Mercifully, Márquez’s season is over. If only we could say the same for the Rockies. The right-hander finishes 2025 with an ugly — and deserved — 3-16 record with an ERA of 6.70. Some of this can be blamed on Coors Field. Much of it cannot. The Rockies can buy Márquez out of his contract for $2.5 million next year. It seems awfully likely. The question will be how many teams have even a semblance of interest in seeing if he can have success away from Colorado.

The 30-year-old right-hander punched out five batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball with Taylor Ward swatting a solo homer in the second inning and Nolan Schanuel adding one of his own in the sixth. Márquez got 10 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the evening, registering a CSW of 32 percent. He’ll try to finish his 2025 season on a high note as he lugs a troublesome 6.49 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 82/45 K/BB ratio (122 innings) into Friday’s divisional showdown against the Giants in San Francisco.

Márquez dropped to 3-14 with a 6.65 ERA. He’s 2-6 with a 6.82 ERA on the road, so he can’t even blame Coors Field. The Rockies will probably still have some interest in bringing him back next year, but if he wants to revive his career, he’d probably be better off elsewhere, even if he might have to settle for a minor league contract.

Márquez gave up a run in the second inning on a double and a wild pitch. Mookie Betts then took him deep for a two-run blast in the third. Teoscar Hernández added a solo blast in the fourth before the Dodgers brought another run in to score on two hits in the fifth. Márquez would be done after five inning. He struck out two. The 30-year-old right-hander ends the day with a bloated 6.31 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, and a 77/42 K/BB ratio across 112 2/3 innings. He’ll face the Padres in San Diego on Sunday.

Márquez was making his return to the rotation after missing five weeks with inflammation in his biceps. It went exactly as expected. His ERA is now 6.14, and his record is an ever-so-deserved 3-12. Congrats to the Giants, as they win the honor of getting to face him Wednesday.

The 30-year-old right-hander will make his triumphant return to the Rockies’ rotation on Friday evening against the Cubs. Márquez had been sidelined since just after the All-Star break due to right biceps tendon inflammation. He’s not a recommended streaming option against the Cubs on Friday evening at Coors Field.

The run came on Jacob Wilson’s homer in the third. Márquez was making his first rehab start since going on the IL with biceps inflammation last month. He’ll probably need at least one more appearance before returning to the Colorado rotation.

Márquez is making his way back from right biceps tendon inflammation that put him on the injured list back in late July. The 30-year-old impending free agent offers extremely limited appeal for fantasy purposes, but he’ll provide a lift for the Rockies abysmal rotation down the home stretch.

Márquez is going to miss at least a couple of weeks after an MRI revealed the inflammation in his right shoulder. Tanner Gordon will take his spot in the rotation. It’s impossible to imagine Márquez will have fantasy significance when he returns at some point before the conclusion of 2025.

Márquez underwent an MRI this week that revealed the severity of the injury following an abbreviated start on Sunday against the Twins where he experienced shoulder soreness. The positive news is that imaging didn’t reveal any structural damage. However, it still figures to be a multi-week absence for the 30-year-old impending free agent. It’ll be Tanner Gordon coming up to take his rotation spot and start on Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Márquez is officially questionable to make his next start on Saturday against the Orioles at Camden Yards with right shoulder inflammation. The 30-year-old impending free agent experienced diminished velocity and threw only 58 pitches before being pulled from Sunday’s outing after just three innings. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week.

No reason for his exit was reported, but Márquez’s velocity was off by two mph today and he was pulled after just 58 pitches, suggesting that something was wrong. He’s been mentioned as a trade candidate in spite of his 3-11 record and 5.67 ERA, but any sort of injury would probably take that off the table.

Is road-Márquez back? He’s allowed three or fewer runs in six straight starts away from Coors Field. In this start, his knuckle-curve was dominant forcing seven swings-and-misses and very little hard contact while corking as his primary pitch. He was especially good at spotting it right on the low-and-away corner against right-handed batters. We’re not ready to trust yet, but certainly noticing.

Oh, right. That Germán Márquez. After pitching solidly in his last four starts, Márquez was awful against Chicago, and he’s now 3-10 on the season with an abhorrent 5.84 ERA to go with that record. He should be nowhere near fantasy lineups when he faces the Reds in Cincinnati on Friday.

The 30-year-old right-hander struck out five batters on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. He kept the Brewers off the board completely through the first five innings, where he was locked in a scoreless pitcher’s duel with Brewers right-hander Chad Patrick. He served up a pair of solo homers to Sal Frelick and Christian Yelich in the sixth, chasing him from the game. Márquez got seven whiffs on 103 pitches on the day, registering a CSW of 21 percent. He’ll carry an uninspiring 5.62 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and a 61/27 K/BB ratio (83 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the White Sox.

