Jung moves up to the prime spot in Texas’ lineup to face Yankees lefty ace Max Fried on Monday night at Globe Life Field. The injury-plagued 28-year-old has been red-hot at the dish, hitting .375 (21-for-56) with four homers and 13 RBI over his last 15 games. It’s never been a talent issue for Jung. He’s healthy and he’s tearing the cover off the ball, which means fantasy managers should be rostering him in all formats.

Despite going 0-for-17 in March, Jung is currently hitting .299 on the season. He’s at .371/.430/.671 with four homers in April alone. Statcast thinks the slugging percentage is mostly a mirage, but it is really encouraging that he’s striking out just 17.5 percent of the time this year. His career rate coming into the season was 27.9 percent.

Jung managed to stay hot in a game where the rest of the Rangers’ lineup failed to get much going. The double was his ninth of the season and his 12th extra-base hit in his last 12 games. After starting the season going 0-for-17 through four games in March, he has a .387/.451/.661 slashing in April and looks to possibly be turning a corner.

Jung was responsible for the only two runs the Rangers were able to pick up when Graham Ashcraft was in the game. That’s the third roundtripper of the season for the third baseman, and he’s driven in 11 runs over his 21 games played. Jung has disappointed over the past two seasons more often than not, but it’s certainly possible a breakout campaign could be coming as a 28-year-old.

Jung is swinging a very hot bat at the moment. His second inning double started things off for the Rangers who wound up cruising to a win and his fifth inning RBI extended his RBI streak to five straight games. He has five doubles over that stretch as well and it feels like he’s hitting consistently for the first time in years. Here’s to hoping he can keep it up.

Jung took George Kirby to get the Rangers on the board with a solo homer. The 28-year-old has homered twice with seven RBI, and after an ugly start to the season, he’s now slashing .303/.361/.500. That’ll work.

Jung’s doubles were hit 102, 99 and 105 mph, and he also had a 99-mph GIDP. Delivering three hits in back-to-back games has taken him from .231/.298/.288 to .290/.343/.452 on the young season. Tonight’s game was his first ever with three extra-base hits.

Jung broke a 3-3 tie as he clobbered a 2-2 fastball from Scott Barlow for his 364-foot (96.9 mph EV) game-changing blast. He also singled and doubled in the ballgame, finishing the day 3-for-5. On the season, the oft-injured third baseman is slashing .263/.323/.386 with one homer and five RBI in his first 62 plate appearances.

Jung was back at third base and hitting ninth following a two-game absence due to some minor physical issues. The 28-year-old could appeared to be on the verge of losing some starts to Ezequiel Duran or Josh Smith prior to Wyatt Langford getting hurt.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Jung is a little banged up, but is still available off the bench. The 28-year-old third baseman could use an extended mental reset since he’s off to a dreadful 6-for-32 start with zero extra base hits through nine games. Ezequiel Duran takes over at the hot corner in his place.

Jung will get a rest after an ugly 0-17 start to the season for the 28-year-old. He’ll get a reset with Ezequiel Duran starting at third base and hitting ninth.

Jung missed time with an adductor strain this spring, but he was 6-for-18 with three extra-base hits when he was able to play. He’s now 0-for-12 with five strikeouts to open the year. He did have his first hard-hit ball on the one non-strikeout today, but it was a routine groundout. In fact, six of his seven balls in play thus far have been groundouts, with one turning into a double play. The Rangers probably don’t have a ton of faith in Jung at this point, but the same goes for his primary alternative in Ezequiel Duran. They’ll likely stick with Jung most of the time for now.

Jung has nine total bases in two games since returning from an adductor strain that cost him 2 1/2 weeks. It’d certainly be great for the Rangers if he could bust out at age 26 after spending a fair amount of time on the IL in each of his first three full seasons. He hits the ball hard enough, and now he just needs to get his strikeout rate down some. It didn’t really happen last year, but his contact numbers were easily the best of his career.

