Rogers has great control and typically does a good job of keeping the ball on the ground, but the Mets overpowered him today with seven hits and nine hard-hit balls. The 24-year-old Rogers should be a part of the Jays’ Triple-A rotation this year after amassing a 4.07 ERA and a 76/20 K/BB in 110 2/3 innings in Double-A last year.

Holmes outdueled Pirates’ right-hander Bubba Chandler in this one, with the only baserunner against him coming on a one-out walk to Ryan O’Hearn in the opening inning. The 29-year-old hurler got better as the game went on too, striking out five of the final six batters that he faced. He generated a whopping 18 swings and misses on 64 pitches in the ballgame — 13 of those on his slider — while posting an elite CSW of 42 percent. You can take spring training stats with a grain of salt, but Holmes has been among the most dominant hurlers in all of baseball, firing 12 1/3 scoreless innings with a 0.73 WHIP and a 16/6 K/BB ratio. It would seem he has locked up a spot in the Braves’ Opening Day rotation.

Holmes walked three and gave up a couple of hits, but Shay Shanaman was able to strand the bases loaded after replacing him with two outs in the second. Holmes then came back out for a scoreless third. Holmes fastball today was up 0.5 mph from last outing against the Twins, leaving him 0.7 mph shy of his 2025 average. So, he’s trending the right way.

Holmes, returning from a partially torn UCL and a flexor strain, averaged 93.3 mph with his fastball today, down a reasonable 1.2 mph from his 2025 average. He gave up four hard-hit balls today, but all were caught in the outfield. The lone hit he allowed came on an 85-mph fly from Luke Keaschall, the softest contact Holmes gave up on the day.

The 24-year-old hurler wasn’t intimidated at all facing a lineup of Tigers’ regulars, retiring all nine hitters that he faced in order. Rogers struck out three batters in the contest — Kerry Carpenter, Gleyber Torres and Kevin McGonigle. He threw 22 of his 27 pitches for strikes, posting a CSW of 37 percent despite getting just one swing and miss. He’s not going to make the Opening Day roster, but Rogers showed on Sunday that he’s capable of getting big league hitters out and that could earn him a shot at some point during the 2026 season.

Statcast was down while Holmes was on the mound, but the in-game velocity readings were good for the rehabbing right-hander. Holmes is a near lock to open up in the Braves rotation with Spencer Schwellenbach and Hurtson Waldrep down.

Holmes was sitting in the mid-90’s with his fastball during his latest early-spring throwing session, according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman. Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos confirmed earlier this week that the 29-year-old, who is working his way back from a partial UCL tear in his right elbow, will have a spot in the club’s season-opening rotation. He’s a worthwhile late-round dart throw in deeper mixed leagues, especially if Atlanta opts against putting a governor on his workload.

Holmes feels good and ready to battle for a rotation spot this spring. “That was the first image I’ve ever had on my elbow,” he said. “So, nobody knows if that [UCL] tear was there beforehand and [the new injury] was really just a flexor [strain]. Honestly, I think that’s what it was, because if I had a tear in the flexor tendon and the UCL, that would have been a whole lot different. I wouldn’t have recovered as fast.” Holmes initially seemed destined for a bullpen spot in 2026, but the Braves never did make a much-anticipated rotation addition this winter and now they’ve already lost Spencer Schwellenbach for months. It’d seem to leave Holmes in good position at the moment, though it’s still possible the Braves could bring in a starter.

Good news for the Braves. Holmes should be in the mix for a rotation spot in the spring, but he might have a better chance of remaining healthy in the pen. The right-hander was 4-9 with a 3.99 ERA in 21 starts and one relief appearance before getting hurt last season.

Holmes made the decision to embark on the rest and rehabilitation route after weighing several medical opinions since hitting the injured list back in late July with elbow inflammation. The 29-year-old righty will miss the rest of the current season, but his outlook is now much brighter heading into next season. The decision offers a much faster recovery timetable, but there’s the lingering possibility than any sort of setback during his rehabilitation process would likely result in a surgical procedure, based on the history of pitchers taking this path in the past.

