It’s simply bizarre that the Reds have chosen to use a healthy Lodolo, their second most important pitcher, like this. They should have at least let him keep going in a close game tonight, but they pulled him after 14 pitches, apparently to keep him available for Game 3. Nick Martinez replaced him to start the sixth and wound up being charged with four runs, with the Reds’ deficit increasing from one run to five.

Lodolo took over with one out and none on in the fourth and gave up a single, a walk and a double to score a run. he stayed in to open the fifth, but he was pulled after a one-out walk. It wasn’t the boost the Reds were hoping for when they turned to Lodolo today, but the team advanced to the Wild Card in spite of losing. Lodolo could be lined up to start Game 3 against the Dodgers behind Hunter Greene and Andrew Abbott, but that’s just speculation at this point.

Francona added that Lodolo completed a light bullpen session early on Sunday without any issues and could be used in relief, if needed, during Sunday’s pivotal showdown against Milwaukee. The 27-year-old lefty appears to be fine after making a precautionary exit from Thursday’s start against the Pirates with a right groin injury.

It’s unclear what happened with Lodolo, but he didn’t try any warmup pitches after getting a visit from the trainer. Lodolo has a lengthy history of non-arm-related injuries, and hopefully this is another one of those. That he remained in the dugout initially after departing, instead of retreating immediately to the clubhouse, seemed like a good thing. Lodolo was terrific today before exiting with a 2-0 lead through 6 1/3 innings. He nearly had an immaculate inning in the fifth, getting eight strikes on eight pitches before Rafael Flores failed to chase the ninth pitch out of the zone. Flores did end up striking out on six pitches.

Lodolo struck out seven and induced 20 whiffs, but he allowed nine hits, including homers from Dansby Swanson and Matt Shaw. It’s the third time in four starts that he’s allowed at least four runs, and his ERA is back up to 3.44. He’ll probably make his next start Thursday against the Pirates, though there’s the chance the Reds could push him back if they find themselves out of contention.

Lodolo gave up two homers in his previous seven starts before Jacob Wilson, Colby Thomas and Nick Kurtz all took him deep today. It’s just the third time in 26 starts this season that he’s allowed five runs. The Reds will need better from him next weekend against the Cubs.

Lodolo was lifted after 79 pitches, which is probably related to the missed time, and unfortunately, the Padres responded with three runs right away in the sixth. Lodolo remained 8-7 while lowering his ERA to 3.10. He’ll likely make his next start Sunday against the A’s.

The Reds will have a bullpen game tonight, with Scott Barlow slated to start versus the Blue Jays. No word yet on when Lodolo might pitch again.

Lodolo return to the mound after missing a little over three weeks with a blister, and the left-hander was not at his best. He did strike out six, but he allowed five hits and a walk in a lackluster effort from the 27-year-old. Expect Lodolo to be better Tuesday in his second start back against the Blue Jays.

Lodolo is back after missing close to three weeks with a blister on his left index finger, and he’ll start Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers. The 27-year-old has pitched very well in 2025, but keep in mind that this is a tougher matchup even before considering the absence.

It’s the first IL stint for Lodolo this year after four last season. The Reds will need to be careful here, since Lodolo, who has gone 8-6 with a 3.05 ERA in a stellar campaign, also dealt with blisters last summer and then suffered a finger strain after returning. Nick Martinez figures to go back into the rotation in his place and face the Pirates on Saturday.

Lodolo was lifted from the contest with two outs in the second inning after just 23 pitches. It’s worth noting that he dealt with a blister issue last June that cost him two weeks. There should be an update on his status following the contest. The timing couldn’t be any worse for Cincinnati as their bullpen was ravaged over the weekend during the Speedway Classic. Nick Martinez, who threw 103 pitches just a couple days ago, took over in relief. Not good.

The 11 strikeouts are a new season high for him and one off his career high from a 2023 start against the Phillies. The only damage came on a 342-foot homer from Tommy Edman that didn’t even rate as a hard-hit ball; it checked in at 94.2 mph. Lodolo’s ERA stands at 3.09, and he’s due to face the rival Cubs next Monday.

Sensational. Lodolo struck out eight without issuing a walk, and needed just 105 pitches — 76 of those strikes — to get the complete game. The southpaw has been outstanding in 2025, and this effort lowers his ERA to 3.08 while improving his K/BB to 112/23 over 122 2/3 innings of work. He’ll get a chance to repeat this effort against the Dodgers next week.

After allowing two runs in the first two innings, Lodolo settled in beautifully. He retired 10 in a row following a run-scoring single by Jeff McNeil and 17 out of the final 19 batters he faced to end his start. His changeup danced off the low-and-away corner of the plate and forced five swings-and-misses on just eight total swings! All of which came against right-handed batters. This was the second time he’s completed seven innings this season and he now has a tremendous 3.33 ERA in what’s been a very quiet coming of age season. His next start is scheduled to come on the road against the Nationals.

