The only run allowed came on a solo homer by Cal Raleigh. Outside of that McGreevy was excellent; striking out six while not allowing a walk. He did give up five balls that registered as hard hits, but for the most part, McGreevy was in control. Unfortunately, his offense stunk. He’ll face the Dodgers on Friday.

McGreevy generated a bunch of soft contact and was better than the ERA suggests, but the five hits and two walks he allowed were just too bunched together. He dropped to 1-2 with a 3.29 ERA ahead of a start this weekend against the Mariners. It still seems best to avoid him in mixed leagues.

Both McGreevy and Joey Cantillo allowed a pair of homers in their start Tuesday, but both pitchers were able to make them solo shots to keep the damage to a low roar. He struck out just two hitters, but he also issued just a single free pass while allowing only two other hits in the contest. You can do worse. McGreevy will be back on the bump with a friendly on-paper matchup against the Marlins over the weekend.

The Nationals ran out a left-handed heavy lineup against the right-handed McGreevy and he gave them fits with his changeup and curveball out of the zone. He didn’t miss many bats, but forced some ugly swings and mixed all seven of his pitches to keep the Nationals off-balanced all afternoon. He’ll have another favorable matchup up next when he faces the Guardians back home in St. Louis.

Coming off a dominant no-hit outing against the Rays, McGreevy breezed through the first three innings but allowed a two-run homer to Dillon Dingler in the fourth. Justin Bruihl came on for McGreevy with a man on first and two out in the fifth and allowed the inherited runner to score. McGreevy probably isn’t going to get past team-streamer status this year, but he’s allowed just two walks through his first two turns and is generating enough called strikes with a deep arsenal to be effective so far.

Junior Caminero ended the no-hit bid immediately after Riley O’Brien replaced McGreevy to start the seventh. Still, it was a 4-0 game going into the bottom of the ninth, when Matt Svanson and Ryne Stanek combined to give up four runs and cost McGreevy the win. McGreevy’s velocity was down all spring and actually down a little further today — his 90.7 mph average with his sinker was 2.3 shy of his 2025 mark — but he obviously made it work. He got 21 called strikes for a decent 28% CSW and only five of his 14 balls in play were hit hard. Those five well-struck actually produced two 390-foot flies and had xBAs of .940, .870, .750, .540 and .360, but all were handled by the Cardinals defense. We’re still not very optimistic about McGreevy offering mixed-league value, especially without that extra two mph on his heater.

McGreevy scattered just three hits on the afternoon and didn’t allow a base on balls. The only blemish on his day came on a solo home run off the bat of Taylor Trammell in the second inning. McGreevy got eight whiffs on 62 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 21 percent. He finishes the spring a perfect 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and a 16/2 K/BB ratio across 18 1/3 innings. He looks ready for the regular season.

The run was a solo shot by Jorge Polanco. McGreevy’s velocity was well down as he utilized seven distinct kinds of pitches and had a 19 percent whiff rate. He profiles as a usable streamer in deeper leagues to start the season, but there’s no massive strikeout upside or anything here.

McGreevy’s velocity is still down about two mph from last year, but he gave up only four singles and walked none today. The likely No. 3 starter for the Cardinals, he has a 3.24 ERA through three starts.

McGreevy’s 24 fastballs and sinkers today produced nine called strikes and no contact. His 14 sliders and sweepers, on the other hand, were put into play seven times, resulting in all three hits he surrendered. McGreevy has given up two runs in 4 1/3 innings to date.

McGreevy retired six of seven batters after a leadoff homer from Jakob Marsee. His velocity was down about two mph from last year in his first tuneup, which probably doesn’t mean much of anything. McGreevy will almost assuredly open up with a spot in the St. Louis rotation this year.

McGreevy surrendered two homers to Michael Busch. He ends a solid rookie season at 8-4 with a 4.42 ERA and a 58/20 K/BB in 95 2/3 innings. Going forward, he’ll need to up his groundball rate or his strikeout rate in order to remain successful. This year’s 47% groundball rate is above average, but it’s not going to be good enough to overcome a 14.5% strikeout rate.

McGreevy allowed homers to bookend his innings; a leadoff shot from Heliot Ramos and a fifth-inning solo blast from Rafael Devers. The big damage came in the fourth, however, as McGreevy allowed a three-spot in that frame. Fortunately for him and fantasy managers, the mediocre at best effort gets a win thanks to six runs of support from his offense. McGreevy was due for an outing like this, and he’ll hope to pitch more like he did Tuesday (7 IP, 0 ER, 6 SO) against the Reds when he pitches in the finale against the Cubs.

McGreevy put together the best start of his rookie campaign, shutting out the Reds over seven innings. He scattered three hits and issued three walks while collecting six strikeouts on 91 pitches. The 25-year-old right-hander will look to build on the start when he takes a 4.08 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 53/15 K/BB ratio across 86 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco on Monday.

It was 1-1 when McGreevy departed, so he didn’t factor into the decision. In his last eight starts, McGreevy has completed six innings seven times, amassing a 4.11 ERA. He’s not missing enough bats to do much better than that, but he feels like someone the Cardinals can pencil into next year’s rotation. He’ll face the Reds next.

McGreevy walked one batter on the evening while striking out three. He served up back-to-back homers to Rafael Devers and Willy Adames in the opening frame, then kept the Giants off the board until they erupted for four more in the fourth inning. The 25-year-old hurler got six swings and misses on 75 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he totes a 4.68 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 43/12 K/BB ratio (73 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Mariners in Seattle.

