Misiorowski delivered an electric postseason performance, setting a Brewers franchise record with nine punchouts while retiring 15 of the 19 batters he faced in a dazzling bulk relief outing. He was summoned in the opening frame after lefty Aaron Ashby gave up an early run and whiffed both Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernández to prevent any further damage. The 23-year-old strikeout artist traded zeroes with fellow towering flamethrower Tyler Glasnow into the middle innings with both hurlers benefitted greatly from the late-afternoon shadows at Dodger Stadium. Things finally unraveled in the sixth when the rookie seemed to hit the metaphorical wall, surrendering a go-ahead single to Tommy Edman following a leadoff single by Will Smith and a walk to ensuing batter Freddie Freeman. Misiorowski figures to be available later in the series for an all-hands-on-deck situation if the Brewers can somehow send the series back to Milwaukee.

It was initially thought that veteran lefty Jose Quintana would make a bulk relief appearance on Thursday night in Los Angeles, but it seems the Brewers want to save him for a critical Game 4 showdown instead. Misiorowski, who will follow lefty opener Aaron Ashby in this one, allowed one run over four innings to pick up the win in last weekend’s NLDS-clinching Game 5 win over the Cubs. The hard-throwing 23-year-old rookie righty holds a pristine 1.29 ERA over seven innings across two appearances this postseason. It’s a small sample size, but the results back up the belief many held that he would be a dominant bullpen arm if he ever made the switch to a full-time relief role.

It didn’t seem like Misiorowski would have this kind of night when he came out with less velocity than in Game 2 and gave up a homer to the very first batter he faced in Seiya Suzuki. However, he had both of his breaking balls working and ended up throwing just 17 fastballs over his 54 pitches. He’ll again be a big part of the Brewers’ plan of attack in the NLCS, even if he continues to work in relief.

Neither team is ready to name a starter for the win-or-go-home contest. It seems awfully likely that the Brewers will pitch Jacob Misiorowski at some point, but it’ll likely be behind an opener. The right-hander topped out at 104.3 mph while compiling a 35 percent CSW in Game 2.

The Brewers used eight pitchers tonight, with only Misiorowski, the third man in, completing two innings. Misiorowski averaged 101.5 mph with his 35 fastballs, topping out at 104.3 mph, and finished up with a nice 35% CSW. One imagines he’ll be a factor again in Game 5 if the series goes the distance.

Misiorowski’s role heading into the postseason remains a bit unclear following his late-season struggles. However, the hard-throwing 23-year-old and fellow former top prospect Robert Gasser are expected to factor greatly into Milwaukee’s pitching plans with veteran Brandon Woodruff (lat) out of the mix. Jose Quintana, Quinn Priester and Chad Patrick are also on the roster as starting options in the best-of-five series against the division-rival Cubs. The other notable development is Andrew Vaughn getting the nod with Rhys Hoskins being left off the roster entirely.

“It’s obvious that that right now he’s not on track as a starter, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be,” said Murphy after Misiorowski lasted just 3 2/3 innings on Friday in a loss to the Cardinals. “He certainly will be in the future.” The 23-year-old rookie makes a ton of sense for Milwaukee as a flame-throwing multi-inning relief weapon, especially with closer Trevor Megill working his way back from a flexor strain. The hard-throwing phenom has struggled his last couple times out and has worked beyond the fifth just once in his previous five starts since August 26.

The rookie right-hander also walked three batters on the night while striking out three. Despite the ample traffic on the bases against him, the Cardinals were only able to scratch out single runs in each of the first two frames. Misiorowski got 12 swings and misses on 77 pitches on the evening — seven on his fastball which averaged 99.4 mph — while posting a CSW of 27 percent. The 23-year-old hurler now sits at 5-3 on the season with a 4.38 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and an 84/28 K/BB ratio across 63 2/3 innings. He’ll try to bounce back and finish the regular season on a high note when he squares off against the Padres in San Diego on Wednesday.

