Condon has made up for lost development time with a scorching run in Arizona, batting .356 (26-for-73) with four extra-base hits and nearly as many walks (11) as strikeouts (14) through 19 games. The 22-year-old slugger — the third overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft — possesses enough over-the-fence power to project as an immediate fantasy contributor once he reaches Coors Field. He profiles as a top-60 dynasty prospect entering next season.

Confon is batting .341/.420/.477 in 50 plate appearances while playing exclusively first base thus far in the AFL. Odds are that he’ll get a look in the majors there at some point during 2026, though he’ll probably spend at least the first couple of months in the minors.

Condon was the third overall pick in the 2024 draft and had a solid first professional season, hitting .268/.376/.444 with 14 home runs in 99 games split between High-A and Double-A. He struggled a bit to end the year in Double-A and hit just .235 with 67 strikeouts in 55 games; however, he did have 11 home runs in those 55 games, and the power is very real. The 22-year-old is just 5-for-21 in his first five AFL games, but he has one triple, one home run, and eight RBI, so that kind of raw power playing in Coors Field is appealing.

Morton was greeted by his family as he walked off the field in Atlanta. The 41-year-old was making his first appearance since the Braves picked him up for a third career stint with the team. He debuted with Atlanta in 2008 before being traded to the Pirates for Nate McLouth in 2009. He rejoined the Braves in 2021 and went 45-34 with a 3.87 ERA in four seasons before signing with the Orioles last winter. He finishes his career 147-134 with a 4.13 ERA. He had his best season in 2019, going 16-6 with a 3.05 ERA for the Rays and finishing third in the AL Cy Young balloting. He was 7-5 with a 3.60 ERA in the postseason, winning championships with the Astros in 2017 and the Braves in 2021.

Morton’s final appearance will come in relief. The 41-year-old signed a one-year deal Monday after being released by the Tigers, and he’ll reportedly retire after 18 seasons in the majors; five of those with Atlanta.

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker announced the move prior to Monday’s series opener against the Nationals. While it’s possible Morton pitches again during the final week, this transaction suggests the 41-year-old veteran hurler may be ready to retire after 18 big-league seasons. Morton spent five years with Atlanta from 2021-24, helping them capture the 2021 World Series. He was released over the weekend by the free-falling Tigers after posting a 7.09 ERA across nine starts.

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker announced the move prior to Monday’s series opener against the Nationals. It’s theoretically possible Morton pitches for the club at some point during the final week of the regular season, but this move seems to hint at the possibility that the 41-year-old hurler is planning to retire with the club at the end of the year after 18 seasons in the big leagues. He spent a half-decade with Atlanta from 2021-2024 and was part of their 2021 World Series title roster. He was cut loose over the weekend by the free-falling Tigers after posting a bloated 7.09 ERA across nine starts with the club.

Morton has been booted from Detroit’s pitching plans amid their stunning late-season collapse following an abysmal outing on Friday night against Atlanta where he was lit up for six runs over 1 1/3 innings. This might be it for the 41-year-old veteran, who figures to pass through waivers unclaimed, and won’t be part of the Tigers’ postseason pitching plans — if they manage to hold onto a playoff berth.

Morton also issued a pair of walks in the ballgame while striking out a pair of batters. The Braves got to him for three runs in the opening inning as Morton walked Drake Baldwin with the bases loaded and allowed a two-run single to Ozzie Albies. They piled on with three more in the second — including a two-run blast by Ronald Acuna Jr. — before Morton was mercifully removed. The 41-year-old hurler got six whiffs on 45 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. After this debacle, there’s no guarantee he sticks around in the Tigers’ rotation to start on Wednesday against the Guardians. He now holds a brutal 5.89 ERA over 140 2/3 innings on the season.

