The results are good, but Henderson was pulled at 65 pitches in this one, and the Brewers have limited him to about three or four innings in most of his recent outings. According to Brewers manager Pat Murphy, that is part of a larger plan to keep Henderon healthy in shorter outings. The question for fantasy managers is whether or not that plan would carry over to the big league level. Murphy said he viewed Henderon as “a Major League pitcher,” but he didn’t specify starter. Perhaps the Brewers think it’s better for his long-term health to remain in a multi-inning role.

This was probably about as long as Henderson was going to pitch regardless of how effective he was, but it would have been nice if he had performed a little better. Henderson is still working his way back after missing most of the spring with an elbow issue. He’ll return to the minors now after serving as Milwaukee’s 27th man. Come May or June, he might get a real rotation spot and offer mixed-league value.

Henderson will be called up as the 27th player and get the start in the second game of the twin-billing. Brandon Sproat will follow the right-hander, so it’s likely Henderson will only get a time through the lineup at most. There’s long-term upside in the 24-year-old’s profile, but there are probably better options on Sunday’s slate.

There’s no official 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader against the Royals, but it sounds like Henderson could be officially called up prior to the nightcap to provide additional length behind starter Brandon Sproat. The 24-year-old struck out five over three innings during his lone appearance for Triple-A Nashville this season.

Henderson, who missed the past couple of weeks with an elbow issue, fanned three tonight and showed slightly better velocity than his 2025 norms. He needs to get stretched out again, but once he does, he could rejoin the Brewers and perform well enough to be helpful in mixed leagues.

Henderson is the headliner among this group. Given the injuries in the Brewers’ rotation, he had a shot to earn an opportunity with the big league club to start the season but he has been fighting elbow soreness of his own throughout the spring which held him back. He’ll start the year biding his time in the rotation at Triple-A Nashville.

It’s a bit unclear whether Henderson will make an appearance in Cactus League play or get in some work on the backfields against minor-league competition. The 24-year-old pitching prospect is working his way back from elbow soreness that cropped up earlier this month. The emergence of Kyle Harrison as a viable back-end rotation option likely means he’ll open the year back at Triple-A Nashville.

Henderson has been shut down due to elbow soreness, which is a concern since elbow inflammation ended his season last year. As of now, it appears Henderson is feeling good and could even pitch in a Cactus League game this weekend. It remains to be seen if that will be enough time for him to be considered for the fifth spot in the Brewers’ rotation.

That likely means Henderson, who has been shut down with elbow soreness since late February, will throw primarily fastballs in a non-max effort session. The hope is that he will begin a “return to game progression” on March 15th. That almost assuredly means he will not be ready to start the season. Considering Henderson also dealt with elbow inflammation at the end of last season, there is some cause for concern around his health. He also has to compete with Kyle Harrison, Robert Gasser, and Brandon Sproat for innings in Milwaukee’s rotation, which makes Henderson a player we’d avoid right now in redraft leagues.

The 24-year-old hurler missed time during the second half of the 2025 season due to inflammation in his elbow, so this is certainly a situation that fantasy mangers should be monitoring even after Henderson reported feeling improvement on Monday. He has been rising up fantasy draft boards in recent weeks, so perhaps this injury news will slow that trend.

Henderson didn’t allow a hit or a walk with no strikeouts. The 23-year-old opens the year as one of the favorites to win one of the final spots in the Brew Crew’s rotation, and there’s more fantasy upside in his right arm than your typical backend option.

Good news for a 2026 sleeper. The Brewers stand to lose Brandon Woodruff and Jose Quintana in free agency and could shop Freddy Peralta, so they’re rotation might look quite different next year. Henderson won’t necessarily have a spot initially, but he’ll be pretty interesting when his opportunity comes.

If Henderson returns during the regular season, it’d probably just be for the final weekend. He might be able to help the Brewers in short stints in October.

It clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Erick Fedde, and it confirms that Henderson won’t pitch again in 2026 with inflammation in his right elbow. The 23-year-old is one of the better prospects in the Milwaukee system, and he should be a part of the Brew Crew’s staff if he’s healthy enough to pitch in 2026.