The rookie right-hander struck out four batters on the night while issuing one free pass. He had a hard time keeping the ball in the yard in this one, giving up a solo shot to Ivan Herrera in the opening inning and another to Brendan Donovan in the third. Misiorowski generated nine whiffs on 75 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He sits at 5-2 on the season with a 4.35 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and an 81/25 K/BB ratio across 60 innings of work. He’ll do battle against these same Cardinals his next time out in St. Louis on Friday.

Misiorowski gave up three hits, walked two and struck out eight. The 23-year-old right-hander has struck out at least eight batters in two of his last three starts. Misiorowski has a 4.09 ERA and 77/24 K/BB ratio in 55 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Cardinals at home next weekend.

Misiorowski allowed six hits — one of them a solo homer to Bryce Harper — and he walked one with four strikeouts. He generated 12 swings and misses in 73 pitches, but didn’t have his usual put-away stuff. Misiorowski will be back on the bump against the Pirates on Sunday.

The 23-year-old rookie right-hander allowed four hits and one walk on the night. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat from Gabriel Moreno in the fourth inning. Aside from that, he was terrific. Misiorowski exited with a 6-3 lead and in line for a victory but the Brewers’ bullpen couldn’t hang on for him. He got 19 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night — 13 of them on his fastball which averaged 99.0 mph — while posting an elite CSW of 37 percent. He’ll bring a 4.33 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 65/21 K/BB ratio (43 2/3 innings) into Sunday’s matchup against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Misiorowski walked three in a row to open the third, with the last of those being an 11-pitch battle against Matt Shaw. He then gave up a three-run double to Michael Busch. Aside from that, Misiorowski retired everyone he faced in his four innings, though since he was up to 78 pitches, he didn’t come back out for the fifth. It’s his second straight down start since coming off the injured list, but based on the way he threw for most of the game, it wasn’t an outing to be alarmed about. He’ll face Arizona next.

Misiorowski gave up four hits, walked three and struck out three. The 23-year-old, who was returning from a shin injury, was removed after 54 pitches during a seven-run second inning for the Reds. Misiorowski gave up five runs, though he wasn’t exactly hit hard as he didn’t allow an extra-base hit. He’ll face the Cubs on the road next week.

Misiorowski is active to make the start Friday against the Reds. The right-hander has been sensational and can miss bats with the best of them, but keep in mind this likely will be a shorter outing since Misiorowski didn’t complete a rehab assignment.

Well, there ya go. Misiorowski will make his return after being placed on the injured list with a tibia bruise near the start of August. The flame-throwing right-hander isn’t likely to work deep enough into the start to qualify for a decision, but he can obviously help fantasy managers with his ability to miss bats and limit the self-inflicted damage.

The 23-year-old right-hander was scheduled to throw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday. If all goes well there, it sounds like he’ll be cleared to make one minor league tune-up before rejoining the Brewers’ rotation next weekend.

The 23-year-old phenom threw three innings in a simulated game on Saturday that went well by all accounts. Arnold noted that they’ll continue to monitor him over the next couple of days before making a decision. The Brewers could opt to bring him right back, perhaps on a limited pitch count, or they could give him one start in the minor leagues before he returns to the club’s starting rotation.

A good sign that Misiorowski was able to face hitters and throw 60 pitches, for sure. The 23-year-old could have another sim game, or it’s possible the Brewers will have him make a rehab start. The next steps will likely be determined by how he feels in the coming days.

Misiorowski landed on the injured list over the weekend with a left shin contusion after being struck by a comebacker during his previous start. The 23-year-old strikeout machine is aiming to return in mid-August after only missing two starts.

It’s a significant loss for the Brewers — and fantasy managers — as Misiorowski has been outstanding since arriving in the big leagues back in mid-June with a sparkling 2.70 ERA and 47/14 K/BB ratio across 33 1/3 innings (seven starts). The hard-throwing 23-year-old rookie was slated to start Sunday’s series finale against the Nationals. He was hit on the left shin by a comebacker during the opening frame of Monday’s game against the Cubs, but still managed to complete four innings. There is no official return timeline yet, Misiorowski told reporters he only expects to miss two starts before returning in mid-August.

