Moreno has been bitten by the injury bug in consecutive seasons, but he did take a clear step forward offensively by hitting .285/.353/.433 last year. He seems well on his way to establishing himself as a top-notch catcher if the durability is there.

Moreno led off the second inning with a single and scored the Diamondbacks first run on an RBI single off the bat of Blaze Alexander. He then delivered an RBI double off of Brayan Bello in the sixth inning that increased their lead to 3-1. With his two-hit attack, the 25-year-old backstop is now slashing .277/.331/.432 with seven homers, 32 RBI and one stolen base on the season.

The 25-year-old backstop got the Diamondbacks on the board and trimmed their deficit to three runs with a 406-foot (100.9 mph EV) three-run shot off of Brewers’ phenom Jacob Misiorowski in the fourth inning. He also singled in the eighth inning and scored the tying run on Geraldo Perdomo’s two-out RBI double. He’s having a very solid season at the plate for the D’Backs, slashing .279/.332/.447 with seven homers and 27 RBI in his first 205 plate appearances.

Welcome back. Moreno had been out since the middle of June with a hairline fracture in his right hand, and looked plenty healthy while taking Zack Littell deep. The 25-year-old has six homers on the season with a slash of .275/.328/.433. He should see time behind the plate and DH over the final 30-plus games of the year, and is worthy of fantasy consideration from those who need help behind the plate.

The 25-year-old backstop had been shelved since mid-June due to a hairline fracture in his right hand. He looked good on a recent minor league rehab assignment though and is ready to provide a boost to the Diamondbacks’ lineup. Jose Herrera was designated for assignment in a corresponding move on Friday.

Moreno has been out since mid-June recovering from a fractured right index finger. He’ll stabilize Arizona’s catching situation, but he’s been a significant disappointment from a pure fantasy perspective this season with a .738 OPS and five homers in 53 games.

Moreno, returning from a fractured finger, is 7-for-17 with four extra-base hits on his rehab assignment. He’ll probably be activated this weekend, at which point the D-backs will need to decide whether to expose Jose Herrera or James McCann to waivers.

Moreno will be joined by Pavin Smith (oblique) and Ildemaro Vargas (foot) as they also kick off rehab assignments early next week. The 25-year-old backstop has been out since mid-June recovering from a fractured right index finger. He’ll need some time to get back up to speed, but should make it back to Arizona by the late stages of August.

Lovullo added that Moreno’s recent CT scan showed the fracture in his right index finger hasn’t completely healed yet. The 25-year-old backstop figures to be cleared for baseball activities at some point in August. It doesn’t qualify as a setback, but it certainly pushes back his potential return timeline until the late stages of the season.

Nothing has changed with the 25-year-old backstop’s status — he’s still shelved with a hairline fracture in his right index finger — this was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster to accommodate their flurry of roster moves on Friday.

It’s apparently an issue that Moreno had been playing through for a while and was unaware of. Lovullo noted that while they don’t have a clear timetable for the 25-year-old backstop’s return, it will be measured in weeks instead of days. Jose Herrera will continue to handle the bulk of the work behind the plate while Moreno is sidelined.

Moreno has missed the last few days with his hand bruise, and the Diamondbacks will now give the backstop a chance to get better while not hamstringing their roster. Assuming there’s no structural damage Moreno could be back in a week, but for now, Jose Herrera will be Arizona’s everyday backstop with Aramis Garcia up from Reno to help handle catching duties.

Moreno was scratched Tuesday from the lineup because of soreness in his right hand, and it’ll keep him out Wednesday. Jose Herrera is in the lineup behind the plate and will hit ninth. Moreno remains day-to-day.

Moreno has been battling a right hand issue since taking a wild pitch off it back on June 6. It sounds like a precautionary decision to keep him on the bench. Jose Herrera will take over behind the plate during Tuesday’s series opener in Toronto. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Moreno’s only hit of the game brought three runs in as he took Trent Thornton deep in the sixth inning. It was the fifth home run of the season for Moreno, tying his total from last season in half the plate appearances. The 25-year-old backstop has hit the ball hard with more consistency this year, significantly raising his hard-hit rate. Moreno is slashing .277/.333/.428 with the five homers, 28 runs scored and 20 RBI across 180 plate appearances.

Moreno will sit out his third straight contest after taking a wild pitch off his right hand during Friday’s showdown against the Reds. The 25-year-old backstop remains day-to-day for now. It’s at least a positive sign that he hasn’t been placed on the injured list. It’ll be Jose Herrera handling the catching duties on Monday night in his absence.

Moreno is getting some extra time off to rest and recover after suffering a right hand contusion during Friday’s contest. It’s an encouraging sign heading into next week that Arizona has removed emergency catcher Aramis Garcia from the active roster already. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Jose Herrera handling the catching duties on Sunday afternoon in his place.

It’s a positive development for the Diamondbacks as losing Moreno for an extended period would’ve put some strain on their catching situation. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo told reporters postgame that Moreno’s removal was for precautionary reasons due to swelling that occurred after he was struck by a wild pitch in his throwing hand. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Moreno couldn’t get his throwing hand out of the way of an errant pitch and was unable to grip the baseball so he had to be lifted from the ballgame. Anticipate that he’ll head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. Look for the Diamondbacks to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available.

Moreno smacked a two-out RBI single off of Spencer Strider in the second inning that extended the Diamondbacks’ early edge to 2-0. He then singled and rode home on Corbin Carroll’s three-run blast in the ninth inning. With the two-hit attack, the 25-year-old backstop is now slashing a solid .282/.341/.423 to go along with just four homers, 17 RBI and one stolen base through his first 48 games.

Moreno singled twice and doubled for his second three-hit game in the month of May. The 25-year-old has been solid over that time period with a .303 average and .889 OPS, and he’s now slashing a solid — if unspectacular — .277/.338/.411 over his 141 at-bats.

With the Diamondbacks down 1-0 in the top of the ninth, Moreno tied things up with a solo homer off Tanner Scott. It was his third home run of the season, all against the Dodgers. All three homers have come in May while he’s hit .320 in the month. The 25-year-old backstop is hitting .266/.336/.387 with 22 runs scored and 13 RBI across 137 plate appearances on the season.

Moreno opened the scoring in a big way with a bases-loaded roundtripper off Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The 25-year-old missed one game and came off the bench in another earlier this week with side discomfort, but looked plenty comfortable while having easily his best offensive game of the 2025 season. Moreno was awful in April, and fantasy managers can hope this is the start of the backstop playing up to his abilities.

Moreno came off the bench during Wednesday’s game against the Mets, so it’s no surprise to see him back behind the dish for Thursday’s series opener. The 25-year-old backstop will bat sixth against Dodgers’ right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Moreno came off the bench to take over behind the plate after Jose Herrera was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the late stages of the contest. He went hitless in his lone at-bat. The 25-year-old has been held out of the lineup for two straight games due to left side soreness.