It’s not known when Henderson experienced the injury, but it’ll keep him out of action for at least two weeks and likely longer. The 23-year-old’s roster and rotation spot will be taken by Tobias Myers, with Myers recalled and starting Saturday’s game against the Mets.

Henderson was called up on Sunday when Jacob Misiorowski (tibia) was put on the IL. Henderson threw 51 of his 76 pitches for strikes while posting a 23 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW. As has been the case in his 25 1/3 MLB innings this season, Henderson located his four-seam fastball well and then leaned on his changeup for whiffs. It didn’t work quite as well today, but it was a solid start overall. He’s lined up to face the Mets next weekend, but that could be his last start in the big leagues if Misiorowski is ready to return as quickly as he expects.

Henderson draws the starting assignment for Sunday’s game against the Nationals with fellow rookie Jacob Misiorowski hitting the injured list with a tibia contusion. The 23-year-old pitching prospect has excelled in the big leagues during a couple brief chances, compiling a microscopic 1.71 ERA and 29/6 K/BB ratio across 21 innings (four starts). He’s worthy of a pickup in all fantasy formats since he’ll likely stick around for at least a couple turns in Milwaukee’s rotation over the next few weeks.

The moves makes room for DL Hall on the roster. Going 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA and a 29/6 K/BB in four starts wasn’t enough to keep Henderson on the Brewers’ roster with both Brandon Woodruff and Jose Quintana also soon coming off the injured list. He’ll be worth a try in mixed leagues when he gets another shot.

Henderson struck out six and walked two, and left with a 3-1 lead before the bullpen let him down. The 23-year-old posted a 20 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW, which is even more impressive when you consider that his changeup was ineffective on the day, getting just two whiffs on 17 swings and registering a 14 percent CSW. Henderson has pitched well enough to keep his spot in the Brewers’ rotation, but with all of Aaron Civale, Brandon Woodruff, and Jose Quintana nearing returns from the IL, it’s hard to see Henderson remaining in the rotation for too much longer. If he does get booted, he will certainly be back up at some point this summer.

Henderson scattered just two hits — both singles — and two walks on the evening. He piled up a career-high 20 swings and misses on 90 pitches on the evening, with nine of those coming on his fastball which averaged 93.3 mph. Henderson also got eight whiffs on his changeup while registering a CSW of 31 percent. The 23-year-old right-hander has exceeded all expectations through his first three starts with the Brewers, going 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and a 23/4 K/BB ratio across 16 innings. Despite the fact that reinforcements are coming soon to the Brewers’ rotation, it’s going to be hard for them to justify not keeping Henderson around when he’s throwing the ball this well. His next test should come on Sunday against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Henderson was brilliant on Sunday in his big-league debut, recording nine strikeouts and allowing one run over six innings to pick up a win over the Athletics. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect’s dynamic changeup looks like a legitimate weapon at the highest level, but he’s probably going to have to work on a third pitch to pair with his fastball/changeup combo to achieve sustained success at the highest level. He’s likely to get another opportunity in Milwaukee’s rotation at some point in the coming weeks, which makes him a worthwhile stash in deeper mixed leagues.

Henderson was available out of the pen when the Brewers called him up Tuesday, but since he was never needed, the team opted to give him the start over Tyler Alexander today with great results. Using his fastball and changeup the vast majority of the time, he finished with 13 whiffs and a 29 percent CSW. Henderson isn’t viewed a big upside guy, but the changeup is strong and he’s not going to walk many. He should be able to help the Brewers, even if he’s not a mixed-league guy. Still, with Tobias Myers about to return from the IL, it’s possible he’ll head back to Triple-A now.

It’s not a surprise to see Henderson in the majors, but there had been nothing in recent days to suggest he was about to be added. That suggests this might be a brief stay as someone who can immediately provide innings if needed. Henderson, 23, is one of the Brewers’ top prospects, and there’s a good chance he’ll be a part of the rotation at some point this summer. Maybe it will even happen now, but we’ll see. He had a 3.21 ERA and a 24/10 K/BB over 14 innings in three starts for Nashville.
