After a terrific minor league campaign in 2024, León was limited to just 25 minor league contests in 2025 due to injury. In his limited time, he slashed .253/.314/.505 with six homers and 15 RBI in only 106 plate appearances. With a strong showing in the spring, he could compete for a reserve spot on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster.

León was claimed off waivers earlier this month from the Astros and simply gets caught up in a roster crunch with Baltimore needing to guard a couple prospects from next month’s Rule 5 Draft. Vázquez batted .160 (8-for-50) in 32 games for the Orioles this past season in a reserve infielder role.