Morton gave up a run on a double and a base hit in the first inning. The Marlins brought another run in on a walk and a double in the second. Morton gave the Tigers two more scoreless innings before ending his day with four strikeouts over four innings at 76 pitches. The 41-year-old right-hander holds a 5.56 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 146/69 K/BB ratio across 139 1/3 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Braves in Detroit on Friday.

The 41-year-old hurler also issued three walks on the day while recording only two strikeouts. The White Sox got to him for a pair of runs in the opening inning on a two-run double by Andrew Benintendi. He then served up a solo homer to Lenyn Sosa in the third inning. Morton got seven swings and misses on 72 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 25 percent. He now sports a troublesome 6.09 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 41/17 K/BB ratio over 34 innings in seven starts since joining the Tigers. He would line up to take on the Marlins in Miami his next time out on Saturday provided a change to the rotation doesn’t happen after another rough outing.

Morton allowed baserunners galore, including five hits, four walks, and a hit-by-pitch. The veteran craftsman managed to avoid major damage until he served up a grand slam to Juan Soto in the fourth inning. Morton has allowed 11 runs over his last two starts after some initial success as a Tiger.

Morton put the Tigers behind early as he surrendered a three-run homer to Jacob Wilson in the first inning. Three straight singles and a groundout to start the third inning brought two more runs in to score for the A’s. Morton gave the Tigers two more innings before ending his day with seven strikeouts over five frames. The 41-year-old right-hander will take a 5.25 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 137/58 K/BB ratio across 128 2/3 innings into a start against the Mets in Detroit on Monday.

Condon was the most exciting dynasty prospect coming out of last year’s MLB Draft when he was selected third-overall by the Rockies following a standout collegiate career at Georgia. The 22-year-old power-hitting prospect has struck out more than anticipated and missed time due to injury over the last year, but he’s finally starting to make some real noise. The combination of his stratospheric raw power and hitter-friendly Coors Field is going give him some tangible fantasy appeal once he arrives. He’s going to need some additional seasoning in the upper minors, but he’s on track to make it to Colorado at some point next season.

Morton got 13 missed swings, 10 of which were produced by his curveball. One of those came on a wild hack from Jesus Sánchez on a pitch that ended up hitting him on the back leg. Since opening up 0-7, Morton has gone 9-3 with a 3.81 ERA and a 90/32 K/BB in 82 2/3 innings over 15 starts. He’ll face the A’s next week.

The 41-year-old right-hander struck out five batters on the evening. Despite the limited traffic on the bases, Morton had to work his way out of two jams with runners at third base and less than two outs — and both times escaped unscathed. He got 12 swings and misses on 98 pitches on the night — seven of them on his curveball — while registering a CSW of 30 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine effort as he brings a 5.20 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 122/53 K/BB ratio (117 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Astros.

Morton gave up one run in the first inning on a base hit and a double. He proceeded to strike out the following seven batters before running into trouble in third. A single and a hit batter put two runners on for Jo Adell, who took Morton deep for a three-run blast. Morton would give up two more runs in the fifth on a home run by Taylor Ward. That would do it for the 41-year-old right-hander. He struck out ten. Morton will take a 5.48 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 117/50 K/BB ratio across 111 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in Minnesota on Thursday.

The 41-year-old right-hander piled up six strikeouts on the evening while allowing only one base on balls. The lone tally against him came on an RBI ground out off the bat of Max Kepler in the second inning. That was enough to doom him as the Tigers couldn’t scratch out a single run against Cristopher Sanchez. Morton generated 15 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the evening — six on his heater and five on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 21 percent. He’ll hope for more run support as he brings a 5.20 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and a 107/49 K/BB ratio (107 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Angels.

The Tigers will be putting Troy Melton in the bullpen after adding Morton and Chris Paddack this week. Morton might offer some mixed-league value in a better situation for pitchers in Detroit, but a road start against the Phillies seems like a bad matchup for him.

