Kriske is out of options, so he’ll go right on to the active roster. The 31-year-old had pitched six scoreless innings for the Cubs this season, though he walked five (one intentionally) in the process. He has an 8.78 ERA in 27 2/3 major league innings since debuting with the Rockies in 2020.

The 31-year-old hurler made just one appearance with the Cubs, hurling two scoreless frames with one strikeout. There’s a chance that he could attract some interest on waivers.
