The 27-year-old right-hander has done a nice job out of the Tigers’ bullpen in his rookie season, posting a 4.10 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 36/9 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings. He’ll help to fortify the middle innings and get the ball to their late-inning tandem of Will Vest and Kyle Finnegan.

Lee is no stranger to the trips between Toledo and Detroit, and the 26-year-old will head back to Triple-A to make room for Kyle Finnegan. Lee will probably be back before the 2025 campaign comes to a close.

Burns has looked like one of the very best pitching prospect in baseball this season. The hard-throwing 22-year-old has dominated Double-A lineups with his triple-digit fastball, recording a stellar 1.88 ERA and 35/3 K/BB ratio across 24 innings (five starts) since being promoted back in late April. There’s a chance Cincinnati decides he’s ready for the big leagues in the second half, but that feels a bit aggressive. He’ll likely enter next year as the top pitching prospect in the minors.

Lee has yo-yoed between Detroit’s bullpen and Triple-A Toledo already on several occasions this season as he continues to serve as extra middle relief depth. The 26-year-old rookie holds a sharp 1.00 ERA across nine innings (eight appearances) at the highest level. He’s certainly pitched well enough to deserve a longer look.

Lee returns to the majors ahead of Saturday’s game against the Rangers to provide Detroit with some extra long relief depth with starter Casey Mize (hamstring) hitting the injured list. The 26-year-old righty has made six relief appearances this season in his first taste of the majors.

The 26-year-old hurler pitched in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader and wasn’t going to be available for the nightcap most likely, so he became the unfortunate roster casualty here. Lee has posted a 1.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and a 6/3 K/BB ratio through his first 6 1/3 innings with the big league club. It shouldn’t take him long to earn another opportunity with the Tigers.

Burns hasn’t skipped a beat since being promoted to the Double-A level a couple weeks ago, allowing two runs on 10 hits with a 13/1 K/BB ratio across nine innings (two starts). The flame-throwing 22-year-old righty is quickly cementing his status as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and might wind up reaching the big leagues in the second half of the season at this rate.

Burns continued to dazzle in his Double-A debut after three dominant outings to open the year in the High-A Midwest League. The 22-year-old, who routinely hit triple digits in this latest outing, is quickly establishing himself as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball with a sparkling 2.87 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 25/6 K/BB ratio across 15 2/3 innings (four starts). He’s put himself in the conversation for top-20 status from a dynasty perspective.

Lee had a 6.75 ERA and a 12/3 K/BB in 9 1/3 innings out of the pen for Toledo. This might be a brief stay for the 26-year-old, but hopefully he’ll at least get to make his major league debut at some point.

Burns earns a promotion to the upper minors after compiling a pristine 3.09 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 20/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (three starts) for High-A Dayton. The hard-throwing 22-year-old righty, who was the second-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, has looked like one of the best pitching prospects in baseball during his professional debut. He’ll make his debut for Double-A Chattanooga this week and could reach the doorstep of the majors by midseason.

The final pitching line doesn’t seem that impressive, but it’s worth noting that Burns showed some serious moxie in his latest outing, reeling off three scoreless frames after coughing up three runs on a pair of first-inning homers. The hard-throwing 22-year-old is cementing his status as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball with a sublime 20/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (three starts) to open his professional debut.

With Jackson Jobe reaching the big leagues, in addition to both Andrew Painter and Bubba Chandler on the precipice of getting there, there’s an argument for Burns as the top pitching prospect left in the minors. The hard-throwing 22-year-old has looked unhittable in a pair of early-season starts at High-A, piling up 13 strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings of work. He’s the real deal.
