    Recap

Ronald Acuña Jr. clobbered a two-run homer to lead Atlanta to a 4-1 win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Acuña absolutely devoured a first-inning offering from Johan Oviedo; one that traveled an estimated 451 feet to center. The 27-year-old also drew a walk to give him a slash of .290/.417/.518. His season started late because of his ACL injury, but Acuña played well when he was able to give it a go. He’ll have a full offseason to get healthy ahead of his age-28 season, and hopefully we’ll get optimistic reports about him running to restore some of his stolen base upside.

Ronald Acuña Jr. seems to have shifted his batting stance after going through an extended slump.

Acuña Jr. was hitting .198 in his first 30 games after the All-Star break and struggling to hit with the kind of power we had seen from him earlier in the season. Starting in the middle of September, he opened up his stance a little more, moving his front foot closer to third base before loading. It’s unclear if that’s the main reason for his success, but he has been on fire since September 9th, hitting .353/.492/.667 in 14 games with five home runs, 14 runs scored, eight RBI, and two steals.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo home run as the Braves eked out a one-run victory over the Nationals on Tuesday evening.

The 27-year-old superstar ambushed a first-pitch slider from Brad Lord in the sixth inning, crushing a go-ahead, 433-foot (111.3 mph EV) solo shot that gave the Braves a 2-1 advantage they’d never relinquish. Acuña also struck out twice in the ballgame. For the season, he’s slashing .285/.414/.514 with 20 long balls, 40 RBI and eight stolen bases in 394 plate appearances.

    Recap

Ronald Acuña Jr. walloped his 19th home run of the season and walked three times, leading Atlanta to an 11-5 blowout win over the Nationals.

Acuña has caught fire down the home stretch following a prolonged slump coming out of the All-Star break, homering four times in his last 11 games. The 27-year-old generational talent took Nationals lefty MacKenzie Gore deep in the opening frame and wound up reaching base safely in four of his six plate appearances in the one-sided affair. He’s looked like a fantasy superstar again of late, batting an absurd .346 (18-for-52) with four homers, 13 RBI and two steals over his last 15 games.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 1-for-4 and blasted an opposite-field two-run homer on Friday night as the Braves walloped the Tigers 10-1 in Detroit.

The 27-year-old superstar drew a walk in the opening inning and scored on a two-run single off the bat of Ozzie Albies. He then broke the game wide open with a 386-foot (104.8 mph EV) two-run blast off of Charlie Morton in the second inning that extended the Braves’ lead to 6-0. He’s enjoying another terrific all-around season at the plate, slashing .284/.406/.503 with 18 long balls, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases in 374 plate appearances on the year.

Ronald Acuña Jr. homered and reached three times in a blowout win over the Nationals on Monday.

Acuña’s homer gives him 17 on the season. It’s of course worth pointing out that total is affected by him missing close to two months to begin the season, but also by mostly ineffective play since the start of August. The 27-year-old is still hitting .275/.395/.495, which tells you how incredible he was prior to that funk.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is batting third for the third consecutive game on Saturday against the Astros.

Acuña was moved back up to the heart of Atlanta’s lineup earlier this week after an extended slump at the outset of September. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar slugged his 16th round-tripper of the season during Friday’s series opener and appears to be getting back on track.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is batting seventh on Sunday against the Mariners.

Acuña was dropped lower than the cleanup spot for the first time since the 2018 season earlier this weekend and appears poised to continue batting in the lower third of Atlanta’s lineup for now. The 27-year-old is just 1-for-25 over his last seven games and is batting .198 (21-for-106) with three homers and two steals in 30 games since the All-Star break.

Ronald Acuña Jr. has been dropped to sixth in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Mariners.

It’s the first time since July 14, 2018 that Acuña has batted lower than fourth in Atlanta’s lineup. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar has been scuffling at the plate since the All-Star break, batting .202 (21-for-104) with just three homers, nine RBI and two steals over 29 games. It feels like only a matter of time before he gets back on track, but Atlanta is going to put less pressure on him for now.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is out of the Braves lineup for Friday’s game against the Mariners.

Acuña has gone hitless in his last five games, and the Braves, who tend not to rest their regulars often, decided he needed a second day after the off day Thursday. Jake Fraley is playing right field tonight. Ozzie Albies is hitting third.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-4 with a walk, stolen base and a pair of runs scored as the Braves poured it on late to defeat the Marlins in Miami.

The 27-year-old superstar singled off of right-hander Sandy Alcantara in the top half of the first inning and deftly swiped second base before being stranded at third. He then worked a bases-loaded walk to bring in a run in the ninth inning and rode home on Ozzie Albies’ three-run blast. He has been outstanding since his return from the injured list, slashing .303/.420/.542 with 15 homers, 31 RBI, 55 runs scored and six stolen bases through his first 66 games on the season.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is in right field and batting third on Saturday against the Guardians.

Acuña went 0-for-3 with a walk on Friday in his return from the injured list following a two-week absence due to a right calf strain. Fantasy managers should brace for the possibility that Atlanta exercises extreme caution with their franchise cornerstone’s workload over the final six weeks, especially since they’re out of postseason contention. He’s a field-tilting talent when he’s 100 percent healthy.

Braves activated OF Ronald Acuña Jr. off the 10-day injured list.

