Phillies optioned RHP Max Laxar to the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Lazar heads to Philadelphia’s spring training site to remain part of their stay-ready group in case he’s needed during the postseason as an injury replacement. The 26-year-old righty finishes with a serviceable 4.79 ERA across 41 1/3 innings over 36 appearances this season in the big leagues.

Tigers OF prospect Max Clark hammered a two-run homer on Friday for Double-A Erie.
Clark tends to fly under the radar a bit because he doesn’t possess top-of-the-scale raw power or speed. However, he excels in virtually every facet of the game, checking every metaphorical box for a game-changing impact talent. The 20-year-old prodigy, who was the third-overall selection in the 2023 MLB Draft, has gone deep three times in his last five games and is up to 12 round-trippers in 96 games across two levels this season. We’re not ruling out a September call-up, but his full-time opportunity is likely to come at some point next season.

Tigers OF prospect Max Clark is in center field and leading off for the American League in the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game.
Clark and fellow Tigers top prospects Kevin McGonigle and Josue Briceño, who were all promoted earlier this month to Double-A Erie, anchor a junior circuit lineup that is jam-packed with intriguing talents. McGonigle might be the top pure hitter in the minor leagues and has cemented his status as a legitimate top-five prospect for dynasty purposes thanks to his blend of elite plate skills and consistent hard contact. The rest of the lineup features fellow elite shortstop prospect Sebastian Walcott in addition to fascinating slugger Jhostunxon Garcia, also known as The Password. Here’s the full lineup: Clark (CF), Braden Montgomery (LF), C.J. Kayfus (1B), Garcia (RF), Harry Ford (C), Briceño (DH), Walcott (3B), McGonigle (SS), Lombard Jr. (2B) and Parker Messick (P).

The Tigers promoted top prospects Max Clark, Kevin McGonigle and Josue Briceño from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie on Sunday.
Clark, the third overall selection from the 2023 draft class, was hitting .285/.430/.427 with seven homers, 47 RBI and 12 stolen bases in his first 68 games at West Michigan. McGonigle was even better there — slashing a blistering .358/.450/.617 with seven homers, 39 RBI and three stolen bases in just 42 contests. Briceño was no slouch himself, slashing .296/.422/.602 with 15 long balls and 57 RBI. The Tigers own the best record in the American League at the moment and their future continues to look exceedingly bright.

Max Lazar was credited with a save while firing a scoreless 11th inning against the Athletics on Saturday.
Lazar has his first ever save with the scoreless inning. The 25-year-old has a chance to help the Philadelphia bullpen, but it’s impossible — and foolish — to project him getting more save chances. It took Philadelphia using five relievers before him to get this one.

Tigers OF prospect Max Clark went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Friday for High-A West Michigan.
Clark’s impressive three-hit performance included his second round-tripper of the season. The 20-year-old prodigy is hitting .440 since the start of May and boasts a robust .876 OPS through 26 games for High-A West Michigan. He projects as an impact fantasy contributor in runs scored, batting average and stolen bases once he reaches the majors and should continue to grow into some additional over-the-fence pop. He’s a top-10 dynasty prospect heading towards the midway point of the 2025 campaign.
