Despite giving the Rockies seven quality starts in 15 tries, Gordon ends the year with a 6.33 ERA. This is the sixth time he’s given up at least six runs, so he’s on the short list of 2025’s most inconsistent pitchers. It’s not just Coors Field, either, as he had an 8.13 ERA in his six road starts. Still, he probably showed enough to stick around this winter and compete for a rotation spot next spring.

Gordon struck out four batters on the day while issuing one base on balls. The Marlins scratched out a single run against him in the second inning, then added three more in the third on back-to-back home runs by Liam Hicks and Otto Lopez. Gordon got 12 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the afternoon — eight on his changeup — while registering a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll try to finish the season on a high note as he brings a 6.00 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 59/17 K/BB ratio (72 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Mariners in Seattle.

Gordon gave up a solo homer to Manny Machado, and it’d be easy to assume that this would be another clunker for the right-hander. After all, he opened this game with an ERA of 6.60 ERA. But from that point on, Gordon was outstanding; tying his career-high with nine strikeouts and allowing just one more hit. Obviously, fantasy managers need to see much, much more consistency from Gordon to take this seriously. But there’s at least some evidence he’s capable of him having the stuff/command to pitch effectively at this level. He’ll be back on the bump Thursday with a chance to repeat this outing against the Marlins in Miami.

The 27-year-old hurler struck out five batters on the afternoon while allowing one base on balls. He had a lot of difficulty keeping the ball in the yard in this one, serving up a two-run blast to Manny Machado in the opening inning, a solo shot to Jackson Merrill in the second and another to Gavin Sheets in the fourth.

The 27-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits and one walk on the impressive afternoon. The only blemish on his day came on a two-out, two-run double off the bat of Seiya Suzuki in the third inning. Aside from that, he was brilliant. Gordon got 11 swings and misses on 81 pitches on the day — five of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 23 percent. Gordon exited with a 4-2 lead and in line for a victory but the Rockies’ bullpen was unable to hang on for him. He’ll attempt to replicate this fine performance as he carries a disappointing 6.07 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and a 41/14 K/BB ratio (56 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Padres.

Gordon served up a solo homer to Jesús Sánchez to lead off the second inning. Two singles and a walk then loaded the bases before Gordon was able to get out of the jam. He settled in for four more scoreless frames, ending his day with five strikeouts over six innings. He’s now held both the Dodgers and the Astros to just one run over his last two starts. Still, he’s remains off the fantasy radar with a 6.44 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and a 32/13 K/BB ratio across 50 1/3 innings. He’ll face the Cubs in Colorado on Sunday.

A Tesocar Hernández homer accounted for the lone run off Gordon, who gave up 26 earned runs over 15 1/3 innings in his previous four starts. His 92 pitches produced only five misses on 45 swings and a 22 percent CSW, but the Dodgers just didn’t hit him very hard. Gordon is now 4-5 with a 7.11 ERA, and due to face the Astros in Houston next time out.

Well, it’s a win, and it’s a vast improvement on the 10 runs he allowed against the Diamondbacks in his last outing Sunday. Not sure if that qualifies as “good” but definitely improved. He walked one, struck out two, and lowered his ERA to a still abhorrent 7.98 in 2025. There’s zero reason to consider starting Gordon against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

One small positive from the devastating outing is that Gordon punched out six batters on the day and didn’t allow a base on balls. He served up a three-run homer to Adrian Del Castillo in the first inning and an RBI single to Ketel Marte in the fourth. Gordon then settled in and kept the Diamondbacks at bay until they strung together six straight two-out singles to push four runs across and chase him in the fifth. Two additional runs scored after he exited. The 27-year-old hurler got 12 swings and misses on 77 pitches on the afternoon, posting a CSW of 34 percent. He’ll try to shake this one off as he carries an 8.37 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and a 22/8 K/BB ratio (33 1/3 innings) into a rematch against the Diamondbacks in Colorado on Friday.

Gordon had a surprising 3.13 ERA after four starts, but he’s given up 13 earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in his last two, more than doubling his season mark to 6.59. Since they don’t have any clear upgrades, the Rockies figure to stick with him and start him against the D-backs on Sunday.

Gordon shut out the Cardinals at home for six innings last time out. Tonight, he retired only nine of the 19 batters he faced, giving up eight hits and two walks along the way. He dropped to 2-3 with a 4.85 ERA ahead of what will probably be a Monday outing at home against the Jays.

Kyle Freeland pitched six scoreless innings against the Rays on Opening Day. Márquez did the same versus the Phillies on the final day of March. And now, 96 games later, another Rockies starter has thrown six shutout frames. Plus, unlike the previous two times, the Rockies actually won the game. Gordon, who struck out three and walked three, moved to 2-2 with a 3.13 ERA, which would warrant immediate induction to the Rockies Hall of Fame if such a thing existed. He’ll surely stay in the rotation after this, lining him up to face the Guardians next week.

Gordon is up and will start Wednesday against the Cardinals after the Rockies placed Germán Márquez on the injured list with biceps inflammation. Gordon doesn’t miss bats and plays for the worst team in baseball so there’s very little fantasy value in mixed redraft leagues. The value doesn’t exactly shoot up in NL-only formats, either.

Gordon will remain stationed in the minors after missing more than one month recovering from a left oblique strain. He’ll probably get another look at some point in the second half.

Gordon might have been sent down anyway with Chase Dollander back, though Carson Palmquist was also a possibility. Gordon had a 4.24 ERA in three starts for the Rockies, but he allowed a few unearned runs and struck out only 10 in 17 innings.

The Champaign, Illinois native pitched well in what was a bit of a homecoming. The Cubs’ offense has been one of the best in baseball to this point and they struggled to sustain rallies against Gordon. However, his lack of swing-and-miss stuff – just six total here – and place on the Rockies should keep him off the radar in nearly every fantasy league. However, if there was ever a time to roster him it would be for his next scheduled start on the road against the Marlins.

Gordon walked one while striking out four opposing hitters on the night. He was up as the 27th man for Thursday’s doubleheader so his job was to give the Rockies length — meaning he had to stick around and absorb some innings after the Tigers struck for six runs in the third inning. To his credit though, he settled in nicely afterwards and the only other run he allowed came courtesy of the bullpen after Gordon exited in the seventh. He got 10 whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 21 percent. He’ll be an option the next time the Rockies require a spot starter.

Gordon will take the ball for Thursday’s nightcap at Coors Field and is not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes. The 27-year-old righty finished last year with a calamitous 8.65 ERA across eight starts for the Rockies.
