As expected, Hicklen gets sent right back to Triple-A Toledo to make room for the activation of John Brebbia on Friday. The 29-year-old outfielder collected a couple of hits and swiped a base as the Tigers crushed the Rockies in the second game of their doubleheader on Thursday. He should get another chance with the big league club before the season is through.

The 29-year-old outfielder was recalled prior to the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader and made the most of his opportunity. He reached on an infield single in the third inning that loaded the bases, then came around to score on a three-run double by Gleyber Torres. Hicklen singled to center in his next at-bat and swiped second base before being stranded there. He’s probably heading back to Triple-A Toledo after the game so the team can activate John Brebbia from the injured list on Friday, but for at least one day Hicklen got to feel like a true big leaguer.