The Reds went the whole game without striking out, but they were held to three singles and two doubles while mostly pounding the ball into the ground against McGreevy. It’s the sixth straight outing in which McGreevy has completed six innings, and he improved to 6-2 with a 4.17 ERA. His ceiling wouldn’t seem to be very high, but it’s certainly already safe to pencil him into the Cardinals’ 2026 rotation. He’ll face the Giants next.

McGreevy struck out seven and walked two while posting a 19 percent whiff rate and 25 percent CSW. He was set up for the win before Riley O’Brien allowed a run in the ninth inning. The 25-year-old doesn’t miss many bats, but he pounds the strike zone, which allows for plenty of called strikes and the odd game with a solid strikeout total. Three of the four runs McGreevy allowed were on two home runs, and that makes it hard to get excited about starting him in Cincinnati later this week.

McGreevy allowed six hits, walked none and struck out five in moving to 3-0 with a 4.13 ERA in four starts this month. He still hasn’t struck out more than five batters in any of his 10 outings, but he’s walked a total of seven and allowed four homers in 57 innings, and if you can stay away from those things, you can afford to give up some singles and doubles. He’ll likely make his next start Monday against the Pirates.

McGreevy struck out two and didn’t walk a batter while throwing 48 of his 74 pitches for strikes. He allowed only one extra base hit, a home run to Mickey Moniak, but he posted just a 14 percent whiff rate and 24 percent CSW is a relatively underwhelming start. McGreevy simply doesn’t miss enough bats to provide a ceiling that would entice fantasy managers. He could be considered a high-floor streamer next week against the Marlins, but it’s a bit of a risk.

The 25-year-old rookie right-hander struck out three batters on the evening while allowing one free pass. All six of the hits against him in the ballgame were singles. The biggest threat against him came as the Cubs put two men on to open the fifth inning, but McGreevy rallied to retire the next three hitters in order to quell that rally. He got six whiffs on 87 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll attempt to replicate this fine effort as he totes a 4.40 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 26/7 K/BB ratio (45 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Rockies.

It was a better effort than the last outing out — also against the Padres — but McGreevy certainly wasn’t impressive. He allowed seven hits and a walk, and saw his ERA increase to 5.08 despite four strikeouts. McGreevy would be a risky streaming option against the Cubs next weekend.

He allowed nine hits, walked two and struck out two with his velocity down a tad today. McGreevy, now probably a full-time starter for the Cardinals after Erick Fedde was dropped, came into the day with a 3.49 ERA in four starts and one relief appearance in the majors this season. He should get enough grounders to survive in the rotation, but hopefully his stuff will be a little crisper when he faces the Padres again next time out.

McGreevy will get the nod after the Cardinals designated Erick Fedde for assignment Wednesday. In his spot start Monday against the Rockies he worked seven innings while allowing just two runs, and that earns him another turn in the rotation. McGreevy does not have great swing-and-miss potential, so there’s risk in his fantasy profile, but his ability to limit weak contact and throw strikes makes him someone who is worthy of consideration against a considerable amount of lineups.

McGreevy came up for a spot start after Matthew Liberatore was scratched, and the former first-round pick did a solid job in some unfriendly confines. He only struck out one while allowing seven hits, but he didn’t have any self-inflicted damage and kept Colorado off the board from the third-inning on. McGreevy isn’t going to miss enough bats to be a fantasy stalwart, but there’s enough command of his arsenal to suggest he can be a streaming option in the coming seasons.

It’s a brutal spot for fantasy purposes with McGreevy coming up to take the ball for Monday’s series opener against the Rockies at high-octane Coors Field. The 25-year-old righty has shown some flashes of fantasy potential in a handful of outings this season for St. Louis and there’s a reasonable case to be made that he’d be an upgrade in the rotation over cromulent veteran Erick Fedde at this juncture. He’s not a recommended streaming option on Monday evening, but he’s the type of arm fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues should continue monitoring.

With Miles Mikolas and Erick Fedde struggling in the MLB rotation, McGreevy could be pushing for another opportunity, so this was a poor time to have a really bad start. The right-hander gave up two home runs on the day, but still has a 3.21 ERA in 70 innings at Triple-A this season. He’ll get a shot at some point.

The 24-year-old is 8-1 with a 2.28 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 67 innings at Triple-A this year. We’re not sure what more he has to prove at this level to get a spot in the Cardinals’ rotation.

McGreevy has been shipped back to the minors after predictably getting torched for five runs over 4 2/3 innings on Tuesday night when temperatures were pushing the 90-degree mark at Busch Stadium. The 24-year-old righty has shown some promise at times this season and should get another chance relatively soon.

The 24-year-old right-hander walked one batter on the evening while striking out one. All of the damage done against him came in the third inning as Kyle Tucker smacked a two-run single and Seiya Suzuki followed with a three-run blast. Still, McGreevy was just one out away from qualifying for a victory but couldn’t wiggle his way out of the fifth inning. He got just five swings and misses on 77 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. McGreevy now sports a 4.22 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 16/3 K/BB ratio over 21 1/3 innings in four appearances (three starts) with the Cardinals this season. He’s expected to head back to Triple-A Memphis after this spot start.