Marquez got through three scoreless innings before unraveling in the fourth. After the leadoff man reached on an error, the Dodgers brought six runs in to score, including three on a home run by Michael Conforto. Márquez appeared to roll his ankle on a play but remained in to finish the inning. He was replaced in the fifth by Ryan Rolison at 68 pitches. The 30-year-old right-hander has posted a 6.26 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and a 56/24 K/BB ratio across 77 2/3 innings. Assuming he’s good to go for his next start, he’ll take on the Brewers in Milwaukee on Sunday.

Results wise, this felt like vintage, 2018 Márquez when he was a must-start pitcher outside of Coors Field. Yet, he forced just four total swings-and-misses and was mostly just fortunate to face a Nationals club that’s quickly approaching rock-bottom. He’s scheduled for probably the worst matchup a pitcher can have next time out with the Dodgers coming to Coors Field.

The Rockies were actually up by three runs when Márquez left tonight, only to end up losing 12-4. Márquez now has a 3.54 ERA and a 27/6 K/BB over 28 innings in his last two starts. If he can maintain this, contenders will be after him at the deadline. He’ll face the Nationals next.

Márquez is now 2-8 on the season and has an ERA of exactly 7.00. He’s not a good pitcher, and he pitches for the worst team in baseball. Atlanta gets the pleasure of facing him next weekend.

Carson Palmquist is healthy, but the Rockies are going to shake things up this weekend ahead of Monday’s off-day. Márquez was originally slated to start on Sunday. It’ll be top prospect Chase Dollander taking the ball for Sunday’s series final at Coors Field instead of Tuesday’s series opener against the Giants. There’s very little fantasy fallout from the move besides Dollander ending up with a much tougher matchup and eliminating a potential two-start week for managers in deeper mixed leagues.

Márquez served up nine hits, including six doubles, but managed to keep the ball in the yard and avoid a potential meltdown. He struck out six and only issued a pair of walks. The 30-year-old righty is still prone to the occasional implosion, with Coors Field only amplifying the risk factor there, but he’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in four of his past six starts since May 4. He’ll bring an underwhelming 6.98 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 38/21 K/BB ratio across 58 innings (12 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Mets.

The 30-year-old right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the night while allowing only one walk. The Cubs grinded out a pair of runs against him in the third inning on an RBI single by Seiya Suzuki and a fielder’s choice by Pete Crow-Armstrong, but aside from that Márquez was able to keep the Cubs’ offense in check. He got 13 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll see if he can run his quality start streak to three games as he brings an unsightly 7.13 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and a 32/19 K/BB ratio (53 innings) into Monday’s matchup against the Marlins in Miami where he may actually make for a viable streaming option in deeper leagues.

Never in the history of baseball has a starter been less deserving of a no-decision. Ok that’s not true, but Márquez was awful once again, and needed his offense to bail him out to prevent him from falling to 0-7 on the season. Bailed out seems like an understatement. There was a time that Márquez was a pretty solid option for fantasy players even with his home park being Coors Field. That time is not now. The Phillies get the pleasure of facing him next week.

Márquez was 0-6 with a 9.90 ERA before turning back the clock today. He finished with just two strikeouts and five whiffs, but the Padres managed only three hits off him. It’s probably not a performance he’s going to repeat going forward. He’ll face the Diamondbacks next.

It’s the fourth straight start in which Márquez has had more runs allowed than innings pitched. He’s now 0-6 with a 9.90 ERA, and though the Rockies certainly won’t want to make a move here, they might have no choice at some point. Márquez is due to make his next start at home against the Padres.

Márquez reached 1,000 career strikeouts today, but that was the lone highlight for the 30-year-old. He has a 9.30 ERA through five starts, only one of which has come at Coors Field. The Rockies will surely stick with him, though. He’ll make his next start at home against the Braves.

Márquez was handed a 1-0 lead going into his first and final inning, and it lasted just four pitches before Shohei Ohtani smashed a solo homer. He gave up another homer two batters later to Freddie Freeman, and the 30-year-old allowed four more hits and the same amount of runs before exiting. It’s hard to imagine that anyone used Márquez that didn’t have to Wednesday, but for those who did: whoops. He’ll be on the mound next week against the Royals and look to lower an unsightly 8.27 ERA.

Márquez has struggled over his last two starts, allowing nine runs over 9 2/3 innings and picking up losses in both. The right-hander was at least able to find the strike zone after throwing just 48-of-89 pitches for strikes against Oakland last Saturday, but that didn’t make him anymore effective. The 30-year-old should not even be close a fantasy lineup when he faces the Dodgers next week. Yikes.
