The one hiccup could be weather, which may prevent Langford from getting the live at-bats on a rehab assignment that the Rangers are hoping for. MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry reports that “There are a number of options to work through for him to get live at-bats,” if the weather doesn’t comply, and “the weekend remains the target date.”

The move is now official. Langford told reporters he’s been diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right forearm and anticipates being ready to return when first eligible to be activated in early May. The 24-year-old suffered the injury on an awkward swing during Tuesday’s game against the Pirates. Ezequiel Duran will see the bulk of the opportunities in left field during his absence.

Technically, the move isn’t official, but Langford told reporters he’s headed to the shelf after undergoing an MRI that revealed the forearm strain. The 24-year-old outfielder was lifted from Tuesday’s game against the Pirates with forearm tightness. He told reporters that he only expects to miss 10 days. We’ll see. Alejandro Osuna is coming up from Triple-A Round Rock to take his roster spot with Ezequiel Duran likely to see more time in left field during his absence.

There’s been no indication that Langford is heading to the injured list following an early exit from Tuesday’s game with right forearm tightness. The 24-year-old fantasy superstar dealt with a quad issue earlier this season that caused him to miss a couple games. There should be some clarity on his status once the Rangers get his MRI results back and determine whether he needs a trip to the injured list. Ezequiel Duran takes over in left field on Wednesday night.

Langford was replaced in left field by Ezequiel Duran after going 0-for-1 with a walk and his third stolen base of the season. It’s worth noting that the issue isn’t related to the minor quad issue that caused him to miss three games earlier this month. There should be an update on his status shortly.

Langford and Seager have swapped lineup spots for the first time this season as the Rangers will go with back-to-back lefty batters at the top of their lineup against Athletics starter J.T. Ginn. It’s an interesting wrinkle they could employ against teams that don’t have an elite left-handed weapon in their bullpen throughout the year.

Langford returned to the lineup on Tuesday after missing the previous three games nursing a quad injury. Left-hander on the mound in a hitter’s ballpark didn’t help him get going with a 0-for-3 day at the plate. A .195 BABIP and a 24.1 percent strikeout rate suggest the hits will eventually fall.

Langford remains on the bench for the third consecutive game since being diagnosed with a minor right quad strain that he suffered last Friday against the Dodgers. The encouraging news for fantasy managers is that he’s managed to avoid a trip to the injured list, which seems to indicate there’s a possibility he’s ready to return at some point later this week. Ezequiel Duran will patrol left field out in West Sacramento on Monday night.

Langford left Friday’s bout against the Dodgers with tightness in his quad, and imaging revealed the strain. The 24-year-old will be out of the lineup for the next couple of days — per Langford himself — but he doesn’t believe that he’ll need a trip to the injured list. It’s disappointing for the short-term, but for now, it’s positive news that he’s avoided a significant injury.

Langford will undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury, and whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list, after making an early exit from Friday’s slugfest against the Dodgers. The 24-year-old fantasy standout took hard-throwing Tyler Glasnow deep in the fifth inning for his first round-tripper of the season prior to departing. He expressed optimism while speaking to reporters following the contest, saying that he believes the issue to be minor. There should be a definitive update on his status at some point this weekend.

It looked like Langford may have suffered the injury — or at least tweaked it — while rounding the bases after smacking a solo homer off of Tyler Glasnow in the fifth inning. He’ll head for further evaluation. Be sure to check back on Saturday as the Rangers should have a full update on his status.

It could have been an even better day, as Langford had 109- and 108-mph lineouts to the outfield. His two knocks weren’t hit quite as well, but they were placed perfectly into the right-center gap. On the first one, Noelvi Marte had his feet go out from under him on the warning track after running down the ball, giving Langford an extra base for the triple. The second just eluded the glove of a diving Dane Myers Langford is now at .188/.188/.344 in 32 plate appearances.

Langford reached on a single off of J.T. Ginn in the opening inning, but was cut down attempting to stretch it into a double. He then capped off the Rangers’ six-run uprising in the second inning with a 424-foot (111.7 mph EV) three-run blast off of Ryan Magdic. The 24-year-old outfielder has been sizzling at the plate this spring, hitting .455 (10-for-22) with three homers, 10 RBI and a 3/2 K/BB ratio in 24 plate appearances.