The triple should have been caught, but Derek Hill appeared to lose the ball. Still, it’s good to see Jung back in action after more than two weeks off due to an adductor strain. He’s still in line to be the Rangers’ primary third baseman, though after hitting .252/.294/.390 in 131 games last year, he has a lot to prove as he enters his fourth full season.

Jung is likely to return to Cactus League action in a couple days, if not sooner, as he continues to work his way back from an adductor strain that put him on the shelf earlier in camp. The 28-year-old third baseman will go undrafted in most fantasy leagues but is a name to watch on waiver wires based on his talent.

Jung is trending towards getting back into spring contests later this week after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 adductor strain back in late February. The power-hitting third baseman managed to play a career-high 131 games last year, but finished with just 14 homers.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told reporters Jung will be shut down from baseball activities for the next 10 days before he’s potentially cleared to return. The 28-year-old third baseman should have enough time to recover and still be ready in time for Opening Day. His fantasy appeal is strictly limited to AL-only formats given his health issues in recent years.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Jung felt “a little something” in his hamstring and that this is precautionary, adding that “it’s February 26.” Jung has yet to even come close to a full season, with last year’s 131 games standing as his current career-high. Thus, any injury with him should be monitored closely. Jung hasn’t hit well enough to be more than an AL-only league starter at third base for fantasy managers.

It feels like the magic may have run out for the Rangers’ “little rascals” as they’ve lost four games in a row and been swept by the Astros to fall further out from playoff contention. Jung’s double brought home one of their two runs and he;s desperately trying to close what’s been a disappointing season on a high note.

Jung can thank the Crawford Boxes for tonight’s homer, which was hit 352 feet to left. It was his first since Aug. 31. He came into tonight having hit .156/.191/.222 in 12 games this month.

Jung ambushed the very first pitch that J.T. Ginn threw in the second inning, crushing a 405-foot (103.3 mph EV) solo shot that increased the Rangers’ advantage to 3-0. He then added an RBI double in the ninth inning. Jung struck out in each of his other three plate appearances in the ballgame. For the season, the 27-year-old infielder is now slashing .259/.304/.405 with 13 homers and 53 RBI in 415 plate appearances.

Jung has been dealing with some calf issues and has been a part-time player of late, though this week, that was probably more about his performance than the calf; he came into tonight in a 5-for-43 slump since Aug. 6. He’ll probably reemerge as a full-timer until he gets hot, but he can’t be picked up in shallow leagues until that happens.

Jung took grounders before today’s game. He missed four games last week before returning as a DH on Monday. He didn’t start Tuesday, as the Rangers wanted Joc Pederson DHing against a right-hander, but he’s back in there today against a lefty. The Rangers are off Thursday.

Jung finds himself back on the bench with Joc Pederson, who belted a clutch game-tying homer against Yankees closer Devin Williams during Monday’s series opener, at DH. The 27-year-old third baseman, who crushed a walk-off homer in the 10th inning of Monday’s marathon affair, is managing a lingering calf issue. He should be available off the bench for a late-game situation, if necessary.

Jung’s home run was his 11th of the season. He hit a three-run walkoff home run off Jake Bird in the bottom of the 10th inning. Jung is 13-for-34 (.382) with three home runs and eight RBI over his last 10 games. He’s hitting .252 with a .697 OPS and 43 RBI this year.

There wasn’t a ton of reason for optimism after Jung missed four consecutive games due to a lingering calf issue, but he’s back in there for Monday’s showdown at Globe Life Field. It’ll be Josh Smith at the hot corner once again, but the Rangers will have Jung’s bat back in the lineup to face Yankees lefty Max Fried.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters he wants to give Jung another day off as he continues to battle a calf issue, which has kept him out of the lineup for three straight games at this juncture. It sounds like there’s a decent chance he’s ready for Sunday’s series finale against Seattle.