The 27-year-old southpaw struck out four batters on the day and didn’t allow a base on balls. The only time that the Marlins put a runner in scoring position against him came as Xavier Edwards reached on a two-out bunt single in the third inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. Lodolo generated 10 swings and misses on 91 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 25 percent. He has been a major asset for fantasy managers in the first half of the season, going 6-6 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 97/22 K/BB ratio over 102 2/3 innings in 19 starts.

Lodolo kept the Phillies scoreless through four innings before Edmundo Sosa took him deep for a solo homer in the fifth. Alec Bohm then got to him in the sixth, going yard for a go-ahead, two-run homer. Lodolo would complete the sixth with eight strikeouts on the day. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 3.58 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 93/22 K/BB ratio across 100 2/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Cincinnati on Thursday.

Lodolo held the Padres scoreless through three innings until Xander Bogaerts took him deep for a solo blast to lead off the fourth. He allowed the first two batters to reach in the sixth and move into scoring position on sacrifice bunt before he was relieved at 95 pitches. Lodolo struck out five. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 3.52 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and an 85/20 K/BB ratio across 94 2/3 innings into a start against the Phillies in Philadelphia on Saturday.

It certainly wasn’t a vintage Lodolo performance as he was lifted after throwing a whopping 94 pitches (65 strikes) and recording only 13 outs. He piled up six strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The only damage against him came courtesy of a first-inning homer by Yankees icon Aaron Judge. He’ll carry a respectable 3.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 80/18 K/BB ratio across 89 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Padres.

Lodolo allowed three hits, walked two and struck out four in his 10th quality start this season. It’s a cheap way to get a complete game, but he deserves some good luck after often being limited by non-arm injuries and a lack of run support since debuting in 2022. The win makes him 20-19 with 4.31 ERA in 63 career starts. He’ll face the Yankees next.

Carlos Santana’s third-inning grand slam did most of the damage. Lodolo struck out six and allowed just two hard-hit balls besides the slam. It’s his shortest outing of the year and just the third time he’s allowed more than three runs. He’ll likely fare better next week against the Twins.

TJ Friedl and Christian Encarnacion-Strand have homered for Cincinnati. Nick Lodolo was at 86 pitches through six innings, and it seems unlikely, though not impossible, that he would have come back out for the seventh. He’ll definitely get a no-decision now after play resumes Saturday at 2:10 p.m. EDT. Still, the suspension might work out for the Reds; Elly De La Cruz is expected to rejoin the team Saturday and could be inserted right into the game. Lodolo is slated to make his next start Wednesday in Cleveland.

The wind was blowing in at Wrigley today, but Lodolo really didn’t need it while allowing just three hard-hit balls on the day. He struck out five and lowered his ERA to 3.10. Next up for him is a start Friday against the Diamondbacks.

He also struck out six and walked two on the day while registering a 20 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. Lodolo’s secondaries carried him on a day when he got just one whiff on his four-seam fastball despite throwing 1.1 mph harder than he has all season. Lodolo will now carry a 3.39 ERA into a start in Wrigley Field against the Cubs next week.

Lodolo gave up six balls hit at least 105 mph, including a 400-foot fly from Joey Bart, but they produced a total of five total bases (two doubles, one single). It’s Lodolo’s sixth quality start, and he improved to 4-4 with a 3.22 ERA. He’ll face the Cubs next weekend.

Lodolo allowed five hits and didn’t issue a walk. He gave up sac fly in the first and a run-scoring triple to Michael Harris II, but outside of that it was smooth sailing for the southpaw. It’s a nice bounceback from Saturday’s struggles against the Nats (5 1/3 innings, 10 hits, six earned runs), and more in line with how he’s pitched for the majority of the 2025 campaign. Lodolo has a great chance of lowering his already-solid 3.23 ERA against the White Sox next week.

It was three runs through five, but since his pitch count was still in decent shape, manager Terry Francona sent him back out to face the top of the order for a fourth time in the sixth and kept him in even after he gave up a three-run homer to Amed Rosario. It was pretty obviously a bad call in a winnable game for the Reds; they were tied 3-3 after five before losing 11-6. Lodolo dropped to 3-3 with a 3.27 ERA ahead of a start in Atlanta next week.

Lodolo had a no-hitter going until Jordan Beck was credited with an infield single in the bottom of the sixth. Elly De La Cruz made the tough play initially, but his throw pulled Spencer Steer off the bag. The other hit in the seventh was a roller down the third base line that Noelvi Marte hoped would go foul but wound up hitting the bag. The Reds probably didn’t mind, though, as they weren’t going to want Lodolo throwing the 110+ pitches it likely would have taken to complete a no-hitter. He struck out nine and walked one on the day. Lodolo is 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA, and he should remain one of the NL’s top lefties for as long as his body holds up. He’ll face the Nationals next.

Lodolo gave up seven hits, including a third-inning solo shot to Eric Wagaman, but managed to avoid letting things spiral out of control. He finished with four strikeouts and only issued a pair of walks. The 27-year-old southpaw generated 11 swinging strikes, including seven on his curveball, and finished with a respectable 28 percent CSW. He’ll bring a strong 2.79 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 18/4 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (five starts) into a challenging road matchup on Sunday against the Rockies at high-octane Coors Field.