Holmes will miss the rest of the season after landing on the injured list over the weekend with elbow inflammation. The question now is whether he’ll undergo Tommy John surgery or opt for the less invasive internal brace procedure, which offers a shorter recovery timeline. There should be an update on his status at some point in the next few weeks.

The 29-year-old right-hander landed on the injured list on Sunday with right elbow inflammation and now it’s clear that he’ll miss the remainder of the season. This also cleared a spot on the club’s 40-man roster for the addition of Erick Fedde.

It’s another major blow to Atlanta’s rotation, which has already been hit hard by injuries to Chris Sale (rib) and Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow). Holmes emerged as a surprising stabilizer this season, posting a solid 3.99 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 123/54 K/BB across 115 innings (22 appearances, 21 starts). The 29-year-old right-hander will undergo further evaluation and imaging to determine the severity of the elbow issue and how much time he might miss. With only two months left in the season, there’s a real chance he doesn’t return.

Holmes will be evaluated further to determine the severity of the injury, but the 29-year-old mentioned soreness in his right elbow after he was hit during Saturday’s start against the Rangers. He’ll be out for at least two weeks, but the testing/imagine will determine just how much time Holmes is going to miss.

Holmes gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out two. The 29-year-old right-hander got off to a rough start in the first inning as he allowed a home run to Aaron Judge and an RBI single to Paul Goldschmidt. Holmes settled in from there, only allowing one more run in the sixth inning. He has a 3.81 ERA and 121/52 K/BB ratio in 111 innings this year. Holmes is lined up to face the Rangers on the road next weekend.

Holmes allowed two runs and took the loss in his last start and cashed in on that karma immediately as he allowed five runs, but was bailed out by his teammates in a no-decision on Friday. The 29-year-old right-hander was removed after throwing 86 pitches in three innings. Holmes will take a 3.77 ERA and 119/50 K/BB ratio in 105 innings into the All-Star break.

Holmes struck out five and walked three, and the only real damage against him was a two-run home run allowed to Jackson Holliday in the third inning. Holmes got plenty of swings and misses today with 17 whiffs on 49 swings for a 35 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. He struggled with his four-seam fastball command, but that’s his worst pitch, so he was able to cover it up with tremendous command of his cutter and plenty of whiffs on his slider. Holmes is on a good roll lately and is worth starting next week against the Cardinals.

The 29-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits — all of them singles — and three walks on the evening. It’s the second time that Holmes has eclipsed double digit strikeouts this season, as he punched out 15 against the Rockies in mid-June. Holmes generated a jaw-dropping 27 swings and misses on 106 pitches in the ballgame — 16 of them on his slider alone — while posting a studly CSW of 39 percent. Unfortunately for Holmes and his fantasy managers, the Braves weren’t able to give him a single run of support. He’ll try to replicate this masterpiece as he brings a 3.47 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 113/45 K/BB ratio (96 innings) into Tuesday’s showdown against the Athletics in West Sacramento.

Holmes had originally been scheduled to start on Wednesday, but he will now start on Tuesday, with Didier Fuentes being bumped to Wednesday. Holmes last pitched on Thursday, so he will be on four days’ rest and should be used as you normally would in fantasy leagues.

The 29-year-old right-hander punched out five batters on the evening while issuing three free passes. The Mets scratched out single runs against him in the fourth and fifth innings, but Holmes was able to strike out Tyrone Taylor with the bases loaded to end the fifth and avoid further damage. Holmes got 17 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — eight on his slider — while registering a CSW of 30 percent. Now 4-7 on the season, he’ll carry a 3.70 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 103/42 K/BB ratio (90 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Angels.

It’s the longest scoreless outing of his major league career. Holmes benefitted from two double play balls in the game, and he struck out Agustín Ramírez to strand the bases loaded in the fifth. The win makes him 4-6 with a 3.71 ERA. He’ll face the Mets for the first time this season next week.