The Tigers went into the trade deadline needing to upgrade their rotation depth and while they didn’t shop at the high end, they did pick up a pair of quality arms in Morton and Chris Paddack. The 41-year-old hurler has registered a 5.42 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 101/48 K/BB ratio over 101 1/3 innings in 23 appearances on the season. He’ll help to offset the loss of Reese Olson (shoulder).

The Tigers were active on the trade front in the days leading up to the deadline, despite not shopping in the upper-echelon bins. Morton, 41, holds a 5.42 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 101/48 K/BB ratio across 101 1/3 innings in 23 appearances (17 starts) on the season. He’ll eat valuable innings for the Tigers while bringing veteran guile and moxie into the clubhouse.

Morton allowed eight hits, walked three and struck out only two today, but after giving up three runs between the third and fourth, he managed to strand multiple runners in both the fifth and sixth. The win makes him 7-8 with a 5.42 ERA, though he’s been considerably better than that lately. Expectations are that this was his last start for the Orioles, but if not, he’ll get the Phillies next week.

Morton allowed two of his three runs on solo homers to Steven Kwan. The other came on a sac fly from Nolan Jones. He did walk four, but threw 74-of-107 pitches for strikes, which is a weird balance. The right-hander bounced back nicely from the seven-run outing he had Friday against the Rays, and he’s been a solid option for Baltimore after his disastrous first few turns through the rotation. It seems plausible that this was Morton’s last start as a member of the Orioles, but he is scheduled to face the Blue Jays on Tuesday for now.

Morton gave up eight hits, walked three and struck out four. The 41-year-old had allowed seven runs total over his last four starts, a span of 22 1/3 innings. While Morton had been looking much more effective lately, Friday’s start against the Rays was an unmitigated disaster. What follows is really anyone’s guess at this point. Morton is lined up for a plus matchup against the Guardians on the road next week.

Morton allowed just an RBI single in the fifth to Tyrone Taylor, but for a while it looked like that was going to be enough for him to be credited with a loss. Gunnar Henderson made sure that wouldn’t happen with a pinch-hit two-run blast in the eighth. After a disastrous beginning to the year, Morton has looked much more effective, and his 5.18 ERA heading into the break is a lot more palatable when you consider it was at 7.09 entering the month of June.

Morton gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven. It was a revenge game for Morton against his old team in Atlanta. He originally had his start moved to Friday due to low-grade elbow tendinitis. Morton has rebounded since being briefly removed from the rotation as he has a 2.97 ERA in 36 1/3 innings over his last seven starts. He’ll face the Mets at home next week.

Morton left down 3-0 before the Orioles’ comeback in the seventh. The runs came in the fourth and were all earned, though it would have been a scoreless frame on better defense. Gary Sánchez botched a play at home plate that could have been the first out, and then with runners and second and third, the Orioles got no outs on an easy grounder to Gunnar Henderson, who made an awful throw home on a fielder’s choice. Morton allowed just one hit outside of the fourth. He’ll almost certainly face the Rangers again next time out, but it could be at any point in next week’s series that runs from Monday to Wednesday.

The 41-year-old hurler allowed six hits on the night and didn’t walk a batter. The only blemish on his night came on an RBI single off the bat of Danny Jansen in the third inning. Morton generated 13 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the evening — six of those on his curveball which was a major weapon for him — while posting an elite CSW of 36 percent. With the victory, Morton improves to 4-7 on the season to go along with a 5.64 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and a 74/32 K/BB ratio over 67 innings through his first 17 appearances. He’ll try to keep the good times rolling when he squares off against the Rangers at home on Tuesday.

Morton has excelled in three out of four turns since rejoining the Orioles rotation, and while that doesn’t make him a great play in mixed leagues, it’s certainly a fun story. With tonight’s performance, he joined Steve Carlton, Roger Clemens, Rich Hill, Randy Johnson, Johnny Niggeling, Gaylord Perry, Nolan Ryan and Dazzy Vance as the only pitchers to have multiple 10-strikeout games after turning 41. Morton is slated to face the Rays next time out.
