Dombroswki described Harper’s 2025 campaign as something less than an elite season like he’s had in the past during his end of year press conference. It’s notable that Dombrowski has spent time downplaying his remarks and recently told The New York Post that “Harper’s not getting traded.” The 33-year-old generational talent, who batted .261/.357/.487 with 27 homers this past season, has passed the midway point of his 13-year megadeal with the Phillies. He’s owed $144 million over the remaining six years and has a full no-trade clause. It’s notable that he expressed some frustration with Dombrowski’s remarks, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a strong possibility he’ll be on the move this winter.

Harper will miss a third straight game while dealing with his ailment. The Phillies will also be without J.T. Realmuto (finger) in this borderline meaningless game against the Marlins. Harper should be back in the coming days.

It’s not a significant concern for the playoff-bound Phillies with a handful of days left in the regular season, but they’re presumably going to give Harper as much time off as he needs to get back to full strength ahead of next week’s playoff action. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

It doesn’t sound like an injury is involved, but it’s odd timing, considering the Phillies had Monday off and are facing a right-hander in Edward Cabrera tonight. Harper is even 4-for-10 with a homer off Cabrera in his career. The Phillies have Otto Kemp at first base tonight.

Harper hit a go-ahead homer off Alex Vesia in the eighth inning tonight, only for Andy Pages to tie it back up with a solo shot in the bottom of the ninth. The Phillies went on to win in 10 after a J.T. Realmuto sac fly went unanswered in the bottom of the inning.

Harper put his Phillies ahead with a go-ahead, two-run shot in the third inning and they never looked back. It was an impressive shot too, traveling an estimated 400 feet to the opposite field. That gave Harper three homers over the past week and nine over the last month as he’s officially caught fire.

Harper smacked an RBI double off of David Peterson in the fifth inning that pulled the Phillies to within a run at 4-3. He then plated another run with an infield single in the sixth inning that made it 6-4 and capped off the scoring in the contest. It has been a bit of a down year offensively for the 32-year-old superstar, slashing .264/.354/.498 with 25 homers, 70 RBI and 11 stolen bases across his 523 plate appearances.

It’s Harper’s first game in the leadoff spot since the final day of the 2022 season (which was also the only time he did so in 2022). The Phillies could have moved up Bryson Stott with Trea Turner out, but they’ve elected to keep stacking their best hitters at the very top. Stott, who spent 38 games as a leadoff man in the first half of the season, is batting seventh tonight.

Harper hit his 23rd homer of the season when he took Jacob Misiorowski deep in the fourth inning. He also singled to improve his slash to .269/.360/.502. This is not even close to one of Harper’s best seasons, but that’s more compliment to previous campaigns than insult to this one. He’s still plenty relevant.

Harper singled off of Cal Quantrill in the opening inning and rode home on J.T. Realmuto’s two-run blast. The 32-year-old slugger then did some yard work of his own with a mammoth 442-foot (107.3 mph EV) blast to center on the first pitch of the third inning. He also walked in the fourth inning and scored on a two-run double off the bat of Alec Bohm. On the season, he’s now slashing .270/.362/.505 with 22 long balls, 63 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 467 plate appearances.

Harper set the tone in this one by launching nearly 900 combined feet of homers. The 32-year-old generational talent’s sixth-inning blast traveled 440 feet and carried a stratospheric 112.9 mph exit velocity, pushing him over the 20-homer plateau for the 11th season dating back to 2012. He followed it up with a titanic 448-foot moonshot a couple innings later to cap off the multi-homer outburst. He’s in the midst of an extended power surge at the moment, going deep a staggering 11 times over his last 30 games.

Harper got the Phillies going with a 106.8 mph double in the fourth inning and was later knocked in by Nick Castellanos to tie the score at one apiece. He also added a 100.8 mph double in the first inning and a 104.5 mph groundout later in the game. He’s seeing the ball well right now and could be in for a big summer.

Harper reached on a fielder’s choice in the first inning and scored on a base hit. Harper did his part to try and drag the Phillies back into this game. His first homer put them ahead 4-1 in the third inning before starter Jesús Luzardo coughed up that lead. Then, Harper’s eighth inning blast brought them back within one run, which is where the game would eventually end. He entered this game with just 10 home runs on the season in what’s been a bit of a down season for him power wise, but we know he can go on a tear at any moment.

The 32-year-old slugger drew a two-out walk off of Nick Pivetta in the first inning, advanced on an error and ultimately scored on a throwing error by Luis Arraez. Harper also doubled off of Adrian Morejon in the eighth inning and scored the go-ahead run on J.T. Realmuto’s two-out RBI double. Harper finishes the first half of the season hitting .261/.374/.451 with 10 homers, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases in his first 302 plate appearances.

Harper’s fourth-inning big fly to left field against Giants veteran Justin Verlander — his 10th homer of the season — was his first extra-base hit since returning from the injured list back on June 30. It was his first round-tripper since June 3. His four extra-base hits represented a career-high single-game mark for the 32-year-old fantasy stalwart. Injuries have undoubtedly impacted his on-field performance, but Harper appears to be rounding into form heading into next week’s All-Star break.

Philadelphia doesn’t want to push things for a workload standpoint with Harper only a few days removed from a stint on the injured list with right wrist inflammation. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart should be back at the cold corner for Friday’s series opener against the Reds.

Harper, who did not go on a rehab assignment, is back from a 3 1/2-week absence due to right wrist inflammation and playing first base and batting third tonight. Otto Kemp will get to stick around, as Buddy Kennedy was DFA’d to make room on the roster. Kemp, though, would seem to be in line for considerably less playing time. Maybe he’ll start in left field against lefties, which had been Weston Wilson’s old job before he was demoted.

Thomson didn’t dismiss the possibility that Harper could be activated for Monday’s series opener against the Padres. It certainly sounds like he’ll be ready to return to Philadelphia’s lineup at some point in the coming days after progressing to taking on-field batting practice and going through his full pregame routine the last few days. The 32-year-old fantasy superstar has been out since early June recovering from right wrist inflammation.

The Athletic’s Matt Gelb adds that Harper remains without a definitive return timetable, but it sounds like there’s a chance he’s back in Philadelphia’s lineup at some point later this week or early next week. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart has been out since early June recovering from wrist inflammation. It’s a positive sign that he’s resumed hitting and going through his normal pregame routine again. He’s expected to take batting practice on Wednesday. There’s a chance he’s back later this week to face Atlanta, but that’s purely speculation at this point.

Harper was placed on the IL with wrist inflammation on June 7, so it’s good to see him taking swings just two weeks later. He is set to hit in the cage at some point this week, after which he could potentially begin a rehab assignment. All of which means that we might see Harper back in Philadelphia in just a couple of weeks.