Holmes gave up two hits, walked two and struck out 15. The 15 strikeouts were a career-high for Holmes and came just a day after Spencer Strider struck out 13 Rockies on Saturday. Holmes’ previous career high in strikeouts is nine, and he’s now struck out nine or more in three of his last four starts. Unfortunately, the Braves’ offense didn’t support Holmes and he was saddled with a loss against the worst team in baseball this year. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 3.97 ERA and his 3.47 xFIP shows more room for improvement. Holmes is set to face the Marlins on the road next weekend.

Holmes allowed five hits on the night while also issuing three free passes. All of the damage that was done against him came via the long ball, with Jackson Chourio launching a two-run homer in the third inning and Jake Bauers adding on a solo shot in the sixth. The 29-year-old hurler got a whopping 20 swings and misses on 100 pitches on the evening — six or more on each of his fastball, slider and curveball — while posting an elite CSW of 38 percent. Now 3-5 on the season, Holmes will bring a 4.07 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 77/32 K/BB ratio (73 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Mets.

Holmes was able to strikeout four among his 10 outs, but he also issued a pair of walks and needed 64 pitches before being pulled. The 29-year-old has been mostly solid in his first full year of MLB action, but this one saw his ERA rise to 3.99 with a 68/29 K/BB ratio over 67 2/3 innings. Holmes will be back on the bump next week against Milwaukee.

Holmes topped his previous season high in strikeouts by two, but he finished one out shy of a fourth straight quality start. His peripherals remain considerably worse than his solid 3.78 ERA, so it’s hard to recommend him in mixed leagues right now. He’s due to make his next start at home against the Diamondbacks.

Holmes recorded his third strain quality start with seven innings of one-run ball against the Padres on Saturday. He gave up a the one run in the third inning on a hit batter and a base hit. He scattered five more hits and walked one batter while striking out six on 12 swinging strikes. The 29-year-old right-hander now holds a 3.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and a 55/26 K/BB ratio across 58 2/3 innings. Holmes lines up for a start against the Red Sox in Atlanta on Friday.

Holmes exited with a 6-2 lead, but the Braves pen failed to hold up its end of the bargain. It’s Holmes’ third quality start in four outings this month, and he’s 2-3 with a 4.01 ERA and a 49/25 K/BB in 51 2/3 innings overall. He’ll likely face the Padres next time out.

TJ Friedl burned Holmes for a lead-off home run on a hanging curveball and not much came easily after that. Friedl got Holmes for another homer in his next at-bat and in all, he’d given up four runs through the first four innings. He did manage to pitch into the sixth inning though and still forced 12 swings-and-misses, but that curveball command was spotty all game and forced him to lean on his slider a bit more than he would’ve liked. He’s set for a two-start week against the Nationals and then Red Sox in Fenway Park.

Holmes certainly pitched well enough to win this game if he didn’t have to go up against the red-hot Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Alas, he came out of the gate ready to go against this tough Dodgers lineup. He struck out Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman consecutively to begin the game and retired the first 10 batters he faced overall in order. Then he fell victim to a mini-rally where the Dodgers got two hits on deflected grounders followed by a walk and sacrifice fly. Then, Betts took him deep in his third at-bat, but this was still an amazing start. His slider command was excellent and he buried tons of them on the back-foot of all the talented left-handed hitters in this order. Overall, it was great to seem him pitch well coming off a poor start against the Diamondbacks and he will look to keep the good times rolling in his next scheduled start against the Reds.

Holmes struggled with his command, as he allowed three homers to Eugenio Suarez, and also issued three walks with 57-of-93 pitches landing for strikes. It’s a far cry from the strong effort he had against Minnesota where he gave up one run over 6 2/3 innings, and the first time he’s allowed more than four runs in an outing this year. Holmes will attempt to bounce back and lower his shaky 4.50 ERA when he faces the Dodgers next weekend.
