Here’s a pretty remarkable stat: Mikolas is going to end the year having given up more homers in two starts at Wrigley (nine) than in 15 home starts (seven). Without wind being much of a factor, Mikolas surrendered six against the Cubs on July 4. The wind, though, did hurt some today, especially on Nico Hoerner’s career-long 412-foot blast. This will probably go down as Mikolas’s final start with the Cardinals, as he’s three-year, $55.75 million contract is expiring. He ends the year 8-11 with a 4.84 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 156 1/3 innings. He’s 37 and has an 85 ERA+ the last three years, so he’s probably going to have a rough go in free agency.

Mikolas struck out three batters on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. Despite the parade of baserunners, the Brewers were only able to scratch out single runs against him in the second and sixth innings — the second of which scored after Mikolas had turned the ball over to the bullpen following a leadoff double. He got four whiffs on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll carry an uninspiring 4.76 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 96/36 K/BB ratio (151 1/3 innings) into his final start of the season on Friday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

The 37-year-old hurler punched out five batters on the day and didn’t allow a base on balls. He kept the Brewers off the board through the first three innings, then served up solo homers to Caleb Durbin in the fourth and Danny Jansen in the fifth inning. Mikolas got five whiffs on 88 pitches on the day, posting a middling CSW of 27 percent. He’ll try to build off of this strong outing as he totes a 4.80 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 93/34 K/BB ratio (146 1/3 innings) into a rematch against the Brewers at home on Saturday.

Mikolas blanked the Mariners over the first five innings, but he gave up two runs in the sixth; both after he exited the game. The 37-year-old struck out two with one walk and kept the powerful Seattle lineup in the park. Mikolas has pitched well in back-to-back starts, but remains very tough to trust in fantasy. That will remain true for a scheduled start against the Brewers on Sunday.

Mikolas held the Athletics to one run over six frames, giving up the run on a pair of doubles in the third inning. He scattered three other hits and one walk while not recording a strikeout. The 37-year-old right-hander will take a 4.89 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and an 86/33 K/BB ratio across 136 1/3 innings into a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Monday.

Unfortunately for Mikolas, the Cardinals didn’t take the lead until the seventh, so he’s now gone seven straight starts without a win. Still, this was a much better effort than last time out, when he gave up five runs and 10 hits in just 2 2/3 innings versus the Rays. He’ll take a 6-10 record and a 5.04 ERA into next week’s start against the A’s.

Mikolas gave up 10 hits, walked one and struck out one. The 36-year-old right-hander allowed two home runs on Friday, bringing his total to 23 homers allowed in 25 starts this season. Mikolas has a 5.17 ERA and 81/31 K/BB ratio in 125 1/3 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Pirates at home next week.

Mikolas gave up four hits, walked five and struck out one. The 36-year-old right-hander kept the Cardinals in the game for five innings on Sunday. Mikolas has a 4.99 ERA and 80/30 K/BB ratio in 122 2/3 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Rays on the road next weekend.

Mikolas’s velocity surge is starting to wane some now; he averaged 94.0 mph with the fastball tonight and was at 94.1 mph last week against the Dodgers. He averaged 94.9 mph in his previous two starts. This is still significantly better than where he’s typically at — he averaged around 92 mph over the first couple of months this season — but it hasn’t really added to his fantasy value, at least not yet. He’ll take a 6-9 record and a 4.97 ERA into his next start against the Yankees.

A double, sacrifice fly, and a solo homer brought two runs in to score against Mikolas in the first inning. Max Muncy then took Mikolas deep for a second time with a two-run blast in the third inning. Teoscar Hernández would make it back-to-back with a solo blast. Mikolas’s day would be done after three innings. He struck out one. The 36-year-old right-hander will carry a 5.11 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and a 76/24 K/BB ratio across 111 innings into a start against the Rockies in St. Louis on Monday.

Mikolas himself pitched well enough to win here. The problem is that the Cardinals have been shutout by the Marlins in consecutive games. Notably, Mikolas showcased his best velocity of this season in this game. His fastball sat at 95 mph, he threw multiple pitches around 96 mph, and was up two or even three ticks across the board. It’s easy to assume that this could be a mistake, but this was actually Mikolas’ fourth straight start where his average fastball velocity has trended up. That’s something to watch ahead of his next start, which is scheduled to come against the Dodgers.

Mikolas gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out one. The 36-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA below 5.00 with the scoreless outing. However, Mikolas is not a recommended fantasy option, despite pitching around seven hits in the scoreless outing Friday. He has a 70/23 K/BB ratio and 4.94 ERA in 102 innings this year. Mikolas is lined up to face the Marlins at home next week.

