Miller had been knocked around in each of his previous two outings and blew a save against the Phillies on Saturday night. He bounced back beautifully in this one though, requiring only 12 pitches (eight strikes) to get the job done. He did surrender a two-out infield single to Alec Bohm, but pinch-runner Johan Rojas was cut down attempting to steal second base to end the game. On the season, Miller now sports a 5.79 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a 36/10 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings on the season while securing 12 saves in his first 14 opportunities.

Miller came into May with a 1.64 ERA. It’s now 6.11. That’s what happens when you allow 10 runs in 6 2/3 innings (13.50 ERA), and the latest blowup saw him give up a game-tying homer to Max Kepler. He did strike out three while showing electric stuff, but the command just isn’t there right now for the 26-year-old. This is a conundrum for fantasy managers, as Miller’s ability puts him in the upper-echelon of relievers when he’s at his best. To say he’s not at his best right now is quite the understatement.

Miller just didn’t have his control Saturday night, and he threw just 11-of-20 pitches for strikes while issuing the three walks. The run is unearned because it was the inherited extra-inning runner that scored, but it does give Miller his second loss of the season.

Miller hadn’t pitched in five days when he was summoned with one out and two runners on base in the eighth to protect a one-run lead. He struck out two batters to preserve the lead going into the ninth. The A’s would extend the lead to five runs in a long top of the ninth before Miller came back out for the final frame. He gave up a triple to Trent Grisham, who scored on a groundout, then struck out two more batters to covert his 11th save of the season.

Miller was summoned in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run lead and hit the first batter before striking out two. He then gave up a double and walked a batter on a wild pitch that allowed a run in. Miller couldn’t get settled as he walked the bases loaded before Kyle Stowered ended the game with a grand slam. And just like that Miller’s ERA goes from 1.50 to 4.97. It was hit first blown save in 11 chances on an uncharacteristic bad day for the 26-year-old right-hander.

The dominant 26-year-old right-hander made sure that the A’s lead was going to stand up in this one. He got Josh Jung on a fly ball to center, Jonah Heim on a line drive to center and then punched out Marcus Semien to end the ballgame, needing just nine pitches (six strikes) in order to do so. He now boasts a 1.50 ERA on the season to go with 10 saves and a 23/2 K/BB ratio over 12 innings.

Miller did put the tying run on base with a walk, but he was able to keep that runner at bay while firing another scoreless outing. It’s a nice bounceback from Friday’s scuffle where he allowed two runs, and he remains perfect in save chances with a 9-for-9 rate. Miller is a special reliever who has a chance to be among the best in baseball for a very, very long time.

Mason Miller: Human? Miller allowed his first two runs of the season when he gave up a two-run blast to Brooks Baldwin, of all hitters. He was able to settle down after to procure the save for the eighth time in 2025. A 2.00 ERA is a very solid number, but it’s not indicative of just how dominant Miller has been in 2025.

Miller did allow a hit, but it’s another outing where he holds the opponent scoreless while picking up his seventh save. It’s the third time in 2025 he’s struck out three hitters in an inning of work, and he’s picked up multiple punchouts in all but two of his nine outings. It’s hard to say any reliever has been more impressive than Miller in 2025.

Miller continues to dominate, and he’s up to 14 strikeouts in his seven innings. The 26-year-old hasn’t given up an earned run and saved six games. Even without as much experience as some of the other elite relievers, Miller is still as good — if not better — than any of them.

Another dominant effort from Miller, who has yet to give up a run in 2025. The 26-year-old now has five saves on the season and needed just 12 pitches to fan the side during Wednesday’s. Miller is a special talent, and even if he won’t get the save chances of some other players because of who he plays for, he still could be the best fantasy reliever in baseball. It’s very easy to imagine, in fact.

The Athletics gave Miller a chance for the save with a two-run lead against the Mets after not pitching in a week. The 26-year-old right-hander worked around a base hit, striking out one batter to lock down his fourth save of the season. He’s tossed five scoreless innings with a 9/1 K/BB ratio in the early going.