The dynamic 24-year-old outfielder got the scoring started in the slugfest with an RBI single off of Cole Ragans in the top half of the first inning. Langford then tagged Ragans for a 436-foot (106.2 mph EV) two-run shot in the second that pulled the Rangers to within a run at 7-6. He also drew a walk in the third inning before being lifted for a pinch runner. For the spring, Langford is slashing a healthy .500/.583/1.100 with a pair of homers, seven RBI and a 0/2 K/BB ratio in his first 12 plate appearances.

Langford connected on a 95.8 mph heater from Guardians starter Slade Cecconi, tattooing a majestic 421-foot moonshot to right-center field for his first round-tripper of the spring. The 24-year-old fantasy standout possesses the power/speed combination to deliver first-round caliber value, but injuries have limited him to just 134 contests each of the past two seasons. It’s challenging to forecast a full season given his recent history, but he could easily record a 30-homer, 30-steal campaign with a clean bill of health.

Langford smacked a run-scoring single in his first at-bat of the content before adding another single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old outfielder offers realistic 25-homer, 20-steal production and will be a third or fourth-round pick in fantasy drafts this spring.

There’s little doubt the Rangers will go with an outfield of Langford, Brandon Nimmo and Evan Carter against righties (with Carter perhaps sitting against lefties), but the alignment is in question, what with both Langford and Nimmo being best suited for left. The Rangers might feel that Langford in center and Carter in right would be their best alignment, even though Carter would seem to be the stronger center fielder of the two.

Langford’s season is officially over following an early exit from Tuesday’s game against the Twins with left side tightness. The 23-year-old power/speed combo outfielder battled oblique issues throughout the season, which ended up requiring three separate trips to the injured list. He wraps up his first 20-homer, 20-steal campaign with a solid .241/.344/.431 triple-slash line with 73 runs scored, 22 homers, 62 RBI and 22 stolen bases across 134 games. He’ll be an early-round selection in fantasy drafts next spring.

Langford has been battling a lingering side issue recently so it’s not a complete surprise that the issue cropped up again. The 23-year-old franchise building block was 0-for-2 before exiting the contest in the fifth inning. He’ll presumably undergo further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. It wouldn’t be surprising if he were shut down for the final few games with the Rangers no longer truly in playoff contention.

Langford’s home run was his 22nd of the year, as was his stolen base. The 23-year-old outfielder hit a solo shot off Lake Bachar in the sixth inning. Langford looked healthy after missing two games with a side issue. Seemingly the only thing preventing him from future stardom are the nagging injuries.

It’s an extremely encouraging development for fantasy managers heading into the final week of the regular season to see Langford back following a two-game absence due to left side tightness. The 23-year-old power/speed combo outfielder’s status should continue to be closely monitored since side issues can be tricky and recurring matters, but it sounds like he’ll manage to avoid a trip to the injured list.

With their playoff hopes evaporating almost completely earlier this week, the Rangers aren’t going to take any chances with one of the key components of their young nucleus. The 23-year-old fantasy standout was held out of Friday’s lineup with left side tightness and has required two separate trips to the injured list this season due to oblique issues. There should be some additional clarity on his status before the weekend wraps up.

It’s a concerning development since Langford has required two separate injured list stints this season due to oblique issues. With Texas’ playoff hopes fading it seems highly unlikely they’ll take any chances with the long-term health of one of their core building blocks. There should be some additional clarity on his status at some point this weekend.

Langford doubled in the eighth inning and scored the Rangers’ first run on a sacrifice fly by Joc Pederson. He then gave Texas the lead with a base hit in the ninth for what would be the game-winning run. The 23-year-old outfielder is slashing .244/.342/.435 with 21 homers, 72 runs scored, 61 RBI, and 19 steals across 549 plate appearances.

Langford’s homer in the sixth was a 112-mph laser beam with just a 19-degree launch angle. Three innings prior, he had another deep shot that would have been a homer in 16 ballparks but was just a flyout tonight. Langford has two homers and four RBI in his last three games.
