We assume Myers will return as the primary center fielder, though he has some new competition there in the form of Victor Mesa Jr. Both should play plenty, though. Myers hit .337/.375/.482 in 29 games before going on the IL with an oblique strain, so he definitely deserves to be in the lineup as often as he can handle.

Curiously, the Marlins also have fellow outfielder Heriberto Hernandez joining the team. Myers can take Graham Pauley’s roster spot, but someone else will have to go (Matt Mervis?) if Hernandez is activated.

There might not be a spot for Myers in Miami’s crowded outfield mix with with prospect Victor Mesa Jr. ascending to the big leagues earlier this week. Yet, he’s close to making it back after hitting the shelf back in mid-May with a right oblique strain.

Myers laced a two-run double off of JP Sears in the fourth inning to tie the game at two apiece. Myers has been solid in limited duty this season and has been playing more with Jesus Sanchez sidelined, but he’d likely only have fantasy value if Sanchez were to go on the IL.

After Dustin May left the game, Myers came on to hit for Matt Mervis off southpaw Anthony Banda, and he slaughtered a ball over the center-field fence to turn a 5-1 deficit into a 5-5 game. He also singled, and he improved his slash to a strong — and totally unsustainable — .315/.327/.463. He does appear to see the ball pretty well against southpaws, however.

Myers pinch-hit for Kyle Stowers in the sixth and singled then. He later hit a three-run homer off Jordan Romano in the ninth. Myers, batting .324/.342/.459 in 38 plate appearances, is still only playing against left-handers right now, even though Derek Hill went on the injured list Thursday. That should change if Griffin Conine joins Hill on the injured list after hurting his shoulder today.

Myers hasn’t played since last Wednesday, but it appears likely he’ll return for Thursday’s series finale against Arizona.

Myers hasn’t appeared in a game since last Wednesday, but there’s been no indication that he’s headed to the injured list. It’ll be Jesús Sáncez in center field on Tuesday night in his return from the IL.

Myers hasn’t made an appearance for Miami since making a sublime game-ending catch to seal Wednesday’s victory over the division-rival Mets. It’s unclear whether he’s dealing with a specific injury concern, but it’s notable that he’s been left off the lineup card for three consecutive games. It’ll be Derek Hill in center field for Sunday’s game at loanDepot park.
