Holliday was pulled off his previous rehab assignment last week due to some lingering wrist soreness, but it sounds like he’s ready to get back into game action. The emergence of unheralded Jeremiah Jackson as a viable everyday option for the Orioles at the highest level means that Holliday can take his time and make sure he’s feeling 100 percent ready before making his season debut.

Matt Holliday mentioned that Jackson was compensating after his hamate bone surgery, which caused some soreness on the opposite side of his wrist. He rested and went back to Baltimore to meet with the medical team, where they confirmed there were no new issues. Jackson should begin a rehab assignment this weekend with Single-A Delmarva and then could go back to Triple-A Norfolk after the weekend. With Jeremiah Jackson thriving with the Orioles, Holliday could battle Coby Mayo for playing time when he eventually returns.

Holliday will get some time off as he continues to recover from the hamate fracture he suffered in his wrist. The 22-year-old should return to action shortly, and has a chance to be back with Baltimore near the early portion of May.

Holliday took infield drills at Camden Yards ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks during Triple-A Norfolk’s off-day. The 22-year-old, who has been on the shelf working his way back from a hamate fracture in his wrist, has spent the last couple weeks on a minor league rehab assignment that will apparently continue through the end of this week. It’s mostly been Jeremiah Jackson filling in at second base of late for the Orioles and he’s done a nice job, hitting .318 (7-for-22) with one homer over his last seven games.

Holliday remains without a definitive timetable to return to Baltimore as he continues to work his way back from a hamate fracture in his wrist. He told David Hall of The Virginian-Pilot that he’s still not feeling 100 percent, which might explain why he hasn’t been summoned back to the big leagues yet.

Baltimore is giving Holliday some additional ramp-up time on his rehab assignment after missing most of spring training recovering from a hamate fracture in his wrist. The 22-year-old second baseman should be ready to make his season debut at some point in the near future.

Holliday is batting .308 (4-for-13) with a pair of doubles and two walks in four contests since kicking off a rehab assignment earlier this week. The 22-year-old former top-overall prospect, who is working his way back from a hamate fracture in his wrist, figures to return to Baltimore for his season debut at some point later this week.

Holliday played nine innings at second base and recorded a 99.6 mph exit velocity on an eighth-inning double. The 22-year-old former top prospect figures to be ready to make his season debut at some point later this week. He hit the injured list at the end of spring training after suffering a hamate fracture earlier in camp.

Holliday is the last of the spring training broken hamate trio yet to return. Playing in his first rehab game is a great step towards that, poor results notwithstanding. A return to the Orioles within the next week or so when’s eligible to return from the 10-day IL looks incredibly likely. Blaze Alexander is expected to retreat to the bench when Holliday is ready to return.

Holliday is trending towards an early-season return to Baltimore’s lineup after suffering a hamate fracture in his right wrist earlier this spring. The 22-year-old former top prospect, who was officially placed on the 10-day injured list earlier on Wednesday, will get a couple rehab contests under his belt before making his season debut.

Holliday was able to take part in live batting practice over the weekend, so he’s not too far away from returning, but he will get in some games at Triple-A and maybe return in a couple of weeks. Blaze Alexander will likely play second base in the meantime.

Holiday will also take part in live BP Friday. The 22-year-old continues to make steady progress from his hamate bone surgery, and while it seems very likely that the former first-overall pick will open the year on the injured list, there’s a chance he’ll be available in the early portion of the campaign. A breakout season for Holliday is well within reach, even with the missed time.

Holliday had surgery in February and had aimed for a mid-April return at the time. He appears on track for that right now. Holliday is unsure if he’s going to get into a spring training game with the Orioles before camp breaks at the end of this weekend. However, he is “expecting to play in Triple-A Norfolk’s opening game,” and believes he would be back with the Orioles a few weeks after that. There should be some residual power lag in the months after that, given the nature of his surgery, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect a lot of power growth for the 22-year-old this season.

Holliday is racing against a ticking clock to be ready for Baltimore’s season opener in late March, but he’s trending towards a return to game action before Grapefruit League play concludes. The 22-year-old second baseman is recovering from surgery to address a hamate injury in his right wrist. He’s resumed swinging a bat and should be ready to face live pitching at some point in the next week or two.