Since Misiorowski, who has been on a pitch count since the break, needed 80 pitches to get through four, the Brewers didn’t let him go for the win with a 4-3 lead. The workload monitoring is taking a heavy toll on his fantasy value of late, but there certainly isn’t any dropping him at this point. Hopefully, he’ll get to go five next time out, which will probably be Monday against the Braves.

Misiorowski was limited to 64 pitches in this one as he was pulled with two outs in the fourth but he made the most of his time on the mound. The talented 23-year-old right-hander held the Mariners off the board while scattering three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. Misiorowski will take a 2.45 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 40/12 K/BB ratio across 29 1/3 innings into a start against the Cubs in Milwaukee next Tuesday.

Misiorowski heads to Truist Park in Atlanta for the Midsummer Classic after just five starts in the majors. It’s the quickest-ever All-Star appearance breaking the mark set by Paul Skenes last year when he got the nod after 11 starts in the big leagues. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect — who is coming off a 12-strikeout gem earlier this week against the Dodgers — has performed like a future ace, recording a sparkling 2.81 ERA and 33/11 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings during that span. He’s certainly talented enough to warrant a spot, but his inclusion highlights the fact that very few starters seem to actually want to show up and pitch in the game itself. He’ll take over Cubs lefty Matthew Boyd’s spot on the National League’s roster.

Misiorowski allowed four hits on the night while allowing one base on balls. Things didn’t start out well for him as he served up a leadoff homer to Shohei Ohtani, but from that point on he was completely dialed in. He struck out each of the next five hitters that he faced and allowed just three hits and a walk the rest of the way. The 23-year-old right-hander generated a whopping 21 swings and misses on 91 pitches in the ballgame — nine on his fastball and eight on his curveball — while posting an elite CSW of 40 percent. He has been very impressive through his first five starts with the Brewers, going 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 33/11 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings.

It seemed like Misiorowski would just keep getting better and better after his first handful of major league starts. This game was a great reality check for us to temper our expectations of the rookie phenom. The Mets worked a two-out rally that led to all five of their runs where Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio worked tough walks off Misiorowski and then back-up catcher Hayden Senger hit a chopper off a 102 mph fastball that took a weird hop and turned into an infield single. Brandon Nimmo hit a grand slam in the next at-bat and then Francisco Lindor joined the party to go back-to-back with Nimmo. It was a combination of Misiorowski losing focus a bit along with some bad luck and an inkling of the command issues that plagued him a bit as a prospect. Again, it’s a good reminder that he is a human and not an unhittable pitching machine. He’s scheduled for his toughest test yet with a matchup against the Dodgers scheduled to come next.

That’s not terrible, but we don’t like the trend: Misiorowski has gone from allowing no hits in his debut to one last time out and two today. It’ll be panic time if he gives up three next week. In all seriousness, Misiorowski was again dominant, with the eight strikeouts topping his previous high by two. He was also quite efficient; because he was on four days’ rest, the Brewers had him on a pitch count today, making it questionable whether he’d be able to get through five. Fortunately, he needed only 74 pitches to do so. Misiorowski topped out at 102.4 mph and averaged 99.7 mph with his fastball. 10 of his 13 whiffs came on his 47 heaters. The Brewers are off tomorrow and Monday, so Misiorowski will have some extra rest before his next start, which will probably come Wednesday against the Mets.

He struck out six. It was unclear whether Misiorowski would come back out for the seventh at 80 pitches, particularly after a long top of the inning in which the Brewers scored five runs. He did return, but not for long. Misiorowski walked Byron Buxton on four pitches to start the frame and then gave up a homer to Matt Wallner. In spite of the sour ending, it was a remarkable outing for Misiorowski, who had pitched 11 hitless innings as a big leaguer before the homer. He hit 100 mph on 29 of his 41 fastballs, topping out at 102.1 mph. If left on four days’ rest, he’ll make his next start Wednesday against the Pirates. However, it seems more likely that he’ll face the Rockies at home on Friday.

Misiorowski was supposed to start the series finale on Thursday against the Cubs, but with Wednesday’s game rained out, Freddy Peralta will take the ball on Thursday instead. This is great news for fantasy managers who have Misiorowski on their teams. He should be used with relative confidence against the Twins.
