to Kyle Teel and a two-run blast to Colson Montgomery in the sixth inning. Gil got just three whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll bring a 3.29 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 39/31 K/BB ratio (52 innings) into his final start of the regular season on Sunday against the Orioles.

Although he entered the fifth with a 7-2 lead, Gil couldn’t secure a win tonight, giving up four singles and a walk before being replaced with two outs. Fortunately, Fernando Cruz was able to retire Royce Lewis then and prevent further damage to Gil’s ERA. Gil struck out just two and gave up 12 hard-hit balls, so he probably deserved worse. Still, at 4-1 with a 3.33 ERA in nine starts, he’s been pretty good for the most part, and he should be fine to use against the White Sox next week.

Gil gave up zero hits, walked four and struck out four. After missing as much time as he did earlier this season, a no-hitter isn’t even on the table for Gil. The 27-year-old right-hander was removed after 93 pitches despite six no-hit innings against the Red Sox. Gil extended his streak of starts with two runs or less allowed to seven and has a 2.83 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings since returning to the mound. He’s lined up to face the Twins on the road next week.

Gil’s outing ended with a 106-minute rain delay, but at 90 pitches, he was probably done anyway. He actually struck out just one and walked four today, but the Blue Jays were only 1-for-7 against him with RISP, with that one hit resulting in Bo Bichette getting thrown out at home. Gil is 3-1 with a 3.31 ERA. He’ll make his next start in Fenway against the Red Sox.

Since struggling four weeks ago in his season debut, Gil has made five starts in which he’s allowed one or two runs over five or 5 1/3 innings. The Yankees will be happy if he keeps it going next weekend against the Blue Jays.

Gil surrendered five hits, walked four and struck out five in the 92-pitch outing. He’s given up a total of five earned runs in four starts since allowing five runs in a loss to the Marlins in his return from the IL at the beginning of the month. Next up should be a start Sunday against the White Sox, unless maybe the Yankees add a spot starter to give some guys extra rest.

Gil struggled with his command and issued five walks in the ballgame while striking out three opposing hitters. The Red Sox scratched out an unearned run against him in the second inning as the Yankees made three errors in the inning, then Nathaniel Lowe added on a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. Gil got six whiffs on 93 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll try to get back in the win column as he carries a 4.26 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and a 17/13 K/BB ratio (19 innings) into Tuesday’s battle against the Nationals.

Gil gave up four hits, walked three and struck out four. The 27-year-old right-hander has had consecutive starts with two runs or less and at least five innings pitched. Gil has 11 strikeouts in 10 2/3 innings over his last two starts. He’s done enough to be relevant in mixed leagues at this point. He’s lined up to face the Rays on the road next week.

He left with a two-run lead, but it was blown in the eighth. Gil did allow some hard contact today, most notably on Jeremy Peña’s leadoff homer in the first and Jesús Sánchez’s double to right in the fourth that missed being a Yankee Stadium homer by a foot or so. However, he generated 15 missed swings and 21 called strikes, giving him an excellent 40% CSW on the 91-pitch day. Those on the fence about picking up Gil in leagues in which he’s still available might want to make the jump after this one. He’ll face the Cardinals next.

Gil wasn’t exactly sharp in his 2025 debut. The 27-year-old had missed the entire season with a lat injury prior to Sunday’s start, where he gave up five hits, walked four and struck out three. Gil has strikeout upside, but struggled in his first taste of big league action this year. He’s lined up to face the Astros at home next weekend.

Gil will make his long-awaited season debut on Sunday afternoon at pitcher-friendly loanDepot park after missing four months at the outset recovering from a high-grade lat strain. The 27-year-old reigning American League Rookie of the Year should be rostered in all fantasy formats based on his strikeout upside alone. He’s unlikely to face any workload restrictions out of the gate since he threw 75 pitches earlier this week in his final rehab outing at the Triple-A level.

The 27-year-old will be making his season debut after being out since spring training with a lat issue. He was up to 75 pitches in his last rehab outing, so he should be able to push to 80 or beyond in his first outing. He has considerable strikeout upside, and the matchup is a good one, but Gil had command issues when he was fully healthy, so he remains a bit of a risky bet in fantasy until we see him on the mound. He can at least be added and kept on your bench due to his considerable upside.

Gil threw exactly 75 pitches (50 strikes) in his final rehab outing and will take the ball on Saturday against the Marlins for his long-awaited season debut. The 27-year-old reigning American League Rookie of the Year should be rostered in all fantasy formats based solely on his immense strikeout upside.

It’s expected to be Gil’s final rehab outing before returning to New York’s rotation mix later this week for his season debut. The 27-year-old righty has been out since spring training working his way back from a lat injury. His return means that either Marcus Stroman or rookie Cam Schlittler will be jettisoned from the rotation, unless the Yankees are willing to roll with a six-man mix.

Gil struck out four, issued three walks and threw 67 pitches (44 strikes) in his latest rehab outing. Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters earlier this week that they haven’t decided whether this will be his final rehab start, but that decision should be coming in the next few days. The 27-year-old reigning AL Rookie of the Year figures to rejoin New York’s rotation in early August, at the latest.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Monday that he’s not sure if Gil’s upcoming rehab outing will be his final one before returning to New York. It’ll likely depend how he feels coming out of it and where things stand from a pitch count perspective. The 27-year-old righty, who allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings on Friday for Double-A Somerset in his second rehab start, appears poised to make his long-awaited season debut by early August at the latest.

It certainly qualifies as an electric rehab outing as Gil threw 36 of 50 pitches for strikes and topped out at 97 mph in this one. The 27-year-old reigning AL Rookie of the Year has been out since spring training recovering from a lat strain. New York is going to be cautious with his ramp-up from a workload standpoint, so fantasy managers should anticipate a couple additional rehab outings before he’s ready to make his season debut.

Gil will make his first minor league rehab start on Sunday at Double-A Somerset. The 27-year-old reigning American League Rookie of the Year will need a handful of tune-up outings before he rejoins New York’s rotation. He figures to be ready to go at some point in early August.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Gil will be built up as a starting pitcher, which means he’ll need a handful of starts before pushing for activation. It’s possible he returns in late July, but early August could be more likely. When he does return, he will push either Cam Schlittler or Marcus Stroman out of the rotation.

Gil could potentially kick off a minor league rehab assignment over the weekend, which puts him on track to make it back to New York’s rotation mix at some point in late July. The 27-year-old righty will require a handful of rehab outings to build up his pitch count and stamina since he’s been on the shelf since spring training recovering from a lat strain.

Gil progressed to facing hitters for the first time since suffering a lat strain back in late February. MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch adds that the 27-year-old righty’s fastball was in the mid-90’s during the session. He’ll presumably be ready to kick off an extended rehab assignment at some point in the coming weeks, which gives him a chance to make it back to New York’s rotation by the end of July.

It’s a significant step forward in Gil’s throwing progression as he continues to work his way back from a lat strain that he suffered back in spring training. However, he’ll need several weeks to build up his arm strength and pitch count in the minors before he’s ready to make his season debut, which makes it unlikely he’ll return before next month’s All-Star break. He’s worth stashing in deeper fantasy formats on the likelihood that he makes an impact, especially in the strikeouts department, over the final two months of the year.

Gil resumed throwing at the end of May, but the right-hander still needs to build up arm strength and will need multiple bullpens/rehab starts before joining the New York rotation. Whenever he makes his first start, it’ll be his first outing of 2025 because of his lat strain.