Holliday has already resumed throwing after having his stitches removed earlier this week. The 22-year-old former top prospect underwent surgery earlier this month to remove the hamate bone from his right wrist. He’s targeting a return to Baltimore’s lineup at some point in mid-to-late April. It’ll be some combination of Jeremiah Jackson and newly-acquired Blaze Alexander filling in at the keystone during his absence.

This is another step in the right direction following his hamate bone surgery. Holliday has stated that he’s hoping for a mid-April return, and that feels likely at this point. Most of the hitters who undergo hamate bone surgery can return to about 80-85 percent of their past production in short order. The aspect that takes the longest to come back is power, so fantasy managers shouldn’t be expecting any kind of power improvement from the 22-year-old this eason.

The dynamic 22-year-old suffered a broken hamate bone in his right wrist as he was plunked during a live batting practice session. Holliday noted his disappointment, saying that he felt as though he had crushed his offseason routine and that his swing was in a great place entering spring training. If he only misses a couple of weeks, it shouldn’t impact his fantasy draft stock too drastically, though there are serious questions about what the injury will do to his power output.

For reasons that weren’t exactly clear, the Orioles were especially quick to rule out Holliday for Opening Day as a result of the injury he suffered while hitting last Thursday. It sounds like they expect him to miss much of April, which should lead to Blaze Alexander starting at second or perhaps Coby Mayo playing third while Jordan Westburg slides over to second.

He’ll undergo surgery tomorrow. Orioles GM Mike Elias said his timeline will be measured in “weeks” after Opening Day, so it sounds like fantasy managers can expect him to miss most if not all of April. The Orioles could move Jordan Westburg to second base early in the season to play Coby Mayo at third, or perhaps they’ll simply give Blaze Alexander and/or Jeremiah Jackson more run at second base.

Holliday was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to discomfort in his knee and was held out of action on Thursday as well as a precautionary measure. It appears to have been just a minor issue though as he’s right back in there on Friday and batting leadoff against Will Warren and the Yankees.

Holliday was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with knee discomfort, and he will not be in the lineup on Thursday either. With Baltimore already eliminated from playoff contention, it makes no sense for them to put the 21-year-old in the lineup unless he’s 100 percent. Whether or not he makes it back into the lineup this weekend remains to be seen. Jorge Mateo will start at second base in Holliday’s place on Thursday.

It sounds like the Orioles aren’t going to take any chances in what amounts to a meaningless contest with Holliday experiencing some knee discomfort. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 21-year-old former top prospect sit out a couple additional games during the final week of the season for precautionary reasons. Jordan Westburg moves over to the keystone with rookie standout Jeremiah Jackson handling the hot corner.

Holliday broke the 0-0 in this game with a run-scoring single in the third inning. That would wind up being the only run the Orioles would push across as the Blue Jays stormed past them. He’s had an excellent month of September with a .353/.450/.559 slash line as he tries to finish what’s been an otherwise disappointing season strong.

After breaking up Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s no-hit bid in the ninth inning of Saturday’s game, and jump-starting an eventual comeback victory, Holliday takes a seat with lefty Clayton Kershaw toeing the rubber for Los Angeles in this one. It’ll be rookie Luis Vázquez getting an opportunity at the keystone in this one.

It looked like Holliday was merely sparing the Orioles some embarrassment in a night on which they were celebrating the 30th anniversary of Cal Ripken Jr. breaking Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games streak, but after Yamamoto departed, Blake Treinen loaded the bases and walked in a run and Baltimore ended up winning on a two-run single from Emmanuel Rivera. The homer was Holliday’s second in three games and 17th overall. He’s mostly been treading water lately with his .248/.316/.394 line.

Holliday ensured that the Orioles wouldn’t be shut out in this one as he smacked an RBI double off of Spencer Bivens in the ninth inning and then scored on an RBI knock by Gunnar Henderson. The 21-year-old infielder has started to come into his own this season, slashing .246/.313/.384 with 15 homers, 51 RBI and 14 stolen bases (in 23 attempts) over 556 plate appearances.
