It was apparent that Meyers wasn’t going to be ready to return on Sunday so the Astros opted to put his roster spot to better use. It’s not the type of injury that should linger or impact his off-season routine at all. The 29-year-old finishes the 2025 campaign slashing .292/.354/.373 with just three homers, 24 RBI and 16 swipes in 381 plate appearances.

Meyers was a late scratch from Friday’s lineup due to soreness in his right calf and apparently it’s still bothering him on Saturday as well. Taylor Trammell will start in his place in left field and will bat ninth for the Astros on Saturday evening with Zach Cole sliding over to cover center field.

Meyers is 4-for-18 with five walks in six rehab games. He’s played center field four times and DH’d twice. The Astros might activate him in Jacob Melton’s spot this weekend.

Meyers has missed a month and a half with a calf strain suffered just prior to the All-Star break. He should return next week as the Astros’ regular center fielder, which could result in Jacob Melton heading back to Triple-A.

The Astros still want him to increase the intensity of his workout before he progresses to facing live pitching, so it still sounds like he has a bit of work to do before he returns. Meyers has been shelved since July 10 with the calf ailment.

There had been hope that Meyers would require only a minimum stint on the injured list and be ready to return coming out of the All-Star break, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case. If all goes well in his recovery and he avoids any setbacks, he could rejoin the Astros before the end of July.

The 29-year-old outfielder suffered the injury during pregame warmups on Wednesday. While it sounded initially like something he would be able to play through, the Astros are going to do the smart thing and sit him down through the weekend to ensure that it gets right. He should be ready to return shortly after the All-Star break.

It qualifies as an encouraging update that Meyers isn’t dealing with anything more serious after he aggravated a lingering calf issue during pregame warmups ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Guardians. There should be an update on his status ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Rangers. It wouldn’t be shocking if he sat out the rest of the first half leading into next week’s All-Star break.

Not good. Meyers was set to return to Houston’s lineup following a two-game absence due to a right calf issue, but that’s no longer happening. He needed assistance from an athletic trainer to leave the field just a few minutes before first pitch on Wednesday night. There should be an update on his status shortly.

Meyers is back patrolling center field and batting second on Wednesday night at Daikin Park following a two-game absence due to right calf tightness. It doesn’t sound like a massive concern, especially with the extended All-Star break coming up in a few days.

Meyers will sit out his second straight game on Tuesday night as he nurses a right calf issue. There’s no real reason for Houston to rush their starting center fielder back this week and risk the issue getting worse so they’ll continue rolling with Taylor Trammell in his place.

Meyers appears likely to avoid the injured list for now after exiting Sunday’s game against the Dodgers with right calf tightness. The 29-year-old center fielder is day-to-day for now. It’ll be rookie Kenedy Corona taking over in center field in his absence.

Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters after the game that the 29-year-old outfielder’s calf tightened up on him during the game and that he was removed out of an abundance of caution. It doesn’t sound like anything that should lead to an extended absence, but fantasy managers should be sure to check his status on Monday before setting lineups for the week.

All of Meyers’ hits were singles, but this is what the 28-year-old does. He makes consistent contact and gets on base, and then steals bases when he does. He’s now hitting .302/.361/.412 on the season with 10 steals and needs to be on more fantasy rosters — he’s rostered in just seven percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Meyers picked up his eighth stolen base of the season in the early stages of the contest before walloping a tie-breaking opposite-field solo shot — his third long ball of the season — off Rays reliever Manuel Rodríguez in the seventh inning. The 28-year-old outfielder putting together a career year so far, hitting .301/.368/.426 with three homers and eight steals through 46 games.

Amazing. Meyers came into the day with four extra-base hits — all doubles — and six RBI in 92 plate appearances this season. He raised his OPS an incredible 163 points (.617 to .780), which is tough to do five weeks into the season. Meyers’ struggles had prompted some talk about using Cam Smith in center, although that hasn’t happened yet. Meyers is easily the Astros’ best defensive outfielder, and so as long as his offensive numbers are at all respectable, it’s probably best that he remains in the lineup.

Meyers led off the third inning with a single and advanced to third before he was ultimately stranded there. He then led off the fifth inning with a double off of Dylan Cease and scored the club’s first run on an RBI single off the bat of Mauricio Dubon. With his two-hit attack, the 28-year-old outfielder is now hitting .305/.354/.373 on the season with zero homers, five RBI and seven swipes.

Meyers was the only hitter in the game with more than one hit in the low-scoring affair. He knocked a base hit and stole second base in the second inning, then added a hit in the fourth before driving in the first run of the game with a single in the sixth. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting well to start the season, slashing .289/.353/.333 with six steals over 51 plate appearances.