The 36-year-old hurler also walked a pair of batters on the day while striking out three. He struggled to keep the baseball in the yard in this one, giving up a three-run blast to Eugenio Suárez in the opening inning and then a solo homer to the Diamondbacks’ slugger in the third. Mikolas got eight swings and misses on 68 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of only 26 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he carries an underwhelming 5.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and a 69/23 K/BB ratio (97 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Padres.

Mikolas scattered two hits and one walk on the evening while racking up six strikeouts. After serving up six home runs against the Cubs his last time out, the Nationals only had one extra-base hit against him in this one — a leadoff double by CJ Abrams. The 36-year-old hurler got 12 whiffs on just 71 pitches on the evening, registering a solid CSW of 32 percent. He finishes the first half with an underwhelming 5-6 record, 4.94 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 66/21 K/BB ratio over 93 innings in his 18 starts.

The phrase “taking your lumps” was invented for games like this one. Mikolas gave up four home runs to the first seven batters of the game and six long balls in total. The Cubs teed off on him and there wasn’t a single moment where they didn’t seem comfortable in the box and ready to attack. Mikolas will take an ugly 5.26 ERA into his next scheduled start against the Nationals.

Mikolas gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out five. The Cardinals trailed 6-1 after four innings, but came back to win 9-6. Mikolas continues to be a fantasy non-factor with a 4.76 ERA and just 56 strikeouts in 81 1/3 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Cubs on the road next weekend.

Mikolas gave up four hits, walked one and struck out six. The 36-year-old right-hander has allowed more than three runs in just three of his 15 starts this year. Despite that, Mikolas still has just a 4.31 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 77 1/3 innings, limiting him to deep league value at best. Mikolas is lined up to face the Guardians on the road next weekend.

Mikolas notched seven strikeouts, topping his previous season high by one, but he was handed the loss after leaving with the Cardinals down 2-1. He’ll take a 4-4 record and a 4.35 ERA into his next start against the Reds.

The 36-year-old right-hander struck out two batters on the evening and didn’t issue a free pass. The Jays jumped on him early in this one as Andres Gimenez crushed a three-run homer in the opening inning. They then tacked on another run in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth before Mikolas mercifully exited. He got just four whiffs on 83 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 25 percent. He’ll look to improve upon his 3.96 ERA and 1.27 WHIP when he squares off against the White Sox in Chicago on Tuesday. That will be the ultimate test of a stoppable force meeting a moveable object.

Mikolas has made 184 starts for the Cardinals since 2018 and allowed three runs and eight hits over six innings in 129 of them. No, not really, but you certainly know what you’re getting at this point. He’s set to face the Jays at home next time through.

Only Mother Nature can keep rookie sensation Jac Caglianone from stepping onto a big-league diamond anymore. Both teams were going to have to endure several hours of waiting out rain showers before an extremely late start, so they’ve decided instead to play a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. Wednesday’s original starting pitchers— Noah Cameron and Miles Mikolas — will presumably take the ball at some point during Thursday’s twin bill at Busch Stadium. Royals ace Cole Ragans (groin) will return from the injured list to start the nightcap affair against Cardinals lefty Matthew Liberatore.

Mikolas’ disappointing season continued with another dud here. Even after his lineup stormed back to grab him a lead, he couldn’t complete five innings to qualify for the win. He didn’t have a single one-two-three inning and was objectively lucky to only allow four runs. It should be noted that he pitched through steady rain here and visibly wet field conditions. His next start is scheduled to come at home against the Royals.

Mikolas struck out five and walked one, with the only damage of the day being a solo home run to Nate Lowe. Mikolas has a 4.35 ERA on the season and has, surprisingly, allowed three runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts this season. He’s not producing top-end fantasy value, but he’s been solid enough this season to be counted on in deeper formats. He’s firmly on the streaming radar next week against the Royals.

Mikolas only struck out one batter — he’s Miles Mikolas — but outside of a two-run homer allowed to Bryan Reynolds, it was a fine start from the 36-year-old. Unfortunately, the homer happened, and five innings of three-run baseball with one strikeout are not what fantasy managers are hoping for. Mikolas will take a 4.76 ERA into a start against the Nationals on Sunday. Look elsewhere.

Mikolas allowed three hits, walked none and struck out four in a second straight shutout performance; he’s lowered his ERA from 7.64 to 4.66 over the last week. We’d still typically recommend staying far away in mixed leagues, but Mikolas does get the Pirates and Nationals next week, making him a somewhat intriguing streaming option.

Mikolas cruised through the first four innings of this one with nothing more than smoke and mirrors, but the Mets were unable to do damage. Then, in the fifth, the floodgates opened when Mikolas allowed five consecutive hard-hit balls to start the innings before being pulled. He only forced five swings-and-misses in total and continues to look like someone that can’t get major league hitters out consistently. He’s scheduled to face the Brewers in his next start.

Mikolas recorded six strikeouts, which was two more than he had in his first two starts combined. He still dropped to 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA ahead of his next start versus the Mets.