Acuña missed almost exactly two weeks with his right calf strain, which was initially diagnosed as an Achilles injury. The 27-year-old offers enormous fantasy upside, but it’s fair to wonder if Atlanta will take more precautions with the outfielder with the team not in playoff contention. Still, fantasy managers should be thrilled to see him back.

Braves’ manager Brian Snitker told reporters on Tuesday that Ronald Acuña Jr. (calf) won’t require a minor league rehab assignment and could be activated from the injured list before the week is through.

Specifically, Snitker noted that Acuña won’t be activated on Wednesday, though Thursday’s series finale against the Mets seems like a realistic possibility. Either way, it sounds like the 27-year-old superstar should be back for Friday’s series against the Guardians in Cleveland. He has been shelved since late July due to a low-grade right calf strain.

Acuña Jr. (calf) has progressed to springing and outfield drills.

Acuña, who took on-field batting practice on Thursday without any issues, is eligible to be activated from the injured list at any point and the fact that he’s back running the bases and participating in defensive drills seems to suggest that a return isn’t too far away.

Ronald Acuña Jr. (calf) took batting practice on the field on Thursday without any issues.

The 27-year-old superstar looked as spry as ever and was hitting bombs to all files during the impressive session. The Braves plan to wait until he’s completely pain-free before bringing him back from the injured list, but it doesn’t sound like he’s going to require a rehab stint before jumping right back into the fold.

Ronald Acuña Jr. (calf) resumed hitting on Monday.

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker told reporters Acuña remains without a definitive return timetable after hitting the injured list last week with a Grade 1 calf strain. He added that they’re going to wait until he’s completely pain-free before activating him. It’s typically a two or three-week absence for a low-grade calf strain, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until at least mid-August.

Ronald Acuña Jr. has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 right calf strain and will miss 2-3 weeks.

The positive news for fantasy managers is that Acuña avoided a serious Achilles injury after an MRI revealed a low-grade calf strain, which should only cost him a couple weeks. The 27-year-old superstar should make it back to Atlanta by late August, which is a massive relief for fantasy managers heading towards the home stretch. Given the circumstances, this latest development is about as favorable as anyone could’ve hoped for.

    Transaction

Braves placed OF Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day injured list with right Achilles tendon inflammation.

This move was reported on Tuesday night and is now official. The 27-year-old will have an MRI on Wednesday that will determine how long he will be sidelined. If he’s out for an extended period of time, it would be a major indictment of Atlanta’s coaching staff since Acuña mentioned after the game that he first felt the soreness on Monday after the game and convinced the coaching staff to let talk his way into the lineup on Tuesday in Kansas City.

Ronald Acuña Jr. will be placed on the 10-day injured list with right Achilles tightness, according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman.

It’s a brutal development for both Atlanta and fantasy managers, as Acuña was spotted in a walking boot after exiting Tuesday’s game against the Royals. A definitive update on the 27-year-old superstar’s outlook should come at some point ahead of Wednesday’s series finale in Kansas City, but fantasy managers should brace for a potential extended absence.

Ronald Acuña Jr. was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Royals with right Achilles tightness.

It’s worth noting that Atlanta was staring down a six-run deficit when Acuña left the contest with two outs in the sixth inning after appearing to be limping slightly in right field. It doesn’t seem to be a significant concern, and his exit may ultimately prove to be precautionary in nature, but fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status. He finished 0-for-2 with a walk. There should be some clarity on his status at some point heading into Wednesday’s series finale in Kansas City.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two walks against the Royals on Monday.

Acuña was picked off for his first caught stealing of the year, but it was an awfully nice night otherwise. The big blow was a 468-foot blast off Rich Hill. It was his 14th homer in 54 games since coming off the IL, putting him at essentially his MVP pace (he had 41 homers in 159 games in 2023).

Ronald Acuña Jr. is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Twins.

The 27-year-old will take a seat with a day game after a night game. It’s an interesting choice with the team trying to win the series against the Twins, but Atlanta may be prioritizing the health of their star during the second half of a season in which it looks like they won’t be making the playoffs. Eli White will start in right field and bat eighth on Wednesday.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Yankees on Sunday.

The 27-year-old outfielder crushed a solo shot over 450 feet in the ninth inning off Devin Williams, it was his 13th bomb of the season. The Braves would ultimately still fall short, losing to the Yankees 4-2. Acuña is hitting .326 with a 1.047 OPS and 24 RBI on the year. The Braves have struggled this year, but nothing Acuña has done has disappointed the team or his fantasy managers in 2025.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, a double, a triple and an RBI against the Yankees on Friday.

Acuña tallied two extra-base hits and was on-base three times in the win, but his performance Friday will perhaps be remembered for a long time for his defensive exploits. With one out in the third inning and men on first and second, Yankees slugger Cody Bellinger scalded a fly ball into the right-field corner. Acuña smoothly caught the ball over his shoulder and was able to turn towards the infield in one motion. Even though the 27-year-old outfielder caught the ball flat-footed, he had enough arm strength to throw out Jorbit Vivas, who didn’t slide, at third base. It was another highlight reel play by Acuña, who remains one of the most exciting players in all of baseball.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is batting third on Saturday against the Cardinals.

It’s the first time Acuña has been moved out of the leadoff spot since making his season debut back in late May. The move might lead to a decrease in stolen base opportunities, if it becomes permanent, but that would be offset by an uptick in RBI chances over the final two-plus months. It’ll be Jurickson Profar leading off on Saturday afternoon at Busch Stadium.
